Well kernel sources are available now so it may happen eventually if they deem it worth going after. It runs enough voltage just not sure if the hardware itself allows it without a powered hub.

[Q] SM-T210 Tab 3 7" MHL to HDMI(TV-Out) Capabilities

Hi Guys
I got this SM T210 (wifi only) tab and I'm wondering if this really has a TV-out feature via MHL to HDMI.
It really is not clear for me because some sites says it has but other says it doesn't.
I was wondering if anyone here has the same tab as mine and has gotten this feature working for them.
If it work for you can you please also indicate what model of the cable you are using.
Thanks
The official specs on samsung's site make no mention of HDMI.

Yep, that is why it is really confusing. If you look here at the MHL to HDMI cable here
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab-accessories/ET-H10FAUWEGUJ-compatible
it clearly says that it is compatible with Galaxy tab 3 7" (Gold brown color w same specs as the white).
and also here on this link
http://www.abt.com/product/71046/Samsung-ETH10FAUWEGUJ.html
if you look at the docs of that cable. it states that this is for all 2013 Galaxy tab 3 devices including the 7" version.
Hopefully somebody has gotten this to work because I really need this feature on my tab.

About MHL (TV Out) capabilities:
http://www.samsungmobilepress.com/2013/06/03/Samsung-Introduces-New-GALAXY-Tab-3-Series-1
suggest you buy a MHL to HDMI adapter to test it. If it works, that will be great. if not, you can return the MHL to HDMI to the vendor.

Hi, I am sorry to tell you the bad news. I asked Samsung online service about your question that whether the micro USB port of tab 3 7.0 supports MHL function via live chat of Samsung.com. They told me that only tab 3 8.0 and tab 3 10.1 features a micro USB port with MHL/HDMI functionality like Samsung Galaxy S4,S3 and Note 2.

Aw... Now I don't know what to do with this tab anymore. I really need the MHL tv out capabilities so when I travel I can make this as my Portable TV box.
Anyways. Thanks for all the help. I guess I'll just sell this and buy another tab.
what if you root it or something? would that work?
you can get this to kinda work by putting a kit Kat rom on it. all kit kat roms have miracast. it's not exactly mhl (wireless instead of wired) but it serves the same function

[Q] USB OTG possibility?

I guys, maybe I'll buy LG Optimus G for xmas. The only lack of this phone, imho, is the missing SD card slot. It won't be a lack if this phone supported OTG, but, as lot of us know, microusb on this phone doesn't provide 5V output, so it's impossibile to connect other usb devices to OG.
5V output is not the only requirement to make USB OTG work, but 5V usb power can be easily supplied with a Y cable with one end connected to a power source (computer or phone charger itself or external emergency batteries). OTG needs also compatibile soc (snapdragon s4 pro is compatible for sure), kernel support (it should be enough to connect devices, such as usb gamepads) and software support (for example to read what's on a usb stick). Software support is easier than 5V, lot of free and well know softwares can be found on googleplay. So only kernel support is the last enemy. I'm not able to compile kernels or other stuff like this, but, as I saw for other devices (even mid-range like some samsungs with novathor chipset) or for OG's almost-twin Nexus 4 which has the same situation of OG, kernel support can be easily integrated by people with some skills in android programming.... So, is there anyone who can try to add kernel support?

I got that working 3-4 months ago.
There's a kernel from Houstonn's AOSP 4.4 kiktkat ROM.
Try that, I used OTG for like 1 month And then moved to stock again.

[Q] About the wifi chipset / driver on tab 3 7.0

Is there any possible solution to turn the wifi in tab 3 7.0 to monitor mode? And what is the wifi chipset of tab 3 7.0?

anvil,
for the sm-t210[r] i don't think so. if i understand it correctly you need a specific dongle with a specific
holy grail kind of chipset, AND you need a device with otg capability. binary-droid thought he had that solved
but as i haven't read anything else about it, i would say the answer is a resounding NO.

anvil,
hey this is what binary-droid had to say on the kernel drivers and the internal hardware, post 2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784752
which is a neat bit of info, as soon as i can get my tab 7 back from mom, [she likes her puzzle games]
i'm going to look into trying what binary-droid was working on myself.

so does it mean that the problem on bringing otg support in tab 3 lies on the kernel and not on the hardware itself?

Final solution for using USB OTG in our phone

If you want to use Keyboard or Optical mouse even a USB game controller (the best part) in the S3 neo , just buy a powered OTG cable, or make one by yourself but c'mon it costs a cofee, good luck
thank you my friend
is it work on dual sim ver. as well?
what's your device model?
cause i tried to use y cable on stock 4.4.4 but nothing happend
and ofcourse i used cable in other devices many time and it works fine
can you help me?
My device is GT-I9301I and it works
Android version is 4.4.2 but make sure to connect it with a power supply

USB OTG is not working.

Even-though same otg works on different devices but, not on A50. I tried with different OTGs but the result was the same. then I found that many A50s are not detecting USB OTG. If any solution found please share.
Hello
The OTG works great on my A50.
Mine also doesn't work. Same usb works on Poco F1 though. Have you found any solutions yet?

Maybe you have a defective device.
atleast 3 OTG were tested and all were working fine with samsung galaxy A 50
I was on FTM (Orange firmware) and OTG works fine
since I flash XEF firmware OTG doens't works anymore
i faced the same problem but it was solved once i bought a new branded one ( REMAX )
I bought USB-C to OTG from here: LINK
From reviews, for many people, it works great, but for me, it does not.
I tried connecting several different USB devices, but none of them works.
Any solution?
Same mine doesn't work either i can do usb thetering though but can't transfer files
Just tested using a SanDisk 128GB USB3 Flash Drive with a Galaxy S8 USB OTG adapter and had no issues transferring data with Solid Explorer.
Sent from my Moto G6 Plus using XDA Labs
Mine also doesn't work with Orange firmware and GOOBAY 55554 T-adapter.
Same usb works on Samsung A5 2017 though. Have you found any solutions yet?
It was a defective device. After warranty repair (both motherboard and charger board exchanged) it works.

You need to used otg for output current 3A. Then samsung a50 can be used the otg. Thanks.
I think boot start while cutting off the power for a while will fix this problem to allow the android system to boot from the vert start. But how can we do that if our a50 has a build it battery. Help anyone pls. Mine also stopped working.
Check this workaround if we could just apply this without opening the back of our phone.
