[Q] Regain root on JB 4.1 stock JRN84D (odexed)? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey there,
in order to be able to receive future OTA-Updates, I have flashed the stock JRN84D (odexed) from Clockwork over the de-odexed v2 from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737849
Of course, by doing so, I lost root access and thus cannot go to clockwork recovery anymore. Now I would like to know how to regain root access.
In 4.0.4, I gained root via a few fastboot terminal commands (I'm on a Mac). Is there a similar way on 4.1?
Any help will be highly appreciated!
Cheers
Thomas

Okay now, this method still works on 4.1 and thus has done the trick: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19583168&postcount=1
I'm sorry that my first question had to be one that could be solved by searching just a *little more than I already had.
Keep up the good work!

Temporary Clockwork with 4.0.3 update question

I have an LTE Galaxy Nexus and would like to keep the stock ROM with having root to be able to wireless tether, etc. I would also like to be able to update to the official 4.0.3 when it is pushed OTA. So this brings me to a Clockworkmod question:
If I root phone, install temporary Clockworkmod to do the whole nandroid backup and everything. Since i will have a temp Clockworkmod, when the 4.0.3 update is pushed, will I be able to simply reboot my phone so that my rooted stock OS would first recover a stock recovery then apply update with successful installation? Could it be that easy? Or even to just reboot once i create a backup so my stock recovery detects the OTA?
I understand that the update would unroot my phone, however what i am getting at is whether i should wait for the 4.0.3 update to be released so then i could root and install Clockworkmod and all that, or does it really matter if what i described above will work?
Thanks of the help. Please provide as much detail as possible. As you can see I am newb.
i have a question to add to this. I have the perm clockwork recovery and i want to undo that so i can get the update when i comes out but i dont know how to do that without going completly back to factory conditions.

Which 4.0.4 Update Method

ok, I see several ways to apply the 4.0.4 update. Which one is the best and which one will make sure I have the stock 4.0.4 update? I understand that I may lose root and CWM, that is fine and and I can redo all of that. I just want to make sure I am on stock and that root will work and CWM as well.
Thanks
When you update you will lose root. I believe there is an app out there along the lines of "root keeper" for keeping root. clockwork on the other hand I'm not sure about that but you may be able to get it back through ROM manager or re-flashing but don't quote me.
Sent from my GNex running gummy v0.7.0
Thru "fastboot flash recovery" flashing temporary cwm in order to flash update file and then SU.zip to keep root
There is a ROM out there that can be flashed over any ROM using CWM. I flashed it today and near as I can tell its stock.
Flash this ROM:

Make sure you're running the new radios too.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1481095
I reverted to the 4.0.2 radios (had been running the 4.0.3 radios), then use the link above. Everything, and I mean everything, is better/faster/smoother.
Good luck & have fun.

[Q] Root and Update

Hi,
I've currently installed android 4.1.2 on my galaxy nexus.
At the moment, I've all the apps that I need, the bootloader is unlocked, I've got the root permissions and the clockwork recovery.
The question is: is there a way to update to android 4.2.2 without lost the root, the apps and all the other things? Obviously without rooting the device and installing the apps again
Thanks
ps: I'm sorry if my english isn't perfect
You can read here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419170
Personally, however, for a clean installation, I would be driven flash image of a factory 4.2.2. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895)

[Q] Jelly Bean rooting

Good day to all of you. To begin with, I am really sorry for this thread as I think there are quite a few regarding my question. I am new to all these procedures, such as rooting. Yesterday I upgraded my Ace II from gingerbread (2.3.6) to Jelly bean (4.1.2) and I would like to root my device. I have found several topics regarding this, but in most of them the files were missing or the instructions are not clear. Please, can someone give me a link to the files needed to root my phone and with instructions on how to do it. Thank you in advance.
I have the files, which you need to use to root you device by the method on this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006183: http://d-h.st/IcW
ou don't need any special (mostly) old file for JB rooting... Just use chainfire's flashable ZIP file via CWM
1) Flash CWM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141395
2) Flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.xx.zip
http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
When I was on stock ROM, I used this method Since is the CM11, I am no longer in this topic.
