Not sure if this has been brought up or not yet, but im curious to see if anyone is running into a similar issue, and what they did to solve it ...
Randomly, its only happened to me 3 times thus far, my back, home, and windows key do not show up. Everything else works, i just cant close out of apps or anything like that.
Any suggestions, ultimately I just power cycle, however if someone has an easier fix Id like to use that.
Sometimes they minimize to little glowing dots and just click them to open them up. Sorry if that's not it.

Just happened to me in Angry Birds. Screen off then on fixed it. Weird though.

My completely vanish from time to time and what ever app im in goes full screen. That is followed by a pop-up stating the the System UI has stopped.. I just keep clicking on OK and then after a few mins it goes away.
Hi Guys,
about 10 times a day or so, I hear my phone vibrate (phone is on vibrate at work).
When I unlock the screen, I have a "complete action using pop-up" with dropbox, gmail and skype as the options.
Another user did some investigation by clicking on gmail to see what exactly it's sending and it looks to be an error report to google.
Anyone else experienced this?
i've experienced this too, dont know the cause though
BUMP.
Anyone else getting this at all?
Running AOKP Build 26 4.0.3 and Franco Kernel.
Cheers
Yeah its data logging. Caused by holding both volume and power I think it is. You can turn it off in aokp in general UI settings

I got it too..I'm pretty sure it is not generated by holding both volume keys and power.
It appears random. What is that? It's a sort of issue log.
Any way to desactivate it?
I have the same issue running 4.0.4. I believe a program keeps automatically taken screen shots of my GN
This is happening to me... any solution?
Another victim.
Another one here.
I'm on Stock 4.0.4 and Franco's Kernel.
If I stop to think, I guess this started to happen since I started using MoDaCo leaked 4.0.4 that comes with Franco's Kernel.
So I guess it might be Kernel or 4.0.4 fault.
The bad thing is that the supposed error log have nothing interesting.
definitely 4.0.4... I'm running stock.
it happens if u press the volume button in between Up and Down (in the middle) and power at the same time for a second or so
try and u will see the report appearing after a minute or so
solution: when u want to unlock ur phone, just press the power button
Its ICS's bug mailer and is, to be honest, flawed. Its trying to send a bug report to Google. Use root explorer, mount as r/w and rename bugmailer.sh to bugmailer.sh.old, save and reboot. Should stop it hapenning anymore. Its more of an annoyance then anything useful IMO. I used to get 5-6 a day but never saw or come across any crashes or problems. Rename and enjoy the phone

never happened to me..also it doesn't send reports to anyone, because u have to put the email address..its a developer feature to show u a lot of debug information
are u sure u are not pressing both volume (in the middle) and power when waking up the phone? thats the cause

Granted, you don't have to send it to Google, but my point stands. It flares up, on occasions, all too often. If anyone has no desire to read it, disable it. It serves no purpose unless you actively wish to send it to anyone for any reason.

OMG! It did work!
I think that it might be due to the case!
I'll try killyouridols script renaming approach now.
After about a day of use my touch screen thinks any touch is a long press and thus I can't scroll in apps. When I try to scroll it think I'm holding down my finger - in calendar for instance I can't scroll through days, it thinks I am trying to add an event to the day I'm on. In BBC I can't scroll through articles it think I'm right click on the article etc.
Rebooting fixes the issue, but it happens every single day. Any idea what could be going on?
I have the same issue running 10.1 on an HTC One XL. Did you ever find the solution?

did either of you try wiping data/cache/dalvik and reflashing the rom and gapps?
I wiped and installed from scratch originally. I'll try reflashing the rom and gapps and wiping the cache again. I'd rather not lose everything but I'll do it as a last resort. Thanks.

I have had the same problem periodically. I update cm10.1 every morning and it has only happend to me on certain updates, rebooting solves the problem. However, with it happening every day maybe try a different update? Works for me, you might get something out of it.
those single press becomes long press is a known bug from android source code, wait for google to fix it.
the only current fix is to reboot your phone, though it's only temporary.

or flash a different ROM in the mean time. I've used both root box and AOKP with no issues with the long presses. I specifically stopped using cm because of that bug.

It'd be a little more useful if you could describe or maybe record it?

Screen luck/unlock sound?
Good evening, just lately I have encountered a bug when trying to install APK's. When I go to install via Package Installer it will open up the screen and when I go to press next it doesn't do anything, I have tried rotating the screen and pressing Next and it just doesn't work whatsoever...
I powered off my device and powered back on and this seemed like it fixed the problem.
Is/has anyone else encountered this? I've also noticed ometimes when typing on the keyboard the sound goes tinny for 5 seconds or so and go back to normal, it's been like this since unboxing too.
I haven't had this issue exactly, but when I install a new app and it asks for permission to access my location/storage/etc.. I can't press Allow.. I can press Deny though no problem at all. Right now I'm manually going into apps/permissions and granting all my apps whatever I think it needs.. Just a pain to do it that way though!
I had this issue the other night. It seems an invisible overlay gets stuck sometimes. Not sure what app or why, but clearing all the recent apps fixed it for me. Try that if it happens again instead of waiting for the phone to restart.

Also had this problem two days ago and restarting seemed to fix it. I was disabling some of the stock apps at the time so I wondered if that had something to do with it but I don't know, don't think I re-enabled any of the apps or anything before or after the reboot and so far it's been working since.

Thanks for your feedback and I have also had that problem too. Of course yes we can go into app settings and enable and like you stated it's a pain haha. I know this isn't the place to point these problems out and get them fixed but it's nice to know I'm not the only one ??

Yes dude, that's correct and thanks for that valuable information I do clean my cache regularly and can't say I've come across the problem for a while, so thanks again.

I'd like to mention I have disabled and uninstalled quite a lot too, but I can't say if this adds to the problem. It'd just be really nice to hopefully get the new build of software that was recently announced on Xperia Blog but I can't say if this will fix the problems etc. I don't know? ??

I've experienced this issue as well and the culprit seemed to be an overlay permission from another app. As I'm sure everyone knows, this phone's screen is very bright even at it's lowest setting. I like to read at night and the light bothers my wife so I started using an app called Nightowl that further dims the screen. Nightowl produces a overlay that dims the entire screen. If i happen to be running nightowl and try to install the app, I can't tap install. Once I turn off the app I'm able to install like normal. Hope that helps lead you in the right direction as restarting the phone every time a problem presents itself is kind of a bummer.
