There's an option for Service Renewal, but you'll have to pay $199.99 as opposed to $179.99.
The only thing bad about this is the item appears to be back ordered until 10/23.
I got mine through AT&T for 199.99, but had to work for it. Wish I woulda seen this before having to go through I did (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4755973&postcount=633)

damn you guys have to pay so much....the tmobile wmdeal is still at $50... I got mine for free and honestly, I don't know if it's worth anything more than $100.

[Q] Best place to sell used Evo?

Where is the best place to sell a used Evo with a clean ESN?
I would use craigslist but I moved to a rural area. (which is why I have to leave Sprint) Verizon will give me $155 but I feel like I should be able to get more for it than that. I've never used e-bay to sell anything before but I heard they take a good chunk. I have a small business so I have the ability to process credit cards but with all the scams I doubt anyone will give me their CC#. Any ideas?
Just sold my Evo on ebay for close to $300.
They take a small percentage, but the audience is HUGE so usually you make out pretty well. ( in my experience)
Recently sold an LG Optimus on ebay for $160, when the going rate around here (craigslist) was around $120 at most.
Try the marketplace here on xda. They don't take a cut, but you'll still have to pay shipping.
(from... Evo/MIUI/Tapatalk)
sell it on ebay, they are being sold like crazy.i think u could make WAY more than $155.happy selling ^_^
Yeah eBay is probably the best. And I've seen people buying for way more just because the seller included the box or had a crappy screen protector or some other little thing. And the ones sold as rooted even go higher.
I'm contemplating eBaying mine since the Evo 3d is so drool-worthy.
Thanks for all the replies! I'm gonna check out setting up an ebay account. I'm not a fan of Sprint but so sad to be leaving just because of the Evo 3D. UGH I'm freakin jealous!

Looking to get a new phone... (Reposted; Correct Forum)

I'm currently a proud owner of a Virgin Mobile LG Optimus V running Android 4.0.4 It's a great little phone- I'm guessing it is virtually indestrcutible- (I dropped it. ALOT. And spilled some water. Not even a hiccup!). It's a little phone that could and for something like this- it's amazing, but I feel it's time for an upgrade. As great as it is, let's face it. It's ancient. A 600MHz ARM V6 processor, 418MB of memory, and it's screen is only 3.2". It's opnly supposed to run Froyo. /FROYO/. That's pretty ancient. I'm looking for a new phone, but here's the catch- It has to be on a reasonably inexpensive pre-paid plan. (My parents don't want me to get a contract and I don't blame them, they can be expensive.) Virgin Mobile (My current carrier; 35 dollars a month with unlimited 3G) has only two "decent" phones- A 199.99 HTC One V. A SOLID phone but seriously, 512MB RAM and a SINGLE CORE 1GHz is really not a lot. On the other hand, they have the 300 dollar Evo V 3D with 4G, though it's not really something I want and it's a bit over my prace range- (Up to 250 USD).
While searching plans, I found T-Mobile's 30 dollar Monthly 4G plan. It's wonderful for me. I don't call much but I use lots of data and text alot. T-Mobile also has better coverage, and this is 4G. Not boring old 3G. (I don't mind 3G, but 4G is just better.) While thinking of decent phones I could manage to get GSM Unlocked, I thought Galaxy SII, Galaxy Nexus, and a few others. I looked all around Craigslist NYC, Amazon, Google, and Ebay for all phones and I found that on ebay the bids for a decent SII in decent condition could reasonably be bought for under $250 (T-Mobile/GSM). I'm wondering- Do I need the GSM or the T-Mobile variant, or will either work. Is this phone good and a value for the money? I really like the design and the specs on it. It also has lots of JB ROMs and Native ICS which is a HUGE plus.
Also, is there any difference between the SII with the Capacitive buttons and the one with a huge Home button? (P.S.: I like the one with all capacitive buttons more )
Thanks for reading this.Any answers/input is greatly appreciated.
Edit! I was looking at the ebay link again and found a website called Wirefly where they are offering a SII 4G for 100 bucks if I make a new account. Does this count with a Prepaid account? And if so, is the SII 4G compatible with normal SII roms?

First of all I gotta say that I wouldn't go with the evo 3D it was a nightmare for me. As for the galaxy s2 I would just get the T-Mobile variant if you want full hspa+ speeds and the wirefly link was only for 2 year contracts not prepaid
If I helped you hit that "thanks" button

yeah, I'm gonna get it, but I dont know WHERE the best place to get it is. Wirefly wont work and from TMobile it's like 500 bucks. On EBAY I could prob get it cheap unless too many people bid it up and it would be used. My maximum limit is definitely like 230-250.
I'm really in a situation here. Idk.

