Hi,
My physical buttons were barely working, so after I done a little searching, I used a flex remover on them. The buttons are now fixed, however I forgot my common sense and didn't cover the screen. Now I have a white band on the lower part of the screen. It's like a transparent shape, and it's only observable on bright colors. Any suggestions on how could I fix it?

I have read other threads about users noting that the "glow" around the four buttons along the bottom of the screen is excessive but likely normal. My new white gs2 also has a couple little "lines" or bands of light when the keys are lit between the outer bezel and the screen. They're only a millimeter long or so but was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and could, perhaps, post a pic of their white gs2 in the dark with the touch buttons illuminated.
Thanks
There is a blue tinted 'smear' in the left center of my phone. I removed my screen protector and realized it wasn't a smudge. It's the screen itself. It doesn't appear in screen shots either. It's apparent with white background.
I also noticed increasingly more dark shadows in my screen when pitch black screens or loading screens show up. They're hard to describe. It's like seeing a lcd with bleeding light but in various smears or shapes.
I've had this since I got the phone on launch day but since then I've noticed the number increase.
I thought maybe I've banged it too much or pressure in my pocket. But I never keep anything in my pocket with my phone besides my leather wallet occasionally. I also had a flip cover too which makes it weirder.
This is a samsung screen thing...most amoled screens have this... I belive its the glue or somthing...if u turn ur screen all the way down and use a screen filter to lower the brightness even more.. it should show up on blacks...there is a thread somewhere buried in qna with same issue.

Hi
Please can anyone tell me which bit of the inside of the phone (or the back cover?) relates to the capacative button brightness?
I changed my back cover from black to white and after doing so the middle button of the three is VERY dim. It looks like it's not lit at all but if I look at it in the dark it is actually still lit but extremely dimly. I was really careful when taking the phone apart but I must have disturbed something that controls these buttons. The two on either side are nice and bright as normal. I have no idea which bit I should be looking at to try to fix it.
I'd be very grateful for any help.

FIXED
In case anyone stumbles upon this in the future with the same problem the fix was really simple. I located the flex with the lights attached at the bottom, lifted it up and there was a thin black sticky band underneath which I assume was used to hold the flex cable down. Part of the black tape had covered the light, therefore making it less bright. I used tweezers to pull it away and lay it flat and all my lights were of equal brightness again. Simples!
I just replaced the screen on my HTC One M8. The top 1/4 of the screen became unresponsive. I followed a youtube video, disassembled, replaced the screen and then reassembled. Everything went great. new screen works perfectly. Later o noticed that one of the corners was "popped up" I can press it down and it seats for a moment and then pops up again. The screen is lifted just a tiny amount, but it's enough to bleed light out through the sides. Any fix for this? Can i use a small amount of super glue to secure it? The bottom of the screen has a black HTC bar. I feel like gluing it should be OK as you wont see it under the black bar. Any advice or links to other fixes are appreciated.
Hi,
I've just noticed that on the left hand side of my screen I have a vertical bar around 2mm wide that looks corrupted in some way - like filled with horizontal hatched lines that I'm assuming are defective pixels or similar. It's a bit hard to describe, and even harder to get a decent photo of the problem. The attached is the best I could do.
The issue seems to be there all of the time, but is less noticeable on solid white / black backgrounds than it is on block colours.
Is this likely to be hardware issue, and would it be covered under UK warranty?
Thanks

That definitely looks like a faulty panel. Nothing like that on my 10 (Carbon Grey, Tianma).
I'd get in touch with HTC UK and see what they think.
I have exactly the same issue and i've had my phone a week. I didn't notice it at first but it's definitely more noticeable on non white backgrounds, i've checked it with a screen tester which you can go through blocks of colour with. I also have the same slight dip in the top left.
How has your warranty claim gone with HTC? I'm going to try phoning them up today. I bought my phone from Very.co.uk but would rather deal directly with HTC.
Following this as well as I have stuck pixels in the middle of the screen. Very have been difficult to deal with so I'd really like to know how things go with HTC UK
Hey just as a follow up. very.co.uk refunded me with no questions asked. They don't do replacements so you have to re-order.
