I cracked my digitizer and am going to replace it but before I order the digitizer is it possible to replace the actual LCD with an AMOLED display? I'm assuming drivers and such would prevent this but just curious.
EDIT: Just realized which forum I posted this under. If a mod wants to move it to Q&A feel free. My bad.
i posted this a couple months ago but only got flamed for wanting an amoled screen.
Not possible but would be cool.

I don't think the driver would be an issue, could be wrong about that though. the issue would be finding one that fits the evo.

how do you know if your evo screen is in 2 parts or one whole part?

Search on Youtube and you can find video tutorials of how to take apart the phone. I tried to do it and it didn't go well for me, but my LCD was also cracked and so was the case, so I literally had to take everything off of my old phone and transfer it to another case assembly. In the process of removing the flex cable antennas, I broke two of them and had to order a replacement. I'm just found the parts I need to fix it yesterday.
If all you have to do is the digitizer, then me personally, I don't think it is too hard. I recommend getting and LCD/digitizer combo to make things easier; even if your LCD is still intact. I only bought the digitizer, and it turned out my LCD was also cracked and had to order it separately.
If you've never done anything like this before, then I also suggest you find a repair shop and let them do it. Buy the parts yourself and pay them for the labor.
ok I bought the digitizer and I guess ill go to a repair shoo and let them do it

Not to be jerk man, but to be honest, you might want to look into having a professional do it for you. You've been posting about replacing your screen for a week!

I've never had to replace my screen, so I can't offer any specific advice for you. All I know, is that if I were to perform a repair such as that, I would have researched it a lot, bought a pry tool and some other tools for the job, and figured out what type of adhesive to use. Did you try google? Im sure there's a specific type of adhesive that you need to use.

My sister's white Epic 4G Tough glass is cracked. I have my old Epic 4G Touch (black) still around here somewhere. Is it possible to use my phone's digitizer/LCD with her phone?
What tools would I need? Thanks.
