Wifi problems all roms - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

my wifi has broken.. it connects to modem, but it stays white (in cm7). market no connection, google no connection, CM9 same, Ligux same. raflash radio or what?

Try reflashing radio, if it doesn't work then probably it's a hardware problem not software.

Or maybe there is a problem with your internet connection. Try using some other connection to see if its the same there.

Try a factory reset after taking necessary backup....u can also try another rom...post back if problem persists..!!
Might be the infamous WiFi problem, try doing squeeze test of problem persists after changing a ROM.
Sent from my faster than SGS3 HOX.
Tried the press thing method it did work. So this means this is a hardware problem? Does htc accept warranty even rooted and unlock bootloader?

[Q] Possible WiFi problem with VanillaICS by demo3827

So, my fiance has the HTC One V CDMA on Virgin Mobile USA. I recently flashed demo demo3827's Vanilla ICS rom with the [email protected]#1PREEMPT kernel. When I first booted up, after I did a full wipe, installed the ROM, flashed the kernel and then flashed the boot.img in fastboot, I thought the wifi was broken because the wifi signal bars were grey. I know this is a common problem when the kernel is improperly flashed. So I tried reflashing the kernel and the ROM many times until I decided to test the wifi. I put it in airplane mode, made sure data was completely off and then turned wifi on and connected. I was able to browse the web just fine. I even speedtested and I got speeds that were definitely on par with wifi, not 3G.
Anyway, the wifi bars are still grey but I have have wifi. Is this okay? Is this something anyone else has experienced?

It could be a graphic glitch ,if it works then don't worry

Same with me. Bars are grey instead of blue is all. Its a really good ROM to me.

[Q] Wi-Fi / Mobile Data Issue - ICS/JB ROMs

Hi!
I've installed several custom ROMs on my Wildfire S. Jelly King, JellyFish, Marvellous, Sense 5, Speed Droid, MIUI, Paranoid Android, CM10 Nightlies, and other ones that now I forgot. On each one of them I have the same issue: When I turn the phone's screen off, after a while (sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 10 or 15), Wi-Fi connection stops working, I stop receiving messages (WhatsApp, Facebook, GTalk, etc). If I turn on the screen, the notification bar shows that Wi-Fi is online and working, but it's not, i.e. I open GTalk and it's disconnected, I open a website and have connection error. I have to wait or turn it off and then on again in order to get Wi-Fi working again. On every ROM I tried I checked the Wi-Fi always connected option to be selected, so that's not the solution. I also tried various"keep wifi alive" apps, and no luck. Same thing happens with Mobile Data.
With stock ROMs, everything works perfect.
My radio version is the latest available (Radio_47.23g.35.3038H_7.57.39.15M), I updated it a few months ago. My original stock ROM was 1.76 version (Brightstar Personal, Argentina).
I want to know if this is a common error or if I'm having something wrong and it can be solved. I'd really appreciate any help to get rid of this trouble.
Thanks in advance!!

Yes, I think Mobile Data bug is one of the most important bugs of JB roms too, and It's usually ignored.
I have to try WeFi Pro for some hours or a day to say if it works or not. So tomorrow there'll be news
Tried WeFi Pro for a day, once or twice I lost connection as always. What could be done to solve this? I'm a developer but never touched nothing android related, maybe something can be done with source code.
Strange using this app I didn't had any issues...

[Q] Wifi connecting issue

Since last couple of months I'm facing this. My wifi, once connected, stays connected. But once turned off, after turning on, it would just show the connection as saved, secured with wpa2 and won't connect. Turning off and on multiple times doesn't help as well. Just if i keep it off for some hours or so, then turn it on, it might sometimes get connected. The signal strength is excellent though and once connected, it stays connected. I've tried factory resetting, formatting data as well. Tried a lot of different roms but in vain. Could this be a hardware issue? Is there any workaround for this?
Does this occur with all wifi locations?
Are you running stock rom?

I didn't think the radio would impact Wi-Fi.
I would try to see what happens on another Wi-Fi hotspot, to rule out something with the home wi-fi.
