Sprint GS3 calling issues - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I have 2 problems and I'm hoping that you guys can help me out here.
My friend has an att gs2 and whenever he calls me it goes straight to voicemail and I don't receive his text messages. He's not on my auto reject list so I don't know what the problem is.
Also, sometimes when I call people it won't even dial the number, I'll receive a tone that just beeps (as if the line is busy) and the call will hang up on its own, but the beeping continues.

[Q] "Reject Call and Text Message" with Google Voice

So I'm really loving ICS and all its glory. I do have a question that I'd like to pose.
I am using Google Voice with a Galaxy Nexus on VZW, all is well in terms of making/receiving calls and text messages through the app. I did have a weird setup issue where I had to verify the phone through a phone call and not a text message. Weird, but it didn't stop it from working.
My problem is that when someone calls, with ICS you get the choice to reject the call and send a text message. The problem is that it the text message source is from the phone number on the device itself (which I dont give out), NOT my Google Voice number.
Is this a known issue or has anyone else since this? Maybe this is something we can look forward to in CM9?
I'm surprised this isn't more commonly requested. I only use my GV number for texts and don't subscribe to an SMS package, so I'd like to see this as well.

[Q] CM9 Alpha 4 Goolge Voice Question

I'm trying to get google voice to screen my calls but I can't seem to find a setting that will change the behavior on how calls are answered. When a calls comes in the lock screen pops and I swype to the right and the call is answered. I'm looking to be able to screen the call while voice mail is activated. I'm pretty sure all the settings are correct on/in google voice. Am I missing the options I need to select on the phone or is this a product of still being in alpha?
Thanks for your response upfront!
Have you tried the settings on pc?

Exactly. You have to log in on a PC and all the settings are there. You cannot change that from the app.
The settings on the pc are correct. It's the behavior of answering calls on this rom. When a call comes in it wants me to swipe right to answer, up to send text or left to ignore. I want to be able to see the incoming call without answering it and be able to hear Google voice announce the caller and then select the behavior I.e listen while the voice mail is being made.

When you select it to announce calls on your PC then when you slide to answer it will play the announcement and tell you to select 1 to answer.

OK. Seemed like it was just going straight into the call. Thanks so much for the help all!

Integration with Google Voice - not receiving calls

For those who have their Sprint number integrated with Google Voice, have you experienced any issues with not receiving calls? Sometimes, I'll receive a missed call notification in Google Voice but my phone never rings. Tried testing it by calling from my landline and it goes straight to voice mail saying, "the Google Voice subscriber you have called is not available."
It doesn't happen all the time but enough that's it's an annoyance.
Call Sprint and have them reprovision you. I've had this happen before and that usually fixes it.

Thanks...I'll give them a call.
Does using Google voice use any minutes from the land line plan, or is it totally free to use.

If you integrate your Sprint number with your Google Voice account then yes it does use your minutes.
I have this problem as well, going to call sprint
from a galaxy, far, far away.
So I called and had my phone reprovisioned but I still missed a call without it ever ringing. I'm thinking this might simply be a problem with the Google Voice servers getting overloaded at times.
Dang was hoping this would be the solution

Nice sig
For anyone who still has their Sprint number integrated with Google Voice, are you guys still experiencing problems like this? I'm thinking about integrating them again but not if these issues are still persisting.
On rare occasions I have experienced this, but usually it works just fine. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the fact that GV will only ring your number for about 30 seconds, and sometimes it takes the towers longer than that to find you. I've had my actual phone ring for only about 5 seconds before. It would be nice if GV let you set the timeout...

I experienced the same problem . missed calls and delayed texts . I deleted Google voice and went with YouMail and so far I haven't missed calls or texts that I know of. I tried to use sprint voicemail it kept giving me a busy signal no matter what I did .

The thing I miss most about Google Voice is the ability to text from my computer without my phone having any sort of data or wifi connection. I've tried DeskSMS, MightyText and mySMS but they all require your phone to be connected to the internet for the texts to go through. So if your phone is off or in deep sleep without wifi or data, the texts don't go through. The missed calls thing with Google Voice was a deal breaker though.
Still happening to me and my wife (one android one iPhone). Getting real frustrating. In addition, we are also experiencing an ability to place a call, needing to try mutliple times before the call will go through.
Seems to happen most often when calling from one Gvoice number to the other.
This is with Sprint Integration.
We are struggling between living with this and missing out on all the Gvoice features if we drop it.

Mine is working great and has ever since I started using GV. There are times where a missed call notice will show up without hearing the phone ring, but I suspect that's just Sprint. Doesn't happen anymore now than it ever did. At least I get notified quickly.
Same issues here. I noticed it only happens from people who aren't in my contact list. As soon as I add them, all their calls and messages get through. I had GV integration, but not anymore.
Could this be an issue with CM 10.1? The reason I'm asking this is that all the missed texts show up in mighty text on my notebook.

Phone not receiving incoming calls!

Major problem. If someone tries to call me, all they get is silence on their end. It doesn't even ring. Obviously my phone wont physically ring either. I am not sure whether it is related to my rom either. I am on the jellyverse rom and do not think I have changed anything before getting the problem. I called sprint and they tried resetting on their end a few times but it wasn't helping any. They told me they would send someone to the tower, but that cant be the problem since it is happening everywhere I am. They then told me to take my phone to the sprint store to have it checked out, and ultimately I might have to have phone replaced. The other thing that isnt working is if i physically call voicemail by holding the 1 button on the keypad. This is probably a related problem. Everything else seems to be working. I can make all other outgoing calls besides vmail. Data/email works. Text messaging seems to be working fine. Can anyone in this great epic touch community help?

Did you delete anything sound related. Happened to me when I deleted DSP manager while I was flashing sound mods. I deleted dapanager and had no sound of any kind what so ever
Not that I know of. I dont think I explained it clearly enough.
Someone will try to call me. They dial my number. Put their phone up to their ear. And they hear nothing. No ringing, no dial tone, no busy signal. Nothing.
On my side. I dont hear anything either. No incoming call ring. No missed.
I just messed with google voice settings to see if if that might be the problem. I unclicked my phone from the call forwarding list. Now I can call voicemail, but still no incoming calls.

Similar thing happens to me from time to time... My wife will text me wondering why I don't answer the phone. "Well... It didn't ring". Then shortly after, I get A VM notification. No idea what the issue is and sprint is worthless to fix it. That's why I am force roaming my a** off to have them kick me so I don't have to pay the ETF. Switching to AT&T as soon as they send me the termination letter.

Well gray I hope you get out without an etf. A couple friends of mine recieved a letter then they were called a couple months after. Etf due. They are being given the run around by sprint. I can guarentee sprint wont get the money from them. Although doing that leaves bad marls on your credit report. Goodluck man:beer:

They can't legally do that if they kick you because of roaming. Most of the time, a person doesn't even know they are roaming or can't help it.

Answering calls on AT&T w/Google Voice

My GF has an AT&T GS3, and is having fits answering calls thru Google Voice. When a call comes in, the phone says the call is from an unknown number and makes her open keyboard and choose to accept the call, and often calls get missed. My I-9300 does not do this, so I figure it is something AT&T has tweaked on phone.
Has anyone else had ths problem? I have looked through everything, and can't find a way to remove the additional step in answering calls.
Thanks!

Log in to Google voice on a pc. In options, uncheck the call screen option. Fixed.
