INTF0 when USB connecting to my computer - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Phone Info:
Android version: 4.0.4
Baseband version: I515.10 V.FC04 / 1515.FC05 (From this thread)
Kernel version: 3.0.8-franco.Kernel-nightly-384GPU (from Franco Kernel Updater)
Mod version: liquid.toro.062412.025446
Build number: Liquid ICS v1.5 (From here)
Computer running Win XP Pro SP3.
This issue has been happening for awhile -- it first happened running BAMF Paradigm 1.2, after I flashed from Team BAMF's Kernel to Franco Kernel Milestone 3 (from the Updater, I believe), and using the above-listed radios. I have not updated the radios since I was running BAMF Paradigm, but I've updated everything else. Also, I have always tried to verify my checksums, but I'm sure I missed that step a few times along the way.
Issue:
When I plug my phone into my computer, if I've freshly flashed a new ROM, it will pop up as an Android Device (as expected). However, if I wait a few hours -- during which time I install APKs from the Play Store and the App store, not from a backup, and then I restore only app data from my backup -- when I plug my phone into my computer, it comes up as an unrecognized device and asks for drivers for devices INTF0, INTF1, and INTF2.
I have read that it could be related to my kernel, and I haven't tried flashing a stock kernel. I have also tried uninstalling all my Android device drivers from my computer, and while that fixed a problem I was having with a pesky G2, it didn't help anything with my GNex.
Otherwise, my phone is completely useable.
Any suggestions? Would a factory reset fix this?
Update: Solution found... Fast Charge was enabled, and now that I've disabled it, it works just fine.

Do you have fast charge enable?

No problem, I went through the same thing a couple of months ago lol.

Thank you thank you thank you. I was losing my mind trying to figure this out!

Not to dig up a way dead thread, but my stock GNex is showing this also, I don't believe it's been rooted, I did buy it off craigslist though.

Just root and flash a rom :fingers-crossed:

[Q] [UPDATED] USB trouble and brickish issues

UPDATE:
I'm thinking I could download rom manager and use it to install the stock rom... but given the trouble that I had with flashing roms before:
(My phone had a working version of Axiom 2.4 on it. I decided to try to flash a few new roms (gummy, liquid, codename android) and all had the same issue, they would boot, go to the upgrading android screen, finish that and go straight to the homescreen without the "welcome to android/activating" screens, then freeze after 10 seconds requiring a battery pull. Sorta led to this mess)
I'm not sure its a good idea.
Any thoughts? I really just need to get rid of the lock on the splash screen.
I'm considering just letting it sit till an ota comes out and either A: relocks the phone so I'll return it, or B: effs it so badly I can return it.
Drop box + 4G can be an annoying workaround for usb functionality.
Having some trouble with the GNex.
I was stuck in recovery, now I have it booting with minimal apps in my nand of a stock rooted rom. (Minimal apps as in I have none of the system apps I uninstalled nor any user installed apps. Luckily I do have the android market)
However my underlying issue with the USB remains.
I am unable to connect it to a computer and have it recognized, whether the phone is booted (trying to mtp or whatever so I can see the files) or in adb or fastboot. The same error 43 comes across on both of my computers. The phone DOES charge via usb.
I'd like to return it to VZW claiming a broken usb, but the phone is still unlocked, and it shows the unlocked icon with the google splash screen. Is there anyway I can relock the thing and return it, or alternatively does anyone have any ideas on getting the usb working? I've tried both the pdanet method of drivers and the ones from the samsung site to no avail.
Thanks in advance!
You could try reinstalling the USB drivers. I'd suggest downloading pdanet on your computer and run the wizard.
Edit: I should have read your last paragraph. Sorry :/

[Q] I lost my USB Connection with a Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch SPH-D710

I just installed the new Android 4.0.4 TBASGIIIv1.8 ROM for my Epic 4G touch and lost the USB connectivity with Windows-7. My computer will no long recognized the phone when plugged into the USB port and it worked fine with the Android 4.0.3 ICS FD16 ROM. It use to come up in windows saying SPH-D710 with a pop-up windows and with this new rom installed it will no longer recognize the phone. Is this a simple fix or problem with the new ROM because I would like to be able to download some of my files using Samsung Kies?
What ROM is the? And where did you get it from (link)? Team Rejects? How did you flash?

