[Q]How To Restore - fotaclient2.apk - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Ive deleted fotaclient2.apk via Titanium Backup and i dont have a back up of this system app.
Ive noticed that since i'd deleted this app, software update settings on my phone doesnt work.
Is there a chance for easily restoring this system app aside from flashing a rom?
Thanks

Firmware Flash with ODIN without losing installed apps

Hi there,
I just got my galaxy yesterday, I've read through the FAQs and searched the web but couldnt figure out how to flash the Galaxy without losing the installed apps. I read that the internal SD isnt touched but when I checked the JP3 build my device lost all installed apps.
So in case I want to revert back to another or try another firmware, what switch would I need to set not reconfiguring everything from scratch? If this isnt possible are there any other ways to quickly restore all apps I've installed?

edit: as samsung-firmwares seems to be down, does anyone have a UK O2 stock firmware image available?
Use Rom manager, from there you can backup/reflash and keep the data
Titanium backup. this app needs root but save every app. Normal apps protected apps and system apps
Titanium backup is a nice app.

[Q] Titanium Backup after new ROM install

So I've successfully updated my phone to Baked Snack v1.4.
My question is, I made a full Titanium Backup of user apps + data before hand. Can I just re-download titanium backup and run a batch restore to get all of my apps back? or will that overwrite data that has been put in by the new ROM?
Thanks!
I have done so coming from 1.25 so you will probably be alright. I know I was having all sorts of problems coming from Android 2.1 roms but since they are both 2.2 go for it

If you run a batch to get all your apps back, it should be fine. There shouldn't be a problem with overwriting data I believe because it focuses only on the apps.
Saying this, I've jumped around ROMS and restoring my apps has never been a problem using Titanium. I think you'e safe.
On some 2.2 ROMs, using Titanium Backup with result in Force Closes on some of the apps. No idea why but it definitely happens.
This is the entire purpose of titanium backup's existence.
thanks for the info. I started playing around with TitaniumBackup, and found out that I could restore individual apps, so I did that instead, cleaning house while I went and not installing apps I never used.
Follow up question though, does Titanium Backup store saved WiFi information / Text Messages? and if so, does anyone know which app I would restore to get back said information?
I've seen on this forum somewhere a mod that allows you to send you SMS to your google account so the nextime you setup your google account on the the phone it will bring back your SMS messages, I don't know if it does wifi or no. Post found here forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697147

Question about titanium back up

How do i delete my back up on titanium back up? i mean everytime i flash a new rom or do a wipe on my phone it keeps downloading the apps that i use to have before i flashed a new rom or wipe on my phone. I deleted my titanium back up folder on my sdcard and it keeps restoring my apps, Im saying this because i got so many apps i wanted to edit my back up so i dont have to wait for all those apps to restore from market. Any help will be nice! thanks in advance!
theres nothing in the setting, sync option to disable a market sync?
your talking about the preferences right? if so the only sync i see is "auto-sync TB setting" and its uncheck. Or should i check dropbox?
In the donate version you can browse batch and it will allows you to get rid of the apps that have already been backed up. Free version does not allow the batch functionality.

Titanium backup does not automatically install apps. It is google's new feature. It is under settings/privacy backup and auto restore settings. I don't know how to delete the backups. I changed roms and it auto restores wether that is clicked or not now. It's pretty annoying if you ask me.

[Q] Help - I've cocked up market on my desire

I rooted my Desire with unrevoked the other day, and then installed Titanium Backup. I wanted to use the integrate to rom feature to claw back some memory. It didn't work - the apps showed up in the TB list as being uninstalled and wouldn't run. So I reinstalled the missing apps from backup - which was not as stable as I'd have hoped, btw - but since then Market force closes every time I try to look at an app or go to my downloads. I've also tried to reinstall from an astro backup I had, but that didn't do anything. I've cleared out the data and cache too, but to no avail.
Help!
I presume that I can't do a full reset because TB has deleted the apps I tried to integrate from the rom. Is that correct?
I'm guessing by Tb backups (on sd and drop box) are iffy. Does the nandroid backup I did have enough to help?
Any guidance gratefully received. Ta.
Have u made a nand backup before all that work with TB,if so,wipe + restore.
Just restore the nandroid backup. If you want, search the forums for Market 2.3.4. There is a link lurking around somewhere.

Severely handicapped my OS

Hello,
I should mention I'm running the dark_hd CM9 rom, rooted S-OFF.
So earlier today I was in the bootloader and accidently hit Clear Storage. It brought up a black screen with an image of an open box and then my phone rebooted normally.. fat fingered it somehow. Oops.
Upon loading the OS it immediately asked me for my Google info and I knew something was wrong. All of my apps icons are there on the launcher screen, however none of them are installed except for the basic apps. Also, when I tried to install Titatium Backup again, it says 'Unfortunately, .. has stopped'. I tried to reinstall a few more apps and each one says 'Unfortunately...has stopped". Before I restored, I wanted to see if I could get back some of my data and make a fresh Titanium backup of it all.
I have a few apps like a a logbook program and my Heytell conversations that I would like to see if the data is still there before I do a full restore or a wipe. Is there any way I can fix this "Unfortunately" error? Also, if I do a restore, will my app data be saved or will it revert back to the info that was there when I did the backup? Thanks.

So you hit factory reset from the hboot menu? You could check /data/data and see if the settings for your apps are still there, but i doubt it. You should also check /data/app and see if the apps apk is still there. If it is there, delete it and then try reinstalling it again. If you do a backup, it will restore the data that was backed up. You can do an advanced restore and restore everything except data.

Did you have any apps moved to sdcard? As it almost sounds like that could be the case if some of the data for the phone like the launcher homescreen data is still intact but the apps were on the sdcard which would be part of storage.
Drk_hd made a CM10 build for the dinc? Mind sharing a link?

I'm sorry it was CM9. Fixed. I had CM10 on the brain as I was getting read to flash the Pons CM10 ROM. I didn't have any luck recovering any of the data so I just wiped it and flashed a new rom. I was able to run Titanium and recovery the data but I still lost some since my last backup. Thanks anyways.
