Sprint has had 2 updates, I think. Now att is rolling one out, any word on a T-Mobile update coming out? Is the att and sprint updates the same basic update?

Wife's warrantied phone just came back with PRL 65168. However, when I *228 on my own phone I only get 52011. Can anyone get this newer PRL?
EDIT
Turns out a hybrid Verizon/Alltel PRL was pushed to the phone for its previous user, and this was "locked" on the verizon side so it wouldn't update. This isn't useful in western NY. Tech support fixed it, and we're both on 52011. Cheers.
Sometimes I wonder what happens to the average joe who has no clue what any of this stuff means.
Currently, I am using a LTE GNex, and I am eager for the new ICS update...I'm on 4.0.2, and correct me if I'm wrong, GSM users already have 4.0.4 rolling out. What's the dealio?
Thanks to Verizon.
Verizon needs to approve of the update by Google. There's a rumor going around that 4.0.5 is around the corner so Verizon users will get that instead.
Just like the headers says,
I unlocked my tmobile phone a few days ago, I had to downgrade from 4.1.2 to 4.1.1 in order to do so. Problem is that although it shows att on my lock screen, when i try to upgrade back to 4.1.2 it tries to go to tmobile's servers instead of going to att and upgrading to their software. I also get an invalid sim error when i turn on wifi calling and i have no 4GLTE....just 4G. I setup and saved a couple of APN's but it still tries to upgrade from tmobile. Texting and MMS work good and i have tried all of the standard settings on the phone with no luck as well. Am i correct in guessing that it is not the hardware but instead is the software trying to phone back to tmobile. I want a simple factory image from att,BUT my phone is an 889 and i am not sure what image to flash to it. It is also at the moment rooted but if it unroots after the flash i will just re-root it afterwards.
What i am hoping for is that if i get att's software on it ,it will upgrade from att.
Thanks.
Sounds of your trying to upgrade from the phone it self. don't
Dude just flash a stock Rom, clean Rom is what most use. You'll find it in the development section. That way you don't have all the bloat that AT&T adds in the firmware.. JUST make sure it has no modem, cuz that you don't want to do!!.
You don't want to flash a AT&T modem on a T-Mobile GN2. Would just give you boot loops..
Your IN the same boat my buddy was in. He has the same phone you do. So I flashed a AT&T custom Rom on his phone after the unlock process. Then after a few days told him to upgrade back to the newest modem from TMO.
As a side note I changed his model in his build prop to a I317. Just too c what would happen. But lo and behold I had his phone next to mine the other day. LTE area, checked mine and his we're both on AT&T LTE network. LTE 14
Oh yeah let me state that I did no AWS bands unlocking thing. Was just kinda amazed that he was getting LTE from att, on a TMO GN2.

I am still on the fence on how about going to do this. If someone can point me to the proper files(that's my biggest problem) I think i can do the rest.
Thanks.

Hey everybody, I'm just wondering if it is possible to still receive device updates when switching to a new carrier. I switched my Verizon note 4 to cricket not long ago and I saw that someone posted the phone is supposed to receive an update tomorrow so I am just wondering will I still receive it? Or is it something else that I would need to do to update?
Nope, you won't receive ota updates if not on verizon network. However, you can still update your phone using verizon's software assistance on your pc.

Thanks bro I got it, just popped my old vzw Sim in and presto.
Ok after waiting forever for my AT&T Note 4 to gain root access I decided this time around to go international so I picked up a 930-FD. I didn't look into some of the things I would lose by not getting the AT&T model. I'm fine with losing LTE, but was surprised when I installed AT&T Visual Voicemail and it failed to work. After contacting AT&T they told me that is not a feature for models not made by them. Is this true or is there a way to make it work. I know it sounds stupid but I really liked that feature.