Try to download the app USB switched make sure it's on mass storage
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
It’s the newest version of the ICS based custom ROM with the Galaxy S3 theme and all the detailed instruction are listed in this link: http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s2-epic-4g-touch-ics-custom-rom-galaxy-s3-theme-93959/
I downloaded the newest version 1.8 from this thread link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1673662
Everything works fine with the exception of the USB connectivity was lost and the computer will no longer recolonize the phone when attached via USB cable.
I download an app called USB switcher and made sure it’s on the mass storage but still inoperable.
When the USB cable connection is made the computer gives and audible note a will briefly flash a storage device for a second in the Computer – Devices with Removable Storage window then quickly disappears.
I’ve tried going back to the EL29 stock ROM about three times and the USB connection works fine with ICS Android 4.0.3 but doesn’t function at all with the latest ICS based custom ROM with the Galaxy S3 theme?
I'd first try to uninstall any samsung drivers you have on your PC then re-install them. Get em here http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.c...342248/Sprint_d710_USB_Driver_v1_3_2360_0.exe
Also try a different USB port AND cable.
If that fails I'd grab Mobile Odin from the market and download one of sfhub's one-clicks and install it (he has instructions for flashing from the phone on signature http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23478866&postcount=869 in his posts.)
---------- Post added at 10:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:29 PM ----------
Ah I see. probably disregard my last post then.
Use sfhub's autoroot package to enable mass storage http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24010029&postcount=889
That may work.
I tried uninstalling the drivers and reloading them a few times and even tried it on different computer.
I updated the Kernal using the PC based Odin3 v1.85 and flashed the EL26 stock CWM and might just have to try using the mobile version.

I had the same problem with my old et4g. I was running calks ics rom and kept getting the voltage to high notification and i wasnt even charging. And it also was no longer being recognized by the computer. Tried every fix. I went back to calks gb rom and still had the same problem with voltage notification and not being recognized. I tried to mobile odin back to a stock rom and it soft bricked my phone. It will only boot into recovery and i can get no where from there. Thought it may be the physical part itself so i ordered a new one and got my phone apart but the sprint version of the galaxy s2 is made into the board and im not quite sure what to desolder and solder

I just installed the latest stock FF18 Modem/Kernel/ROM and the USB connection works fine now.
My 4G signal sucks donkey balls on this FF18 ROM.
I tried just flashing the FG26 modem using this FF18 ROM but it's still a problem.
I'm going back to the FD26 ROM because that had the best 4G signal IMO.

You should still be able to use the download mode to flash the stock ROM using Odin OC without the phone being able to boot up?
The problem I always had was getting it to connect to the computer cause the USB port is jacked up. I finally jacked with it enough that it connects 1 time out of 5. Used the method u just linked and its back up and running. Hell yea. Thanx. Don't know what I'm gonna do with it now cause in already got a replacement and I don't think the ESPN is any good but I could always flash it to boost or something

Device USB Error on Windows 7 (Lost USB Connection)
After following this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721229) by sfhub, my machine won't recognize my phone via USB. It worked fine before when I rooted and installed CWM on the EL29 build. USB connection worked fine after upgrade to ICS FF18 as well. Only after running ODIN root did I have an issue reconnecting to install CWM.
Error from Windows states "Device Malfunction. Device cannot be recognized via USB..."
Tried reinstalling Samsung drivers and updating Windows. Nada. Any one else having this issue and/or have a resolution?

