The galaxy nexus android development section is for the gsm variant. The others have names specifying which carrier they are for

Cyanogen Mod (rom) - same as the other GSII's?

So I've done the whole search thing, and XDA now offers a cool display of related threads when I start a new one...but I haven't found something related to Cyanogen Mod 7.1 for our variant of the GSII.
I hesitate to flash cyanogen because 1. it's not stable anymore (according to their forums), and 2. our model of the GSII is arguably not like any of the other GSII's because we have a different chipset.
Had anyone tried to flash cyanogen mod onto this phone or does someone know that it works?
Thanks in advanced!
10-22-2011 EDIT: So people don't need to sort through the clutter, the answer is no there isn't CM7.1 for the T-Mobile variant of the GSII and no one should attempt to flash the one from cyanogenmod's website for the GSII.
Thanks for answering my questions!
Cyanogen mod roms are built specifically for each device. Don't ever try to flash a build from another device. Even the ATT and International galaxy s2 have differently builds even though they're pretty much the same phone

I believe CM isn't even available for our phone yet. Only for the other SGS2 models.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
DO NOT attempt to flash roms that were not specifically made for our devices! The ONLY roms that are safe for the TMO GS2 can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1332
Thanks for the information. I thought that would be the case.

Yeah I am a smart guy, thanks. I helped out the OP by telling him that CM isn't available yet. What did you do? Oh well, thanks for trying to contribute though.

None of the unlock solutions from the market work on our devices. If you are a T-Mobile customer, you can call in and request the unlock code, otherwise you can get it by faxing in your sales receipt. There is a good discussion of the topic here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18643213

My statement was in reference to the GSII only. Users reported too many bugs...but again that's not for our GSII.
If you check their forum there is no more "stable mod" link to 7.1 for the GSII.
The mytouch4g should be fine.
FYI: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/33171-what-happened-to-stable/

I apologize to you if my question was naive. At least I didn't go posting in the developer forums.
The development seemed active enough for this device that I was considering there was a chance of availability. I'm also not rushing or demanding anything from the developers/developer community. I also give thanks and donate to them.
Other's have graciously answered my question, and to them I say THANKS.

PS: Any admin or moderator please move the question to the right forum and apologies didn't know where to ask

In all fairness, a little reading about the phone you own could never hurt, this is the absolute basics.

There's not being born knowing all, and there is not bother to take a look a little bit down this same subforum's threads, and seeing at least 3 titles with "CyanogenMod" or CM9/10 in them.

You ask for stable CM, so here's v 9 RC1:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734765
If you want to flash Roms like CM then do yourself a favor and read the instructions and other relevant info.
/facepalm
At least post in the correct forum. Questions go in Q&A, General goes in General, Development goes in Development, etc.

[Q] silly qq about ROMs

when some ROM is based on JRO0** version it can be used for any version right ?
I assume by version you mean versions of the gnex.
No.
GSM needs GSM builds, Verizon is Toro, Sprint is Toro+.
There are several stickies in each section. I would strongly suggest reading them all before trying to flash.
No, ROMs are device specific.
Yeah what they said! =) There's also a Maguro * spelling * for international version I believe.
Thx...and can some tell me which ROM is better..Revolution HD or androidME GNex

For which device ?
SlimBean (JB 4.1.1) is a great Maguro Rom . Give a nice "hd" feeling with small fonts and launcher icons

no, stock is great.
you clearly do not read the forums and see the threads upon threads of people being "which is the best rom?" "of these 2, which is better"
the answer is always stock.

It's not. It depends on your personal requirements and wishes. There's simply no "best".

Oh my god! Someone who understands! (Note: I understand that Zepius's reply is a snarky reply by someone who is just sick of the "best ROM" threads)
Now, let's just let this thread get locked like the rest of the "which ROM" threads.
At the end which of the following ROMs is better RevolutionHD or AndroidME GNex?
In talkin about stability performance...battery life etc.

They're both great, give them each a try and see which one works best for you.

Note for all t-mobile galaxy s4 users

As soon as cm10.1, AOKP and all those great roms get released a ton of you will jump on it. When downloading a rom from another website only download a rom that is for the "Jfltetmo". That is the t-mobile galaxy s4 codename. Any other rom will potentially brick your device.
Edit:meant for general... thanks for moving.

I have many app ideas, but don't have the skill or the time to learn how to make an app. if you would like to know an idea and attempt to make one, just message me.
The m919 is universal to all s4's right? Who determines the code names for different phones?

Why didn't you post this in general, better yet, why did you post this at all? This is for development. Help yourself to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=1559 . Please don't waste the space...
This is a new section started for the Tmo s4, let's try and play by the rules so to set a example for the noobs that will flood these pages. Make sure to read rule #15, that should set you straight(I hope).lol

Since lordcheeto03 has answered your question and linked you to the threads with kernels I will be closing this thread before it becomes a discussion or rally for everyone's favorite kernel.
Users are expected to read through the development section and decide which kernel is best for them.
