[Q] Battery killed only red led blinking - HTC One X

Hi yesterday my One X went down to 3% battery. When I pluged in the charging cable a pop up message said. more battery used than charged and the One X shut completely down. I tried to turn it on again but nothing happened.
Ok. I let it charged the whole night over. But in the morning I still can't turn it on. Everything I got is a blinking red LED. I tried holding the power button for 20 sec., power+vol. down, power+vol. up.
When the phone isn't conected to the charging cable I didn't get the blinking LED neither.
Anybody with the same problem?

maybe the charger is broken because from what you describing i think the phone still works

+1 looks like charger has a problem. Did you try another cable ? Directly plugged in your computer ?

Hi do you have clockwork mod installed? Mine did this and to fix it i connected it to my pc via usb and left it for 4 hours. the red light stopped blinking and i booted, then connected it to a mains charger. just an idea.

Hm okay. I don't think it's the charger because the phone is getting warm on the backside when it is plugged in. Some thing when it's USB-plugged.

The man of the service hotline told me to take out the battery. hahaha stupid man. Now I get a 1on1 exchange tomorrow. He couldn't solve the problem.
*Edit:
Do anybody know a trick how I could backup my files? Shortly before breakdown I took a few photos which I would like to keep.

Flashing orange light, here's one reason.

So I got a flashing orange light on my EVO tonight when I plugged it in to charge, phone was dead, wouldn't turn on, dead battery. That's one reason you get a flashing orange light, a completely dead battery, just plug it in and let it sit for a bit and it will get a solid orange light. I advise waiting 20min or so then turning it on.
Side note, car chargers don't always have the power so you can use your phone while it's charging when the battery is really low, had it plugged it and was using it for an hour + and it still died

There are car chargers you can get that will charge the same as your wall charger. Read it and see if it says 1000mA.. There are also adapters that plug into 2 usb ports at 500mA equaling 1000 when charging your phone. Most car usb port chargers have 2 slots or more so its possible. You can also use the adapter method on your computer to receive the full 1000mA charge.
I'm using my palm pre car charger (original). I was streaming Pandora n checking my Facebook and it charged till it was full (green light n all)

Mine charger works for my car, but my moms has a usb port built into the car and that's the one that wouldn't keep my phone alive.

My EVO Shift completely discharged and when I plugged it in to recharge it, I got the same problem - amber light would flash 3 or 4 times then stop, it would not charge and not turn on. I removed the battery for 10min. With the battery removed I plugged in the USB cable into the computer and phone, pressed the power button, unplugged the USB, pressed the power button again, replaced the battery, plugged in the USB and the amber light went solid and appears to be charging now.
BTW, I'm posting this because the OP's solution of plugging "it in and let it sit for a bit" didn't work, it was plugged into the wall adapter all night and didn't charge. I could only get it to do so using the steps above. cheers.
If you happen to be near a Sprint store and the "let it charge for about 20 minutes until solid orange" didn't work, take your battery to them. They can boost it on their battery machine. I see a lot of customers just for this very reason.

I've had my EVO for just a few days and I got the abrupt shut down followed by flashing amber light also. The phone was charging off the usb of my laptop at the time. When i unplugged the phone the light turned off and the phone would not turn on. I thought I fried it because I did not know what flashing amber meant. What was strange about it was that not only did I not receive the usual "battery is nearing 15%, please plug in" notification but the phone powered off when I was reading an article about things to do to prolong battery life. Anyway, I proceeded to charge the phone from an outlet and now things seem to be fine.
I am having a similar problem with my HTC Incredible 2 on verizon. Last night it was charging just fine, and when I woke up this morning it was off and it won't turn on or do anything. I can plug it in and if I hold the battery it will flash the orange light a few times but it always stops. I've tried the fixes in this thread and nothing...what can I do?
It was still almost half way charged when I feel asleep last night so the battery wouldn't have run down. The only thing I'm worried about is if the charger did something to the battery but it seems unlikely as its a charger I've used often.

Thanks! That worked!
I tried bryank909's method and that worked for me too, thanks a lot !
EDIT : after a little time the LED switched off . So I retried the trick and it's not working anymore...

