As topic says, I'm having issues with Droidhen games, two in particular: LD: Shrine and Defender 2.
Since I often flash new ROMs I always keep my datas backuped with Titanium Backup, but these two games seems don't like this. When I restore the datas the games let me always start over, as if I had no save at all.
any suggestion how to keep my save games?
Thanks in advance!

I'm hating it with a passion and I don't know if its something that I may be missing. I purchased the full version and use it to ''Backup Apps + Data'' since I know that backing up system data screws up your phone.
Everytime I switch ROMs I run ''restore apps + data'' and upon completion I run into a ton of force closes and terrible lag issues. I also notice that the lag happens when I'm browsing on 4g. (the force closes happen all the time with almost all the apps)
I end up downloading all my apps all over again and losing my achievements and progress in games. I beat Angry Birds in like 2 days and now I have to do it again.
By the way I always download the busybox in the problems link in titanium backup. I always wipe dalvik and factory reset in between ROMs.

I only get problems when I restore system apps, If I just restore user apps there is no problem. dont restore system data, it will overwrite the good new stuff in the new rom you just flashed and frankenstein it into both the old and the new, hence yhe fc's
sounds like you're restoring something you shouldn't. Don't just do a batch restore, make sure that you're only restoring the apps you want.
Different roms work with different version of wireless tether, spare parts, etc. Just as ZJ mentioned, you restore something that a new rom changed and it could cause problems.
Also, be careful switching between Sense and AOSP Roms, even with just user apps. People have had problems with that. But going from AOSP rom to AOSP rom, I've never had a problem. (I have the paid version, and I switch back and forth constantly.)
I wouldn't say that I've lost faith in TB, but I have never really been a big fan of it. The only things I b/u with TB is Angry Birds, and bookmarks. Everything else I b/u to Astro, or just re-d/l from the market. I try to do a clean install from the market whenever switching ROMS to avoid any data issues.
I use it every time I do a rom to restore all my apps and certain system data. The green things are typically OK to restore to any LIKE rom (sense or ASOP)
Restore like sms messages, bluetooth, wireless, etc.
Don't restore the red stuff.
Ok I will try some of those suggestions.

GQ- I feel your pain. I only just recently started flashing roms and I experienced the exact problem you described.
I went from stock to CM6.1 At first it was nice and fast. After I did the batch Titanium restore it started to get really laggy!
Like someone suggested don't restore important system related stuff (such as system settings) I actually ended up using MyBackUp Pro because it seemed to restore with less stability issues.
Another good idea IMO is to d/l a screen saver app. You can find them in the market. Take a pic of each of your home screens so that you can copy them exactly when you flash your new ROM. Just a lil something I personally do...
Does titanium not work well with an Apps2Sd?

I'm very anal about my home screen and have it set up the same way regardless of what ROM I use. It's easy for me to remember because I prefer using 3 screens. I just notice lag when scrolling through my apps or random force closes on apps I use often. Like you mentioned before I only do a batch backup of installed apps and then I restore apps + data only (not system data).
The mistake I was probably making was having the restore overwrite the newer/existing versions of the same app that came with the ROM I just flashed.
I have noticed when I do a titanium full batch app & all data restore my emails will not auto sync. I have to open and refresh to get it to work.
Ok. My wife plays alot of Angry Birds. Like several hours a day. And has all stars on the original, and RIO.
But she has had issues of late with Seasons. It just refuses to open and she has to either wipe the data or uninstall and reinstall. Either way she losses all her stars and has to start over.
I haven't really got into the Birds, but I feel her pain. I have painful memories of a corrupted FFVII save file back in the PS1 days. A mate and I had invested several hundred hours into leveling up enough to defeat the Ruby Weapon. Only to lose it all. Sad sad day for all involved........
Sorry I digress.
Where was I? Ah yes. Does this happen often on the android system? Is there any way to lessen the chances of corrupted save data? Like converting the file system or something? She is on Darky's 9.5. With system lagfix ect.
I have setup Titanium Backup for her to save occasionly so she doesn't have to start over. But it just seems odd that only seasons has this issue?
And truth be told. I have not had a corrupt data issue with my phone EVER! And I've been on the same ROM (darky's 9.5) since it was released. That's quite a few months with no re-flash/fresh install ect.
Has anyone experienced any data corruption issues. Could it be here internal SD card is on its way out?