Galaxy Nexus Back to Stock with No USB

Galaxy Nexus(Verizon CDMA)
ICS 4.0.4
Build number: IMM30B
Unlocked
Not rooted
I was hoping someone here might be able to help me with my Galaxy Nexus. My Mac, PC, or Linux box won't recognize my phone anymore. I've tried multiple battery pulls, cords, driver updates(Windows 7), an have wiped the phone. My Nexus 7 is recognized by all 3 PCs so it seems like a phone issue.
When I first got the phone, it had 4.0.2 on it but the battery life was horrendous so I manually flashed 4.0.4 IMM30B instead of waiting for the official OTA. I have read on another thread that someone with the same version of ICS had the same USB issue. They ended up returning the phone. I have a feeling that this is software related and not hardware.
So my question is, is it possible for me to go back to stock 4.0.2. It seems like Odin and fastboot all need usb. I read that a factory format may be possible using a dialer code(*2767*3855#), but when I tried it it didn't do anything. Probably worth noting that I didn't take any backups before flashing.
only thing i know without a USB is mobile ODIN.

On you windows box, what do you see when you plugin your phone with the device manger window open? Is nothing detected at all?
Are you using the same cable between the nexus 7 adn the Gnex? If not, the cable you are using with your Gnex may be a charge only cable or it could be damaged.

[SOLVED] Unable to flash SGS3 T999, phone hangs on system.img.ext4

Greetings:
I have an SGH-T999 SGS3. It was running ICS.
When using Kies, I was offered the upgrade to Jellybean (LJA). The Kies update hung at 23%, for hours, repeatedly, and never exited.
I've now downloaded the root66 LJA system, and am trying to flash with ODIN. ODIN has now been stuck for an hour at system.img.ext4.
Can anyone help me get *anything* flashed to this phone, so I can get out of recovery mode please?
Thanks in advance!

To anyone having this problem, I fixed it by:
1. Using Odin307 instead of Odin185 AND
2. Using a different USB cable.
I don't know which of those two things fixed it, since I tried both at once, but that fixed it.
The entire update took 6 minutes once I changed those two things.
Thanks!
Glen
It takes a lot of time to flash system.img.ext4. I think it may take less or more time based on your computer and other factors. Just let it flash and wait. Mine took about 1.5 hour.

Okay, started at 3:34 PM Pacific time. Still stuck (but not failed, interesting) at 4:37 PM (one hour so far.) I will advise.
This is on an HP Pavilion dv7-2173cl with a fresh load of Windows 8, no bloatware other than the stock stuff. (A similar attempt on an HP dv7-2043cl running Windows 7 also appeared to stick at the same point, but I only waited 30 minutes before giving up.)
By comparison, and just for interest, my international SGS3, I9300, updated over Kies in about 4 minutes, on the same computer. So I would be interested to know why an I9300 goes so fast, and a T999 goes so slow, if there are any ideas...

I experience this problem when I use a non-samsung usb cable(Vibrant and S3). It would always freak me out, because it would stay for hours and would usually end up in a soft brick.
all I've used on any of my Android phones is a cheap Blackberry-brand usb cable from Amazon. I think it was $2.00 or so. Hasn't failed me yet :good:
I would bet that it was probably just your very old version of Odin, honestly.

I would bet that it is the USB cable. I tried flashing stock on my Verizon Note 2 and nothing happened after 90 minutes. I spent three hours flashing nothing happened. I was using the box included Samsung cable, then I read this thread so I might as well try it. I got my sister's HTC Incredible 2 cable and what would you know it was done in under 5 minutes. Next time i flash i am going to have a tower of cables next to me

Flashing a full image through Odin should take 10-15 minutes tops. Is the phone connected as a USB 2.0 device? Sometimes the buggy drivers will put it into 1.0 mode.