When the amber light is blinking, it basically means charging, but there is not enough turn on voltage to power on the device. If you were previously charging it > remove the battery for 5 minutes > replace it > charge the device on a WALL outlet, NOT a usb charging, i.e. computer, tv, xbox, etc. You should be good to go after that.
Well, when I plug it on a wall outlet and always this switching amber LED...
The fact is that this charger is working well with my other phone (HTC Sensation)
I'll try another charger if I found it !
Hello
This happens on my HTC HD2 when it's on the car mount and used as a GPS, and when there's too much sun hitting the device!
I know I should put the device in the shade, but for that, I'd have to buy a new car mount system, annoying...
In my case of desire sv which suddenly died and was "amber blinking", I had to just push the battery a little bit for it to start working again. Until that point of physical battery adjustment, I tried many options for the "amber blink" to go away.
Thank God, the phone is alive. Apparently, as I understand, the amber blink is to indicate that the battery is not present - perhaps. :on't Know::

[Q] HTC Evo Ebay battery charging problem

Got the 3500MAH battery via ebay yesterday. Plugged it in, ran it all day. Got down to 3 percent when I got home. Plugged it in.. all i get is the amber light blinking, then turning to amber and green blinking. Ok, so i unplugged the charger and let the battery sit out for an hour or so. Maybe it was overheating. Plugged it all back in, same thing and it will not turn on. Tried a different charger, nothing.
I remember seeing something on here a while back, but i can't find it now (yes, even with a google search) about people using 3000-3500MAH batteries and having the same issue but after doing.. something.. everything started working. Couldn't remember what. Any ideas to help me get this thing to charge?

[Q] Phone Won't charge.

Hi there,
I stored my phone for little longer than a month, when i decided to charge it and use it, it didn't charge (plugged to charger for one hour but no orange LED).
while searching with google someone was having same problem, he solved his by plugging the charger first then inserting the battery.
when i plug the charger without the battery in, the phone blinks orange and green,
if i plug the battery when its blinking, it starts charging (orange LED), left it that way till its green (took couple of hours).... but the bad news is, it still doesn't turn ON.
Any idea whats the problem is??
Possibly your phone think the battery is still empty after loading at charger.
Try to boot into recovery, when the charger is plugged in, load until the led is green, and then wipe battery stats. I think it's worth a try.

Could be your battery is dead if you stored the phone for over a month without first charging it. Do you know anyone with the same working battery? Might be worth asking to borrow it and see if works with your phone.

I had this same problem with my Nokia C1-01. I left it to charge overnight, in the morning I pulled out the charger and put it back in again and it started charging.
Maybe this will help you!

[Q] Phone won't turn on, solid orange light?

So anything I can find about this kind of issue talks about a blinking orange light. That's not this.
The phone died yesterday from low battery, no big deal -- plugged it into the wall charger, expected it to be fine in a few hours. 2 hours? Won't turn on. 4 hours? Won't turn on. 8 hours? Won't turn on.
It's now 12 hours later and the phone still has a solid orange light and will not turn on at all. Plugging it into a USB charger connected to PC will not recognize the phone at all, just the solid orange light again. But for now, keeping it plugged into the stock wall charger. Normally, after less than an hour, I could at least turn it on while it charged... something's up.
Any ideas?
Did you un plug the charger and tried powering on ?
Try holding the volume down and power buttons simultaneously.
If it doesn't help, a trip to the service center is a must.
Try another charger. Exact same symptoms for someone else. Fixed by using another charger.
Try this bro. Ha dthe same issue
I had the same exact issue that you are having.
try this frist HOLD VOLUME UP AND POWER BUTTON FOR 10 SEC that shud do it.
if not then plug in your phone to a charger and try the same step again. It shud do the trick Bro. Best of luck ma man.

HTC 10 Not Charging not Turning on

Hello Guys, I went a cinema today, I closed my phone there, then in a break I wanted to my Phone ON !!!

My phone PA64 codes with battery Problem !!! Sometimes battery going mad ...

PLEASE HELP ME !!! I am closely going MAD
Steps tried:
USB charger < 2 Hours
Genuine HTC One Wall Charger < 2 HoursHolding Both volume keys and power keys for 2 Mins
Shining a bright light whilst attempting to turn on (weird i know but apparently it can fool the sensor - reported in some forums)
Tryed another Charger
Tryed another type-c cable
No LED came one whilst attempting to charge.
Not Charging
it died ? on the way and then wouldnt turn on or even show a light when i plugged it in. the weird this was that my laptop would make a noise comfirming that it was detecting something but it still wouldnt show up.
Sounds like some hardware issue. Have you try cleaning the USB port. If you are lucky, maybe this is just something stuck in there blocking one of the pins. Otherwise, it is a trip to the repair shop....

Unfortunately while I try to cleaning type c port, it was dead
My port not working now
I've never dropped my phone. I have spilled water on it once but that was 2 weeks before this happened. Now I can't charge, can't turn on, the phone just died on its own with over 50% battery. I tried all methods to revive it (hold volume keys and power). Nothing worked.
same on my HTC 10 ... tried a Google search when battery low (8%), screen went black and none of the 3 chargers or my laptop bring back the charge LED. Tried holding in power or power+vol up+vol down without success.
Is this happening to a lot of HTC 10s?
What possible solutions are there?
