GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
UMTS 850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz
If i use it with AT&T 4G plan will my HOX work on 4G mode?

Nop

That depends on what you call 4G. If you use the original definition then no because we don't have LTE. If you use the AT&T and T-Mobile (USA) definition then yes because that is HSPA+ which we do have.

Careful there. The at&t hox will run lte/4g. The intl will give you regular hspa+ but not 4g like the att version of the phone.

AT&T calls HSPA+ 4G also, well they did for a while. And LTE is 4G LTE lol.....

Anyone using nexus on ATT LTE?

If so what kind of d/l speeds u getting? Thinking of ditching tmo.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Well, the Nexus doesn't use AT&T's LTE that they are currently setting up across the country, but it does utilize AT&T's HSPA+ network (which they market as 4G, but is much slower than real LTE).
Here are screenshots from the Verge's review of the Galaxy Nexus:

These are speeds in New York city. Remarkably good compared to many other HSPA+ phones.
Damn that's pretty slow....29 for skyrocket on LTE..tmo hspA+ on gs2 is high teens but I wanted to ditch tmo. I'm just torn between devices.
Can get skyrocket for $149...but really wanted nexus.

The Galaxy Nexus is HSPA+, not LTE. You'll get solid speeds but nothing near LTE of course. All depending on your location and a myriad of other factors.

If you want LTE, then your option looks like Verizon when they come out with it. The international GN won't support ATT or Tmo 4G

Well... AT&T's "4G" is HSPA+. They actually make the distinction between "4G" and "4G LTE". T-mo also calls HSPA+ "4G".
So specifically yes, the international Galaxy Nexus Supports AT&T's 4G, and T-mobile's 4G, but not AT&T's 4G LTE.

[Q] Am i on gsm or lte? How do I tell?

I am completely new to Android and I just got the galaxy nexus. I read up on rooting and I would like to try it out. How do I tell if im GSM or LTE?
is verizon your carrier? if so, you're LTE/cdma.
I515 or i9250. Verizon4g lte on back or just google or samsung? I9250 and google on back are gsm version.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Well, where did you get it from?
(quick responding here..)
Well it depends, if you have the Verizon Galaxy Nexus you are on either CDMA or LTE, LTE is denoted by a 4G symbol while CDMA is denoted by EVDO/1X/ or 3G symbol.
If you imported your GN and you are using it on any other carrier then it is GSM, and you are either on Edge, GPRS UMTS or HSDPA

another quick method is to look at your purchase receipt, if you paid $300 or less its LTE. If you have paid more than $600 then its GSM/HSPA+ ...
And to add more heh...
Micro SIM=Verizon LTE
Normal SIM=GSM
Short fat battery=Verizon LTE
Skinny tall battery=GSM
GSM on the left, Verizon on the right:

Lol, sad but true!
How about;

Blue battery - Lte / Cdma

If the status bar says Verizon, you've got the LTE Verizon version.
If it shows anything else, it's GSM.

Low Network Speed

I've been recently getting a maximum of 3mb/s download speed on the Bell network in Canada with my location being sadly HSPA+ Max 21mbps.
Is this an issue with the carrier, my location or is it problems with the CM10 ROM?

On cm roms 3G=3G H=HSPA or atts"4G" and 4G=LTE I know it says your area is 21+ mbps hspa+ but I have never seen anybody on hspa+ get over 10+ mbps, tmobiles hspa+ is a lot faster with speeds of 12-21 depending on area. Most likely your provider lied, you can get "theoretical" speeds of 21mbps on att hspa, but I have never seen anyone get past 10 mbps

Congrats! So jealous. I'm surprised that Tmo didn't at least give you a month or so of free service. If you can get the phone unlocked, it can be used on AT&T's HSPA+ network. The one thing I liked about the Tmo variant was the additional HSPA+ 1900 MHz band, which is what AT&T uses, so it is the most universal GSM/HSPA+ S3 model! You will get HSPA+ on Tmo, Wind, Rogers, and AT&T (as well as overseas).
Only got the AT&T version because my company pays for the phone and service, so I can't complain either.

I don't really know how to explain better but I'll try
My T-Mobile version shows the signal icons of umts and hspa/hspa+ as 4g and LTE as 4glte while the non american HTC one m8 shows as follows
3g for umts
H for hspa
LTE for LTE
Again this is the icon

Did you read response #5 above? Another T-Mobile user is saying they see "4G LTE" for LTE, and "4G" for HSPA+. Pretty sure that is what he is saying, since the AT&T stock icons are similar. And both carriers have touted HSPA+ as "4G" for a long time, especially T-Mob, which took so long to start their LTE deployment.
If your phone is modded, just flash an international based ROM to get the icons: G, E, H, H+, LTE.
That's the only way? I can flash a zip file or something?
