I wanted to purchase this phone, I like it a lot.
However, I read a few threads and there seems to be a very frustrating death grip issue.
So, my queries:
1. Does the death grip issue actually exist?
2. If yes, is a fix available for it?
3. If yes for the 2nd question, could you please give me the link?
Thanks!
read here please
Nope. I'm having full bars currently.

Thanks in Advance for all replies!
I get my Sprint EVO tomorrow. I am hoping that this phone is going to be a good replacement for my TP2. I will have 15 days eval time before I will have to keep it.
My question is, what are the hardware flaws/issues do I need to test forwhen I get my phone? Do you have any more to add to this list below:
1. Find out if I have light leakage.
2. Find out if I have the high quality screen.
3. Find out if I have the slow screen response problem.
4. Find out if the kickstand is tightly attached and shows no future problems.
5. Test the battery thoroughly. (Not completely sure how to do this).
Should I care what revision of the hardware that I have? It seems like the screen problems are mixed into the HW 2 and 3 revisions?
Is there anything else?
I hope I am graced with a phone that is absent of any flaws, but I want to make sure....Thanks!!!
Well, I heard a wise man in these forums once say, if you start looking for problems you will find them all over the place
First thing I would do, enjoy it
But in direct response to your question, you should be able to find any major defects in the phone that would hinder longevity or performance. So just get some good use out of it for 15 days and then check your list
...higher quality screen? lol thats the first I have heard!
Hey guys, recently I've been following the WiFi hardware issue that has been mentioned in the thread here as I've discovered I'm suffering from the issue myself. I'm interested in how many people are actually experiencing this problem so I figured I'd put up a poll to see what the status of everyone's devices are.
I am, but can't vote, due to low post count.
Mine was HT23W. Was unrooted and only became apparent after 3.5 weeks of use. The replacement was HT23Y, which was defective out of the box. Screen issues on that one though. Awaiting 3rd and final replacement (Getting a SGS 3 if this one is also faulty).
To get a better summary, it may be worth amending the poll questions to something like:
Yes - HT23W
No - HT23W
Yes - HT23Y
...etc?
No, month old unbranded - Your poll will probably be voted on by people that don't even own the One X, such as other manufacturers fanboys. I would just go by what is posted in the thread and do a tally at the end to be accurate. There is a problem no doubt about that but I'm not sure how widespread it is?
Model SH23HW
Asia .707
I'm not sure my HOX was the issue. I haven't noticed any problems with the wifi, but when I do "the test" the upper wifi bar disappears, and when I remove my hand, it comes right back. Any others experiencing this ?
Hi I own a LG G2 and planning to upgrade. So I am researching into worthy upgrades and their common issues faced by people regularly.
So please mention the common and uncommon issues you faced while using this device or heard about.
Any other suggestions regarding my upgrade is also welcome.
Thanks

Common issue:
People that don't know what they're doing and are to lazy to read up messing up and soft bricking their devices.
Not so common issues but has been reported:
Lettering falling out on the back of the device
Camera showing some purple tint in low light
SIM cards not being picked up / read. Possibly not making proper contact
Some reports of camera lenses cracking
Have seen some people say that they have some dropped calls and/or SMSs not sending
Any other issues might possibly have been discussed in the Build Quality Concerns thread, might want to drop there and have a look at it.

Pink Tint again? Like the M7? Oh Boy :/
Why can't giant manufacturers like HTC and Sony get things perfect even for once :/

Yeah like the M7 though I haven't seen a lot of reports of it and I haven't noticed a problem like that on my device either.
And yes, it would be nice to have things perfect if you take into consideration the price we pay for these devices. :good:

Exactly. Just about 10 months back I bought this G2 wi the same price the HTC One M8 is offered now in my country and after 7-8 months of usage suddenly i get this weird touch sensor issue and then after weeks it come to a point i cant even operate the phone properly and end up spending around $130 to change the whole display for it.
Thats the main reason I am changin this phone to get something which is reliable for a long period. Orelse i really loved my G2 and intended to keep it for atleast a Whole year more.
one common problem is the camera lens... even if you keep the phone in a case all the time, u are likely to get scratches on the lens, causing blur/soft pictures. but fret not! turns out its just some coating on it and can easily be removed with car polish or toothpaste.
Thanks for reading. Like the title says, I'm experiencing these issues. Stock launcher, stock keyboard. Just a few apps installed. I've scrolled through looking for fixes foxes and haven't found any yet (Very possible I didn't dig far enough) I love this phone, probably my favorite that I've ever owned and I'm trying to avoid trying to return it in case Verizon follows suit and quits dealing with the note 7 altogether. I've had no heat issues at all, and it's in an otterbox. So, thanks again for reading and any help will be greatly appreciated.
Hey guys, so....
I don't know if I'm screwed or what. I have an original notes of a not a replacement 1. I got it about a week before The 1st recall. I returned to Verizon about 4 times in the past month and a half to try to get a replacement device [ with the new battery or whatever they did to the replacements ]. However every visit I was told they didn't have my color, gray, in stock. Now it's two months out and there's a total recall on it and I have an original device. I like the phone and wanted to keep it. What the heck do I do now? I've read through some of the threads about keeping the replacement note 7 or not, but I haven't seen anybody with an original one. Is your anybody else with an original note 7 that's going to keep it? And do you guys think that development will continue after all that's happened?
TLR - I still have an original note 7, not replaced (they never had my color), Do you guys think it's safe to keep it and do you think development will continue or die off early ?
Thanks for any advice. Man I really like this stylus ....

I'm in the exact same situation as you. I still have the original model Note 7 and have tried multiple times to exchange it for the "safe" model. At this point given the evidence, I believe that both models are equally safe (relatively). New models and old models catching on fire combined equaled around 90 cases out of about 2,000,000. I'm not sure if the failure rate on the updated models went down, but I feel that failure rate in general is about on par with other devices.
I have read about Apple phones in the past catching on fire. The difference is Samsung tried to be super responsible in this situation by taking ownership and the media and such has definitely exacerbated the situation. Apple never took ownership of any of the battery failures that happened with their devices, and mostly blamed it on the user using 3rd party accessories and such.
I may be wrong, but I believe the issue was blown out of proportion. I'm not saying the phone is safe, but I'm also not saying that this phone is way more unsafe than any of the others.
So, given the statistics and history of the two different models, if you disable fast charging on the device I believe the two different models are on equal ground as far as failure rates go. Which are higher than they should be but still fairly low.

I even thought it was less than that and I'd take those odds, I don't think theyre too bad . However, I did think that my battery was kind of sub-par; this note 7 sucks down quite a bit of juice. I was hoping at the replacements had a better battery or longer-lasting one or something ????.

Is v1 any more prone to failure than v2 though? They sourced the battery from a different manufacturer for v2 to try to head off the problem and there were still fire reports. I'm thinking that the failure rate is probably the same as any other phone, only with Samsung trying to be super careful by calling a recall, actually put themselves under a microscope in the media. They even said that they could not replicate the issue in their labs. V2 was just hoping that the battery was the problem. Which it seems that it wasn't.

they had a lot more reports with v1.. I think it was 90+ then v2 I think is under 10... not sure if time is the culprit or not however
