[Q] Goggle Play stuck at Downloading - HTC One V

After rooting my One V, everything went okay, but I am not able to download anything from the Play Shop.
To get rid of this problem, I tried:
- restarting
- clear data/cache
- uninstall all updates
- factory reset
But still doesn't want to download anything. It stucks at "downloading". I have seen, that this is a common problem in the android scene, but I am wondering if there is any solution for it?

Ohh, and it is now saying it is error 495, and for the secod attempt is error 500.

Replace the play store from your system/app with the attached one if you have root explorer or another app
Don't forget to set the right permissions

Thanks for the answer. I have only one problem. I want to copy the apk and the odex file, but total commander says couldnt create target files. (I have granted superuser permission)

Go to the total commander options and check root functions everywhere and enable read write on the bottom of page, see attachments

I did these steps, but when I'd like to apply those permissions, it says a faliure, unable to chmod this app. What should I do?
And it says read only file system...

If still doesn't work, flash in recovery the latest google application from here http://db.tt/XlVzwadJ

Ok, i have completed these permissions thingy, but now i have a cross device link error, when copying the apk to the root folder...

After flashing the zip you linked here, i started the store, and once again, it stucks at downloading, but only over wifi. It works with my carriers data connection. What could cause this problem?

Which is you software version?

I guess this is the latest version for asia, correct me if i'm wrong.
The only way to solve this is to flash again the latest RUU available for your region after relocking the bootloader and return to stock boot and recovery, make sure to make a nandroid backup and after flashing restore data only.

I went back to the stock rom, and GP Store still stuck on downloading...
Now, I am updating my asian system software, because my phone has found one, but if that doesn't cure it, I am waiting for new tips.
So, it wont work, so I am waiting for those tips

I havent had that in mind

Oh, and by the way, is there any method to setup a european ruu to an original asian phone? Maybe that will fix my problem.

Just clear date from Google framework services then remove your Google account then replace it, everything should work fine then, make sure the play store isn't running when you do this, hope this works ut does for everyone else

Hey Luke,
Been experiencing this problem ever since i got this phone, i've now tried every firmware update possible, no real fix as yet. I suspected it had something to do with the fact that i moved from a Nexus One with Froyo back to Eclair, but it sounds like you haven't done that.
Let me know if you find a fix... would love to be able to use my market the way it was intended.

Thanks for the tip but it did not work. I'm having a problem where the imei number on the phone using *#06# is different to the case imei. I don't get how the numbers changed, but would desperately appreciate if someone could tell me how to match them up again?
I also have a problem with try to correct by changing .imei in /system /efs to match case imei but after reboot it keep changing back.

I already had 2 crash/freeze with this kernel, it looks definitely unstable.
2 crashes situation :
1/ Pressing stop/play in xiialive lite
2/ listening audio in the standard mp3 player.
It crashed both time using the audio device.
I waited 1min the first time, hoping OOm killer or something else would kill a bad behaving process; without success.
The second time, i did not had time to loose :/
Very disapointing !
2 days after installing JS2 I'm still unable to connect to Market.
I'm unable to setup the Google login. Error is always no server available or something in that manner. Selecting clearing cache in recovery also did not help either.
Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
Thanks.
If you are not able to login to the market, then you will have a general problem..
Because you can even login if you dont have the market fix..
The market fix is just for secure apps...

Everything should be stock - Rom and Recovery for Universal Exploit to work.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk 2
Ok, so I ran the tool choosing 'Universal Exploit' and 'Flash HBOOT Image' and it all goes swimmingly until the device reboots. I get taken to the phone+red triangle warning screen and a 'cannot find file' error pops up (see attached image file).
Any ideas? Device is defo set to USB Debugging mode. Was plugged in as 'Charge Only' - should this suffice? Or should it be connected via HTC Sync or something else?
Cheers for any help OP.
P.S. Was able to reboot 'phone fine, so nothing bad has happened

OK, so I tried your app again but this time didn't bother with Flash HBOOT Image and everything appeared to go OK.
However, I noticed in the log that 3 of the files (Busybox, su and Superuser.apk) had failed to copy across (out of memory?), despite the operation apparently having been completed (see attached jpg).
Also, when the device had rebooted, I tried to use the Application Status Bar and received the following error message:
"application Status Bar (process com.android.systemui) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
Click to collapse
The above message also contained a 'Force Close' button which on pressing obviously disables the Status Bar.
The device is still working, other than this error, but I'm not seeing any change to root capability - guessing it's because Busybox, su and Superuser failed to copy across? Could I just copy them on to the device manually?
Cheers in advance for any info.
Free up some memory on your device and be sure to delete everything in /data/local/tmp also. I will add error checking for the out of memory error in next release.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk 2
Unfortunately, after doing the above, running the app is still giving the same error and the Application Status Bar is also still giving the same error.
To make doubly sure, I backed up my device and restored it to Factory Settings (which cured the original app Status Bar error). This also meant that all data was erased from the device so memory shouldn't be an issue. However, as said above, the app is still returning the same memory error?
I'm happy to keep giving this a go so let me know your thoughts.
Hopefully we'll get to the bottom of it.

It's not fake and as a recognised developer in the xda community I can safely say there is no possible way my app can brick your device unless you flash an incorrect hboot which then is your own fault and risk!

Don't worry, chap, I don't think there's anything fake about what you're trying with this app. Unlike the person above who claimed you were. I mean, £500 to un-brick a Wildfire S?!?! You could probably buy 4 of them brand new for that amount of cash!
Is it worth me giving your updated version of the app another go? If the app finds an error with HTC patching the exploit will the app simply terminate and return my device to its original state?
Any info greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

[Q] Process com.google.process.gapps has stopped... help!!!

First of all, sorry if this has been covered but I couldn't find any solution that seems related to this problem or phone (I get some search hits for the S3).
So I have been getting this message and I think sync is screwed up. I can't say exactly how but, for example, I used to get an email on the mail manager and the gmail notification would be gone. Now I get both and both stay on.
The only solution I found while searching is going to settings (and here's my probably faulty translation from S3 to the HOX) --> Apps --> -->all--> Download manager and enable it. Well, mine is enabled and I still get the error... Help???
Looks like gapps (Google play... ect) wasnt installed properly. Try reinstalling the proper gapps package for your rom.

process.google.gapps has stopped
Hi guys. I know that some of the proposed solution is to enable the downloads. For note 2 users this problems continues to happen. There is 2 downloads app for note 2 and both of them are enabled. I tried to disable the download app with the icon pointing downward and enable the download app with the Android logo. Fortunately, the process.com.google.gapps has stopped is not yet popping for two days now.
I hope this will help. Thanks!
Well, "downloads" says it runs in the same process as "download manager" and has access to contacts. I think it's the contacts sync that caused this one my HOX but I didn't get any more error messages after reinstalling the gapps package.
EDIT: Emails often gave me problems too and that was the worst of it as it syncs with gmail a lot more often than contacts do.
I think that this issue has few ways to be solved, because the process is related to some google apps and services. I tried almost everything I read, but finally the solution was when I deleted my Google account and readded. I think my phone contacts got somehow messed up and syncing crashed the process. So final for me - delete Google account and add again was the solution.

Get root, all your problems will be solved... Cheers
this helped me.
1. download root browser
2. look for the folder named etc
3. open it and locate a .txt file named host
4 open host and u will see two ip nos. like
127.0.0.1
127.432.23.750 (plus other things written there)
5. dnt mind them.... just add a # sign infront of the ip number below. just like this
#127.432.23.750
6. save the text file and then restart your phone.
