Swiss Android Rom, also known as SAR, was an envision that XDA member AnAm85 had for a Rom that had additional apps and mods while keeping the traditional Swiss Army Knife look (Red and White). This Rom is red, and features the "Coat of arms of Android" which is a custom logo and wallpaper designed by XDA member AnAm85. Thats why we made it Deodexed, that way if you have a favorite TeAm VeNuM theme, it can be applied!​
This Rom was not designed for the best possible battery life, but through testing, it has not been a major issue. Remember to calibrate your battery and wipe battery stats after every new ROM flash. This can improve battery life it its own way.​

Just for clarification... this was accidentally posted here in dev. We have contacted the mod to have it moved to the more appropriate general section... Once the rom is complete it will be back in dev... sorry everyone...

Generally the mentality here is that the ROM is coming from a developer or team that is very trusted and has a good track record.
To be fair we do know that it is a ROM... and that's pretty much enough for a lot of people to flash away haha. Flashaholics FTW.

Hey, I agree, Venum does put out some great stuff, no doubt about it!

Agreed. I used the Venum ROM for quite a bit, but now Blazer 3.4 with the ICS theme is just too sexy to say no to for now.

I saw this post this morning from my phone but didn't really have time to look at it. Thanks for that though cause I went to dev now that I'm home and thought I was just seeing things and this thread was not there lol.

I can't get 13.0 to download for some reason. it took like 5 hours to download most of 13.0 yesterday, download failed, and this morning the download page won't even loss for me.

My data speeds are fairly weak (250kbps), but i thought the page would still load.

I went to a 4g area and it wouldn't download with a strong wimax signal either via 3 different mobile browsers.

I'm very happy that the camera is truly silent, and yhe battery mod js excellent... Please don't change.

I saw, I hope he does. That was part of why I loved this ROM so much. Either way, 90% of the time I will still be on one of Mijj ROMs. I occasionally flash something different for a day, then go back to his.

I really like the goodness ICS rom but am plagued with the SOD so I am currently on EL29. I was wondering if anybody has had the issue go away with the latest releases? The last ICS version I was on was version 9 and had the SOD issue 5 or 6 times a day. I am hoping that the newer releases don't have that issue.

I am looking for a good rom for my epic 4g touch el29. I tried calkulin's eg4t but it soft bricked my phone. I dont need all the doo dads but it would be nice to remove some bloatware and speed up the processor.

I'm looking for a good one too. Haven't flashed a ROM to this phone yet. Having GPS issues with stock ROM.

The [ ROM ] Calkulin's E4GT v3.0 [ EL29 l Fast l Tweaked l Battery Saver Script ] looks good.
I rooted with the Odin method.
What's the Modem for? Need to install ROM and Modem?
What does this mean?
Modem - Zip's must be flashed through a CWM based recovery & Tar's must be flashed through the PHONE option in Odin

EL29? Go Blazer. You will not regret it one bit

Check out Blazer Rom.

Check out AOKP or MIUI. Both are in my list of DDs.

I too am looking for the perfect ROM. I currently have EpicTouch AOSPmod v.3.8.1 This is a really good ROM. However, my one and only complaint is that it does not have the SWYPE keyboard integrated into it

This is quite literally the easiest way I have found to root your device after hours and hours of reading. I look forward to the day that I understand all of the technical jargoon being used on these forums. I considered myself at least a Novice prior to beginning my adventure in rooting, but since I am such a NOOB.
If you or anybody else has a suggestion on an perfect ROM, let me know too. All of this flashing, downloading and reading is making falling asleep a job.

Best rom is all a matter of opinion. Open a few, look at screenies.. read a few post (See what overall reponses are for them) Flash it.. Try for yourself (YMMV) and then form your own opinion..

Whats going xda users and devs!
I've always wondered how our phones would run MIUI, since our phones have the best potential and 2 gb of ram, that makes me think that the resources hungry MIUI will run fantastic in the GS3. Any of you devs have plans to port for us?

My guess is that it's probably in the works. Everybody is really focused on cm10 right now so I would imagine when that dies down a little bit we'll start seeing more of miui and other roms.

I think the fact that there is already a MIUI rom for the international GS3 would make easier to port for our D2tmo. We are a bit behing in rom options in comparison with other US variants. No rush intended tho, just wanted to bring up the interest of us tmo users for something diff and because I haven't seen any request for this either

Actually I have been working on porting MIUI over to our device and the closest I got was having it bootloop on the MIUI bootscreen. Still working on it tho but I bricked my white s3 so I had to get another. I'm looking for another dev to help me out on this.

Yeah I'm pretty much dying without a Miui port. I used Miui constantly on my HD2 and I had some really nice themes going on, very minimalistic and sexy. I've actually been considering switching back to my HD2 for the time being just so I can get back to miui, haha.

Hi, I'm kind of new to this rooting thing and I have a few questions! My maguro GNex is running CM 10.1 with the latest nightly at the moment, and I wanted to know what are the so called kernels, and what can I do with it, where can I get a good one and so on.

Kernel is somekind like the brain of the ROM. There is a lot of nice kernel for maguro such as trinity, franco, lean, etc. Read it in the development section and try it to find the best for you. For me, the best is Trinity kernel.

Not all the info in that post is correct. The stock kernel *does* adapt voltages and frequencies based on demand. To understand what a kernel does, I find it helpful to view the architectural design:

they usually compile their own, use a friends, use the aosp kernel, or use their favorite

I usually check for features I'm looking for when selecting a kernel. I always try to find one that has fast charge option cause I'm impatient when it comes to charging. Available governor's and color change options are important too.
