What has your one x replaced - HTC One X

With it amazing abilities what has your one x replaced?
Mine has replaced my iPod touch which I never go on now, My old desire and for many cases my laptop. Sometimes the one x is all I need for my entertainment needs
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium

Mines replaced my on the go music player it's decent for listening to and from work.
My PC and laptop at times use it instead of those for web browsing when louching about.
My TV at times I can stream from my Vu Duo box when in my bedroom and can watch my recordings or live tv.
My kindle, I still use my kindle but I can sync and carry on reading wherever I am.
My camera for on the go shots only take a camera when on holiday or going to a social event or such.
Generally speaking for other smartphones as well it's given me a portable sat nav can open up Google maps and get directions easily.
Basically any smartphone can perform most of the above.

@OP you've made the right choice.
I upgraded from an HTC Desire (the 1st one) and haven't looked back. ICS works beautifully, the phone feels so fast and smooth. As for build quality it is great. Don't be put off by some people saying it feels cheap, its certainly not the case and feels very well made indeed.

My one has crashed 3 times within the last 5 days, nothing to worry about though, I think it's software related.
All in all I am very pleased with my purchase, I also have a SGSII which was my best phone to date, I prefer the Nexus though
I wasn't sure whether to wait for the next HTC phone to come out or go for the gn but my misses it hers today an I'm liking it, nice feel to it and the screen seems excellent
The only things now is the lack of SD card for mass storage connection and the phone speaker itself seems fairly low

Should I got this phone?

Hi all,
I have been using a HTC Desire Z. I was wondering if it is a worthy upgrade to the One X? My main dislikes are the non removable battery and no micro SD card. Is there other features would convince me to get this device?

U can upgrade to One X as it has all the good features like TEGRA 3, Quad Core, Good Battery Life, Good Performance as compared to many other phone as I've seen the Benchmark Results
Its a good phone for Entertainment, Gaming, Socialising, Busines & Everything that wherever U go u wont feel like ( O i'm missing this feature or.... hmmm).
Nothing special about this phone.

It looks good and feels good in the had but im afraid it breaks easily+if it wasnt for our devs this phone would lag like as if it was htc inspire. Is just annoying ow htc doesnt care at all and the funny thing is the way how they address the issues, instead of admitting their fault and trying to fix things they act like as if they are a alreadg highly established brand that is a leading supplier in the industry and no matter what they do still customers will buy their phone but truth is that customers might buy their phone once but when they see they got screwed because their quad core phone performs like a normal phone and pieces start to fall slowly then they go to samsung which btw is way much more dev friendly

Define "special" in the context of a phone. It has the best screen out there, the CPU for which all the best games are optimized, the best UI OEMs ever made, build quality is superb, battery lasts for 5 hours when watching movies... I guess you thought it will also do your laundry and now you are disappointed of it not being that "special".
To OP: I came from Desire HD which was referred as the "big brother" of the Z. I am really happy with my purchase. Though having ICS with sense 4 on the DHD, the difference in the screen and the overall experience is amazing. That's all I can tell you.

In 1 word: ABSOLUTELY
In more words: Your issues with non removable battery and no micro SD card are irrelevant, cuase it has excellent battery (will get even better with SW updates) & 32 GB onboard + 25GB Dropbox + SKYDRIVE + GoogleDrive. And the phone has some CLASS. Definitely UPGRADE.
Well thing is 3G in Australia isn't very good and I do believe that storage will be in the cloud in the future. I personally have stopped using the Sense UI since its so bloated.

Easy peasy. You unlock it via HTCDev. But just for the Tegra model. The US version from AT&T is a world of hurt.

Future use

My trusted HTC Desire is now my backup phone, after investing in a Galaxy Note.
In the end the limited RAM forced me to delete apps when i wanted to install something new.
So now I have to find me some other new use for the device (it still works just fine)
The screen is just too small to make it into a handy eBook Reader.
I can definitely use it as a remote control for my computer (GRemote) and as a music player (I have a BT connector to my stereo).
What are some other practical uses for it now that it has been relegated to being a backup phone?
I turned my old desire into a web server... Lol

Navigation. Also as a cheap phone to take it with you on a beach and not worry about someone stealing it.
I plan to keep my desire even if I buy a new phone. Just in case if the new phone needs servicing or maybe if I don't like it and want to exchange...
I will never sell my desire.

While I concur there is something limited, it certainly is no RAM in this scenario you described.

I'm not selling mine either. I have bought a prepaid SIM card for it so if needed I can use it as a backup phone, as for navigation the Galaxy Note is far ahead due to respond time and large screen size.
One idea I'm tossing around is as a kitchen aid, recipes and cooking videos.

I meant the phone memory whee you need to leave some part of the app even when you move it to the SDcard, I always thought that was part of the phone's RAM.

I thought HTC were stopping this crap with flooding the market with phones?
I currently have an Inspire "4G". Where Im sitting, the VX looks pretty good. Not only is it an increase in screen size and processor specs, but also provides a front camera i've been missing since i lost my iphone. To top it all off, its only $50. I know the One X+ looks great and all, the VX just might be more of what i need. I don't watch movies on my phone(i use my ipad), and I HATE touch screen gaming, so yeah, i think this may be my next upgrade.

I'm in the same boat as you, I think 5.7" is too big , but unlke you, I do watch movies and play games in the phone , but I'm missing the front facing camera , even thought the specs on this one are low. A least I'll have one now , I don't have to flip the phone when I'm using tango
Just putting it out there , I check a few stores , and they don't have it . I wonder if is available . Or is on hold , or some stuff like that
$29.99 at my local mall at&t kiosk
pretty sweet little phone. can't wait til the devs get a crack at it
I'm also using an HTC DHD. I'm running AOKP JB 4.2.2and am really happy that the devs have supported that phone for so long, but I'm ready for an upgrade.
At this moment the One VX is 99¢ at ATT online. Naturally I came here first to see what the community has been doing with the device. The early lack of support is keeping my wallet closed for now.
..maybe.
