Why did ou guys pickup an AT&T version to use on Tmobile when tmobile has the same exact phone?
Anyways, if no one will step up...ill do it. Its fairly easy and will do it for free lol. I just need some time to make time to do this.

I bought my AT&T to use on AT&T ... but decided to keep my TMO plan a little longer..
The benefits for a lot of people would be that AT&T's off contract price is $550 versus TMO's $630 :-/
It'll be awesome if you could rescue us from EDGE! :good:

what did you guys do to unlock? just pay the $25 to an unlocker?

Best buy offering LTE-Less GNex?

Okay I need an aswer to this by tomorrow... I figured id ask here while I look on google.
Will best buy be offering the UK or a GNex version wiithout the LTE radio in it for people say on T-Mobile orf those who don't want the LTE radio in it?
I'm asking because my parents are either going to get the SGS2 (which is inferior with T-Mobiles version) or the GNex and I'm the one deciding which. Obviously I want the GNex, but not sure I do if it comes with the LTE radio in it..
Thanks in advance for the nice responses!

There is no GSM version officially released in the US. You have to import and buy full price.
Sent from my GSM Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Probably not until either AT&T or T-Mobile starts selling them. Has BB (or ANY major B&M retailer) ever sold "non-carrier branded" devices? I don't think so. They make money on the contracts. If they could avoid hardware completely they'd do it in a second.
Well I'm just thinking maybe when Tmobile starts selling them they might see fit to sell the GSM edition as they don't seem to have LTE in the near future.. do you guys think maybe that's a possibility?
Sent from my MyTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
right now best buy only sells the Verizon LTE version.
if the device ever launches in the USA in a GSM version, you'll be sure they'll carry that as well like they did with the Nexus S.

Best Buy Mobile was actually the exclusive retailer for the Nexus S. Unlocked unbranded. Subsidized on tmobile. In fact they still sell the Nexus S unlocked unbranded and subsidized on att.

First of all, wtf at your grammar and using the wrong words. Do you even look back at your words after you type them out?
Secondly, nobody knows for sure if America will get any version other than the LTE model. It's all assumption until an announcement is made.

Whoa, calm down. Its from the XDA App, so it was an Autocorrect from 'retarded'.
Now, I am just debating if I am willing to spend $50.00 more to get the phone 30 days earlier. I just wish there was some OFFICIAL talk if the GSM version is going to be available stateside.
Verizon has it exclusive for 60 days from launch according to someone I spoke with from Samsung.
After talking with someone from AT&T, you'll probably see it there in February or March.

Can the ATT S3 be unlocked ?

Wondering if the new ATT Galaxy S3 can be purchased unlocked, to work on pre-paid plans like Straight Talk ?
I prefer the U.S. version with the 2gb RAM.

bad news it will be edge only now and forever...ATT S3 doesnt have the 1700 Tmo 3g..only way the ATT S3 works on TMo 3g is if the radio hardware has 1700 and is only locked via software..but knowing ATT i doubt this is the case...as such your stuck on edge.

[Q] Change S4 from T mobile to Verizon towers

Hello all.
As you can see by my name, Im'a Noob! i have a good understanding of computers and cell phones and can follow directions well but have not attempted anything like this so....
Here's the deal, Today i went to Wal-mart to get a new phone for my wife. I decided on the T mobile Samsung galaxy S 4 (on the Wal-mart family plan $40 a month unlimited) . unfortunately, it apparently does not get signal at my house. What i desire to do is move it to straight talk. because Verizon does have signal at my house. So from this point, is there any way to get this Galaxy S4 to see the Verizon towers and work on the Straight talk network using those Verizon towers? And If So, Can someone please post the step by step instructions (without assuming that i know what a jailbreak or unlocking is) so that i can make my wife happy.

Can't be done
Can't be done. T-Mobile is GSM, Verizon is CDMA, incompatible networks.
Straight Talk resells service for the major carriers but for Sprint and Verizon, who are CDMA carriers/networks, you have to get phones compatible with CDMA to use on Straight Talk and vice versa for T-Mobile and AT&T.
ok how about this

Neither the T-Mobile nor AT&T variant will work on Verizon. Period. There isn't an unlock you can do, no ROM you can flash, no special code you can put in to change that fact.
For ST or Net10 to use the Verizon towers you need a CDMA phone, which the M1919 S4 is not. As was mentioned in the post above mine, you DO have the option to run off of T-Mobile or AT&T networks either through the respective carriers or use those towers via Net10 or Straight Talk; but using the Verizon towers in any way is impossible with the particular device you purchased.

Where'd you buy it? I bought mine from TMO and was told I can return it within 30 days for a full refund. As others have posted, you can't do what you want with that phone, period.
Edit: Reread your original post. If you have to have Verizon then the phone you bought won't work. Just like a AM radio won't pick up FM stations. It's that simple. Take it back to Walmart and get a refund. BUT, if you can live with using T-mobile away from home and have wifi at home you can get a T-Mobile plan and use wifi calling and internet access at home, and the TMO network elsewhere. You want to use wifi at home anyway because it doesn't count towards data or calling usage. It's all seamless, so there's no problem using it that way.
Dude seriously I find it hard to believe you don't have Wi-Fi in your home. Because if you do, your problems are solved. Your phone supports Wi-Fi calling and messaging (SMS/MMS). This is why I switched to T mobile.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe the AT&T and T-Mobile variations are able to pick up 100% of each other's bands so this argument is invalid.

Oy! For the love of God, stay away from Negri. I'm sure the thread is still here somewhere. Just search.
I got my from Swappa (After I cancelled my Negri order). Got a decent deal, saved about $100 over the cost of getting it from T-Mobile. Take your time to find a reputable seller. Look for sellers that aren't just buying and selling used phones (i.e. look for an original owner).

It's not always a horror story with craigslist, there are a few decent people on there lol. But yea I agree other places are definetly more trustworthy and safe to buy from, just don't expect to get as good a deal from them since your not taking a chance.

just call AT&T and make sure to tell them that it is for international travel and not for uses like using it with T-mobile or something like that. They might be able to help you, it worked for me.
We tried that and their response was, not an option we must go with their international rate plan that is 20x the rate that we could have if the phones were unlocked! Don't like being screwed by a company that i pay for service for over 15 yrs!

cellunlocker.net has been a viable source for quite awhile. I've used them in the past and the turnaround time is typically under 2 hours.

Not true for Samsung devices right now, it's been 4 days for me, still no code, Samsung servers are not working so you can't get unlock codes at this moment.
I just got the note 4 (AT&T version) from Best Buy to use with my Straight Talk service and everything works well except the data and MMS. Where can I get a cheap unlock code for this? I own the phone outright (paid cash). Can I call Samsung and they will unlock it or what?

You will not lose your unlock. The unlock is permanent. You can flash 50 ROMs, factory reset your device 20 times, use Odin, etc and it will still be unlocked.