Exactly the same thing happened to me on AB Seasons.
I read on Rovio's site and according to them the only way to fix this is uninstall, reinstall and restore data from a previous time before the app crashed, even if a new update comes it wont fix the problem..It happened to me when i had 10 stars left to complete the game so i know what she's feeling..
I hope this "helps"
Thanks for the reply mate. Good to hear its a issue with the app and not a hardware or software issue with the phone itself.
Cheers

Same thing just happened to me with Rio. Guess I'm going to be using Rio Backup religiously from here on out.
Same problem here.
Before update the latest Rio i did a backup using Rio backup app.Worked no problem.
Then updated the 1.6 angry birds and install the combined angry birds backup app. Installed, played one level and put backup back in and black screen.
Tried to reinstall 1.5.2 (i think it was) and then tried the backup and didnt work, re-installed 1.6.1 (which at least booted) and tried the backup and no chance, black screen again. Had full stars apart from on the new mine and dine. Still have the backup files but just started again
Reason why i havent updated angry birds seasons.
SGS1.
try to uninstall and restore app+data and then update
Make sure you restore data from previous version or it wont work. GL ,i deleted angry birds after my big disappointment!
So.... I would like to know if titanium backup is going to save my game saves, for games like zenonia and drag racing, I've spent quite a few hours on them in the past few weeks and really don't want to loose my progress.
From what I've read, lots of people's saved games do not get backed up through titanium backup.
Is there another way to backup my saved files, and be guaranteed to keep my progress intact?
I have root, I'm running ARHD 5.1.7 and I want to upgrade to 5.2.3.
Thanks in advanced, PixelVandal.
Oh, it's kind of urgent.
I want to update my rom before I go on holidays tomorrow.
Usually, all games store their save state in system/data or sdcard data. Titanium Backup can back up the app and data simultaneously, so you shouldn't be worry about it. In special occasion, some games generate save data by creating their own folder in sdcard. By keeping the game folder untouched will preserve the save data.
Btw, zenonia 2 has online save data storage. Super convenient

with games like angry birds, where are the saves stored? i would like to see if i can transfer to another android phone to see if the saves would work.
are all game saves in similar places or are they everywhere in the storage?
Depends are you changing to an entirely different device? Well you can always try to back up with data. Then restore with data. If it force closes when you restore then no go sorry
Your best bet is to use something like titanium backup.

i am moving saves from my phone to my tablet, both android but different version.
i want to at least try moving it to see if it works. cause why would they (game maker) make different save formats for different versions of android?
Titanium Backup Pro. Just save the User Data and not the System and restore it when you insert the micro sd into the phone.
Hi All. First time poster. I've been an iOS guy since the 3GS, but over the last 6 months or so started to look at moving away from Apple due to their price structure. After picking up a N7 2 for a fraction of the cost of an rMini, I couldn't be happier and might never go back to Apple. I'm still getting use to the differences between the ecosystems and the differences in how things worked. It's amazing how many things are different.
The one nice thing I liked about Apple/iTunes/iOS was the way you could backup a device and when you restored it even GUI preferences were restored. So if you had a News folder all your news apps were in the folder in the same location on the screen.
I've done some searching, and I know there are some third party apps that do local backups but I haven't been able to find if there is anything, including the stock Google backup, that will do a backup to include system settings to the same level of detail as iTunes did. Can someone point me in the right directions? Does Titanium Backup do this? What all does the stock backup program backup? When you restore an Android device is it smart enough to redownload all the apps that were on the device? Is there a part of this question that I'm missing?
System settings don't get restored for the most part. This is due to it causing problems (especially when flashing ROMs). Homescreens can be saved if you use a third party launcher such as nova or apex. Titanium can backup system apps like settings and restore it, but that can cause major issues, so just avoid it. Stock backup can backup apps, photos, pretty much just core things. When restoring, there's an option to allow the device to restore all your apps.

So what I'm hearing is that if you want to make sure that you get a good restore it's best to always start from scratch.

Not always. The restoring of apps is usually only an issue with restoring data of ones that were used on ICS and then you flashed a jb ROM. I've always restored app and data with titanium and never had an issue. Just don't do that with system apk's.