I dont know. The only "decent" prepaid phone is the One V and it's not really all that good
Lol the one v is a Pos, plus virgin mobile 3g is a nightmare idk about 4g but I've had horrible experience with virgin mobile. Look in Craigslist for an HTC amaze it has the same specs as our phone, and its cheaper(well here in Vegas).
Edit- I would just wait and save up money if you want the s2.

I looked for the S2 in craiglist. Several things in 200-250. I dont know though, It's really a hit or miss. That S2 for 20 bucks. Should I bid on it? is it even worth it?
I haven't used eBay only amazon but bid on it if you trust using ebay. I would just buy off craigslist

I dont have much experience with Craigslist, and I dont know if my parents would want to get it from Craigslist otherwise id look for it there alot.
Ebay can't be that much worse though, right?
I use my S2 on simple mobile and I love it but you may not have coverage in your area so definitely check that. I got my S2 for $225 and pay $40 a month for unlimited talk, text, and 3G. The service can be a little spotty though.

Ahh.
Right now I'm gonna be on eBay and maybe even Craigslist looking for either an SII or a G. Nexus for under 250 (If I can). I'll be more than happy with either of those two.
I got mine on Craigslist around February. I didn't get robbed either. The dude was gangster looking too. We met up at a Starbucks. He had his family with him lol, Tested the phone out and everything is fine no problems!
What I didn't do was verify the phones imei with T-Mobile to see if it was black listed. I didn't learn about this until I came to the gs2 forums. Though my imei is fresh and the guy was legit I still recommend you check the imei for potential black lists (stolen, insurance claim etc)

The link you posted, is for customers who create a new post paid (contract) account through us for T-Mobile. We do offer T-Mobile pre-paid phones and accounts, but the prices are usually different. I am happy to help you with any questions you have about Wirefly - I work at our HQ. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk plan specifics.
it sounds like you'll break the new phone you're planning to get...
anyways, craigslist isn't a bad place to deal with, the other people are thinking the same thing about you and hoping you won't rob them lol.
Craigslist you'll probably get the cheapest prices. in NY im sure you can find it for $250 even if you have to haggle your prices down.. but you're in NY im sure people are use to that.
Do not get the AMAZE if you're worried about battery life.. their battery life just sucks. had it for 3 months.. hated the battery life.. the camera on the other hand is AMAZING.
If you're going with T-mobile, avoid the international or At&t galaxys2 with the button.. because you'll be on edge. Their ROMs do no work with ours.. that is asking for a brick... only the skyrocket is interchangeable with ours.
between the nexus and the gs2... nexus better screen, better updates
gs2 better battery life (30-45mins screen time), better camera (just a tad), faster data speed.
While I have no issue with craigslist, I doubt my parents would go along. Maybe I'll see if I can convince them to give my cousin the money to get itsince I know he has experience with craiglist. I'd post a wtb on the xda want to buy thread but for some reason it won't let me post there.

Huh?
If you're just looking to upgrade your best bet is selling it on cl or ebay and then trying to pick up a used s3 unless you have an upgrade available. Other than that I have no idea what you asking unless you know a place the does trade in discounts on new phones. Which if that's the case it would probably be a rip off and you're still better off doing what I said.

deal to good to be true?

ok so heres my question. i currently have tmobile and have found a note (tmobile version) 2 on craigslist for sale. hes selling it at an insane price! however, im concerned about getting burned. whats to say he sells the phone to me and then tells tmobile its lost or stolen? will the phone not work for me? maybe im to cautious but even at a great deal im still spending around $500. however if it were an unlocked phone from another carrier it would be ok?
ive been hearing horror stories about this so im just looking to cover my bases. its still a lot of cash.
thoughts?
I would be EXTREMELY careful buying off CL expecially at low prices. I've been hearing and reading about people getting screwed. One guy had his phone for 3 months before it got locked down. Just have to use your best judgement.
Good luck

I owned the Nexus 4 and returned it for the N2. Screen was kind of washed out, battery life was not great. The glass back always worried me. Non replaceable battery as over time batteries go bad. Very fast, smooth, 4.2 is nice. No Facebook sync. Photosphere is neat but a huge battery killer. Great price from play store. But, thats if you can get one.
N2 is ... worth every penny.