SCH-I605 Flash Fails with Odin
I am having a similar issue with my Note II. I tried to flash a new bootloader to facilitate the installation of the KitKat based Ditto Note 3 rom. I, in my failure to read 6 posts down, used mobileOdin to try and accomplish this. My phone is now a plush, soft brick. I can get into download mode. Given this, I have been trying to flash my phone using Odin for windows only to have it fail every time. I have tried different roms, partitions, bootloaders, versions of Odin, PCs, cables and even a couple of different poses. I am not new to rooting and roms, every android device I own is rooted and running custom roms. Any help from those who are definitely more knowledgeable than myself (the XDA community) would be GREATLY appreciated.

Actually, dont use the latest. Try a few versions back. The latest, while it should still work, was built for the S5/Note3/Gear. It included significant changes as I understand it. Also in your case driver version doesn't matter. Some have had to try several before getting it to work. Sometimes the original works better than any newer ones.
Good luck with it though!

I can not find any fast charge setting. I am starting to worry that I might have damaged the phone. I hope I just need to re-flash a driver or something.
Thank you!
make sure you're using the factory cable for the device.
try another USB port, preferably a port directly connected to the computers motherboard.
delete the current USB drivers for your phone on the computer. reboot it. in task manager, stop any kies background processes. reinstall drivers. reboot and see if that takes.

Did you make a nandroid of the previous rom ? Flash back to that . Flashing any rom made for the NA version of the Galaxy s3 will NOT brick your phone. NO physical damage will happen in any way.
Yes check the cord to make sure its not that....samsung phones are picky....even with the same cord.
Fast charge is usually in the kernel settings menu. It will be something you would had to enable, I've never seen it come enabled on a rom. What kernel are you on ? I don't think you see that setting on TW based rom's anyway ( I assume you are on SoA right now?)
Have you tried to do a complete wipe and flash another rom ?

I restored the Sons of Android ROM (nandroid) that was still on my external SD card and that didnt fix it.
I just did a complete wipe (Cache, Davlik Cache, System, Factory Reset, and Internal Memory), then installed the Wicked ROM with the stock kernel. It still doesnt work.
I tried two different cord on two different computers with no luck.
Thank you!
Is your usb debugging enabled?

USB Debugging is currently enabled, but I have tried it both ways.
I also am noticing my data connection is really, really slow, much slower than normal. I looked under the Synergy ROM and there was some talk of needing to reflash modem and bluetooth when reverting to a stock kernel. Could this be the problem?
Thanks!
You could try mobile Odin and flash the rooted stock that way... Its a shot
You have to use a .tar file though

Can you you give me some more info on Mobile Odin? I have never heard of it.
Last night I flashed the KT747 kernel because it has updated USB drivers, but it still didnt work.
I still have to believe that something went wrong when flashing the other night because that is when it stop work, but I am starting to think it is a hardware issue. It is very wierd!
Thank you!
Do you get any error when plugging it? I had a similar issue last week until I updated Windows.

Nope, no error message. It just doesnt reconize it is there. I have tried three computers (Windows 7 - 64 Bit & (2) XP 32 Bit) and three different cords.
This sucks! Now I am hearting it from all the iPhone users.
Thanks!

Try this, same thing was happening to me on a rooted stock rom. The steps listed here helped me reconnect phone to PC.

I hope we are getting closer!
When is use the *#7284#, I get the UART section that is on PDA and I cant change it.
Under the USB section I have button that says "Qualcomm USB Settings" with a whole punch of options:
MTP
MTP + ADB
PTP
PTO + ADB
RNIS + DM + MODEM
RMNET + DM + MODEM
DM + MODEM + ADB
Should I use one of these settings?
Thank you!

You should have two options, MODEM and PDA. Mine is set to MODEM.
Still no luck! Very Frustrating!
I used Mobile Odin to flash back completely to stock, and the usb still would not connect. I do not know what else to do. I will have to remove the SD Card and use a card reader for now. I can flash back to stock when if I want to take it in and get it fixed or replaced.
