Well...I would advice you to copy and paste in Terminal!
Or try this in adb...

How'd you get it to stop boot looping? I can flash ROMS, but after I reboot once it'll boot loop at lockscreen. I am on the 5.10 hboot I had to flash that ruu tho then re downgrade and root. Idk how to get my phone to where it'll allow me to reboot it without it going into an endless boot loop.

We can't help you unless you explain how you flash a ROM. What did you wipe? Are you checking MD5. Are you waiting at least 2-3 minutes after first boot before unlocking?

[Q]Removing apps

Okay so I got my phone rooted and installed froyo with gapps.
Now I am trying to delete some apps with "Root Explorer" it works great untill i reboot the phone and all those deleted apps come back.
How to delete apps and save the image or something?
U will prolly have to remove via adb in recovery mode. Then they will stay gone.
Sent from my Htcclay's Remixed Remix using XDA App
I was trying to do that but my phone stays offline in recovery mode.
Maybe an advice please?
What is the command to remove the apps when in recovery?
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
You have to mount /system then
adb shell
Click to collapse
then
cd /system/app
Click to collapse
then
ls
Click to collapse
then following to remove app
rm -r Appname.apk
Click to collapse
But I still cant shell into device while its in recovery mode?
Anyone help?
Did you unplug the phone then plug it back in once you went into recovery (adb devices after that). Otherwise it will say offline. After that:
Cyanogenmod Barebones has the code to remove the apps (and which ones you can remove safely) from adb or terminal.

Christmas gift to all flashjunkies

These rom's is not any releases but only Christmas presents for all the flashjunkies on XDA.
My little contribution to the hero community
NR1. CM-6.2.0-RC0-Hero, Built this evening, well all know what it is,apps2sd etc.. + all google apps, everything included.
Wipe of all + ext partion
Flash rom
Well you know yourselves what you should do.
Here > http://www.elelinux.se/extra/CM-6.2.0-RC0-Hero-signed.zip
NR2. Gingerbread_2.3.1_r1_alpha1 This is a pure alpha, borrowed some from Lox_Dev particular solution on how to boot up
How to install then
1: Wipe of all in recovery
2: In recovery, adb shell run command
Code:
mount /system && rm -rf /system/* && umount /system
then flash the rom
3: Reboot boot and then when everything is ready
4: Reboot to recovery and flash gapps and reboot again
5: Enjoy

sry i didn't understood what u meant
if u mean that i have to write the adb shell command so i did that and all errors above
and i tried to only flash without any command with adb shell but it's failed too
Hmm, the only problem I have is that WiFi gets stuck on obtaining an IP address.
Other than that, it's actually not too bad

What I mean is wipe of all(factory reset and dalvik cache), then the command don't care about the errors, then flash and reboot should work for all.

Well as I say, pure alpha but the direction is correct in all cases. the graphics are ok,so for those who have the strength, this is a good rom to build on.
thanks for the reply , i get an error saying mount is not recognized as an internal or external comand ??
This gingerbread actually works pretty well and smooth! I also get the "obtaining address", but it scans okay.
Btw, why ADW and not stock launcher?

Windows: Disable or remove all phone, PDA, MP3 sync softwares, including HTC Sync, itunes, and all Antivirus software and suspend all unnecessary processes.
Windows: Install HTC USB Drivers on your PC. http://downloads.unrevoked.com/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe

No goldcard needed for Verizon DINC2. If you ask this, you'll get nothing but hate.
Yes, this wipes data and downgrades the ROM completely.

adb push misc_version /data/local/tmp/misc_version
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/zergRush

what happened when you tried to get temproot with zergrush?
was the phone in charge only mode? It needs be to write a backup file to the sdcard.
the < waiting for device > error is because the fastboot driver is not installed or there is contention with some program.
i missed a step; updated code above:
prerequisite: adb and fastboot fully working.

Help with removing max. frequence lock

Hello!
I flashed CM9 nightly on my GSM Galaxy Nexus a few days ago, and it has worked like a charm ever since. Until a few hours ago, that is...
I dug around in the CM-specific settings and (unfortunately!) ended up finding the Advanced settings, more specifically the CPU frequency setting. Just to see how it would handle things, I tried setting the max. frequency to 350 MHz (aka the default min. frequency). I was very surprised to see that the game Road Trip worked perfectly, and so I chose to keep it this way to save energy; I ticked "restore on boot". Later on, the phone rebooted during a phone call, but I thought, "oh, it's a nightly, this is to be expected."
What I noticed a few seconds thereafter (what is my real problem) is that the boot animation froze a few cycles in (after running at full fps for about one cycle), and the phone rebooted again, running into the same problem.
I still have this issue, even after factory resetting and reflashing the nightly (which I thought would remove the freq. "lock", but didn't).
Does anyone know how I can fix this? Is it as easy (or hard, because I can't access the actual system) as flashing some CPU-fixing ROM, or do I need to do something more, even send it to repair?
Thank you guys!

do you see /system/etc/init.d/ or not? if not, either your current rom hasn't created that folder yet (case of AOPK comes to mind, user had to create dir manually), or it doesn't support init.d scripts at all.

if 'su' errors, then you don't have su binary installed. you wouldn't be able to delete /system/etc/init.d even if it was there. you should see a lot more stuff inside /system/ though.

before you go restoring to stock, go in bootloader and try:
'./fastboot erase cache'
'./fastboot erase userdata'
see if it boots.
'adb logcat >> logcat.txt' would help debugging as to why the device is bootlooping as well.
Or is it easier to use this, and not have to worry about what version it is/was?

that's your choice. if you do use that toolkit (or any toolkit, for that matter), read instructions well.
I was redirected to this guide to get the fastboot drivers (and fastboot): http://android.modaco.com/topic/348161-01-feb-r4-superboot-rooting-the-gsm-lte-galaxy-nexus/
When I open "install-superboot-windows.bat", though, it says "waiting for device", and stops there.
Should I just have downloaded it and continued with the first guide (linked a few posts above), or should I have clicked "install-superboot-windows.bat"?
Edit: Now when I tried "install-superboot-windows" a second time, it rebooted the phone, but into Android (resulting in the usual freeze-reboot). I'm stuck, please help me!
Now I tried flashing MCR Ir9, which I had laying around on the internal memory, but it screwed up even worse: Now I don't even get past the first "Google" + unlocked boot loader icon screen.
Should I maybe just send it to Samsung, and foot the bill, before I brick it forever (if I haven't already, that is), or do you guys know what to do?

d,
did you reset permissions on build.prop to 644 ?
if not boot to recovery, connect to pc
in terminal, assuming you are using linux, enter;
adb start-server
adb remount
adb shell
and wait for service to start and bring up prompt
then at prompt
# chmod 644 /system/build.prop
exit and reboot

notepad++ is good,
unless you set something wrong inside build.prop then it is the wrong permissions on the file
download aromafm http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2231581&stc=1&d=1378202418
install just like any zip in recovery just make sure you mount system from recovery. navigate to /system long press on
build.prop and select change permissions. and you should be good unless like i said you got something wrong in
build.prop itself.

before your run aromafm, select mounts option in recovery and mount /system , then run aromafm.
there is an option in aromafm to automount all partitions, very helpful.
it takes a little till you get the hang of using it. very good tool.