The easiest way to take care of this is to simply meet him at the T-Mobile store to verify the transaction. Tis what we did for our second note we found on CL. Working like a champ!

Get it in writing. Make a "bill of sale" with the IMEI and signatures, yours, the sellers, and possibly if you go to a T-Mobile store ask if one of the workers can sign it also and get a pic or video holding the "bill of sale"? I know it might seem kinda weird but, you can never be too careful, these phones are pretty new and pretty expensive still, that is a lot of money to risk...
Are you by any chance on TMo classic plan? I have 3 lines on my plan and the closest one eligible for an upgrade is still 11 months away. I sold my S3 and ready and willing to add some money to buy Note 2 full price, either from TMo or ebay. But i took a chance and call TMo for an early upgrade, and they give it to me for the same price as upgrade. Of course with my luck, the day after I ordered, Cyber monday deal cut the price significantly, and they wont adjust the price for me but still i got it cheaper than my S3 sold price :victory:

That will do no good if he calls it in as stolen or had the value plan and quits paying on it. If he paid full price for the phone, that's the only somewhat safest way it would not get locked (unless called in as stolen)
I just don't want to see someone else get scammed. May be legit but you can never be 100% sure off CL unfortunately.

it wil make a difference in terms of getting your money back...if he does call it in as stolen you have proof of sale so its obviously NOT stolen...and if he stops making payments you can get a refund..you would have to hand over your phone but at least you get your money back
i would just make sure that the document you create states that he phone is either completely paid for or that it states that the seller will continue to make payments until it is paid off in full
someone else posted the same question and i also gave him the same advice...as an experienced phone seller/buyer of ebay and CL i would say that the extra $50-100 that you save isnt worth the headache and paranoia that comes with the savings
if you are going to the tmobile store you could probably even ask the clerk to give you the info on how the phone was purchased and if it was paid off...maybe even ask him how long the account has been active and if the guy has a good track record (the seller will be standing there so its not like you are asking for confidential info without his knowledge)
in my opinion...the only way i would buy a phone that is cheaper than the average asking price is if the seller really did convince me that it was legit (has a legit reason for selling the phone where the price that he sells it for isnt his main focus - ie. he received it as a gift and making $500 on a quick sale is enough for him he doesnt care to squeeze the extra $50 and/or if the seller had a receipt for the phone)..if i have an uneasy feeling i would just pass.always go with your gut

If I were you, I would go to TMO and see what they can do for you about getting the phone directly from them. I was in the same situation as you were about a week ago....wanting the Note II so badly, but had already used my upgrade a couple of months ago for the HTC One S. I basically walked into my closest TMO store and asked the rep what they could do to get me the Note without having to pay full price.
In the end, they were able to get it for me for $200...after rebate, but I had to pay $150 migration fee (Originally $300). I then sold my HTC One S on eBay for $300. So how you look at it, I only paid $50 for the Note II!
Trust me, go into TMO and talk to them....that is one thing I like about them over the other carriers is their customer service is better, not awesome, but better than ATT & Verizon.

Usually if you haveto ask this question its a bad idea.
its just the cheapskate in you trying to justify the purchase
here are your options
1) buy the craigslist note 2, worry about everything under the sun (is it stolen, does it WORK, are they gonna shut it down etc.) and take a chance of getting ripped one way or the other
2) dont be a cheapskate, save another 189$ dont have to worry about anything, ANYTHING!
i appreciate ALL of the feedback! at the end of the day the phone would have costed $450 plus 3.5 hours of driving round trip and probably $30 in gas. so for a total of $480 i just think ill save the few extra bucks and buy it from the store. i really do appreciate it.
just need to decide on a phone. n4, n2, s3, or the sony lt28h.
gotta admit $450 is a hell of a deal though lol.

NOTE 2 for sure...you're in the note 2 forum so that will be the dominant answer.
but seriously the note 2 has been the best phone i have ever owned or used...and i am a phone fanatic...once you use it for a week you can't go back to smaller ones...whenever i see other phones now they look like toys...i remember a few weeks ago (before i bought the note 2 and had my nexus) i thought my sisters S3 was huge...now when i hold that phone in my hands it looks really small and dull
i definitely wouldnt put the s3 in this class of phones (unless its the international one)...i would only go with the n4 is your MAIN focus is on development and/or this phone is too large for your liking
