[9001][MOD]Onscreen-buttons for CM9 - Galaxy S I9000 Themes and Apps

Hello
After a few days of searching on google, I got on-screen buttons on the GT-I9001 in CM9.
They have a smaller size to fit the screen better.
Screenshots:

Download:

How to install:
Use ADB to replace SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk with the one with the zip. Then replace Generic.kl in /system/usr/keylayout to disable the menu and back key on the phone (It doesn't yet disable the light from them)
Changelog
1.1=Disabled the menu and back button
1.0=First version
Thanks to:
acro86 for cm9 port
evilsto for guide on how to enable on-screen buttons
stars2 for guide on succesfully decompiling and recompiling ics apk's
APKTool to decompile and recompile the apk's
(P.S this is my first post at XDA, so please forgive me for any errors)

Thanks, working
One suggestion: you could turn off the backlight keys (menu and back)?

You can do this with some of the custom kernels (midnight, semaphore and devil). Install them and use NStools (from market) to set led timeout to 0.

Will it also work with MIUI v4?

[REQ] Nexus like navbar for Xperia Z

Hello,
is there anyway to get the Nexus like soft keys for my xperia?
I mean the icons and if so is there anyway to get this with the 36 size (from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2171768 )
Soo any Ideas or solutions?
Here's just the AOSP keys: link.
Just copy it to /vendor/overlay/
It is compatible with the smaller button mod.
Ok it works, thaaaanks
If you can do a 36p mod this would be realy gorgeous
Just get the mod from the thread you posted, it is should be compatible with this mod.
Ok it works double thanks
Sorry if i'm being stupid, but do i needs to rename the apk somehow before i copy to the vendor/overlay?
when i copied 'asis' this did not pick up on reboot (permissions set ofcoarse)

Yes, a simple copy works, no need to rename anything. You can throw me a logcat after you reboot the phone, I can check and see if there is any problem.

Many thanks for the support. Really appreciate this.
pls see the logcat str8 after reboot

Well, I don't see anything wrong in your logcat - the package gets loaded. You can try removing the package, rebooting then putting it back there and rebooting again. I think I had that problem once when I was testing it. Besides that, I really have no clue why it may not be working for you.
Unfo, no luck here... but, guess i can live with it
Thanks for the much appreciated support

I copied the file 'SystemUI-aosp-buttons-overlay.apk' to /vendor/overlay/ via ES file explorer and restarted the phone, nothing happened, then i flashed this mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2171768 . Though the softkeys became black and smaller i did not get nexus like key. My phone kept rebooting whenever i opened ES explorer so i had to clear data and uninstall it after deleting 'SystemUI-aosp-buttons-overlay.apk' .
Phone is Rooted with locked Bootloader

[Q] Scot's CleanROM Configuration Questions!!!????

Ok so I just switched to CleanRom V2.0 and seems pretty awesome but how do I get rid of the extra home back and menu buttons the AOSP launcher insists on putting on my screen......??? Anyone know if there is a good battery themer module in xposed that works with CleanROM? How about BinDroid Kernel? I tried it on stock and it seemed very unstable I was using V3 of that, is it any better in CleanROM?
EDIT:
I found a solution for the on screen buttons without reflashing!!!
In build prop change the qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to 1 as well as the default value to 1.
#Softkeys Mod
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 No more on screen keys!

Any thoughts on a working Xposed battery themer or the BinDroid Kernel??
I've flased the kernel today and it is very good so far undervolted it with -55mv and it is stable. You should give it a try

I thought about that and then I was like....but what if I want to use my softkeys?? so I just made it so that the S-pen controls the capacitive keys and installed gravity box to make it so that I have virtual buttons in portrait only.

[Q] SuperUser MOD: what's and what it does?

Hi,
I read that SuperUser MOD can be installed on stock ROM, but I didn't understand what good is and what it does.
- works on locked boot loader?
- how install?
- what are the advantages of installing it? what are the risks?
Because I've stock 4.4.4 ROM with only root privileges...and I need stock kernel and bootloader locked because I need the camera works perfectly.
So, if someone can clear my mind about this, will be great. Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.
Type in google xposed installer and download it and install on phone. It require root access. After that launch xposed and click on framework and install. After that click on download and find serjar xperia KK and click on it and install latest ver. And after that click on modules and activate it and click on it. It will open module and in tab System is super user mod activate it and restart phone. Serjar xperia xposed KK include some other very useful mods for egz back to kill app its every useful because if you hold back button for 1s you close the app.

Hello there, I'm little active to Xperia Launcher Mods lately, just wanna finish everything about it, in this guide i'm gonna explain how to make it Non-OSB, Let's start!
Don't forget me from the Credits  .
What You Need :
Apktool .
Decompiling/Recompiling Knowledge .
Xperia Launcher .
How To :
Decompile Xperia Home .
Navigate to smali/com/sonymobile/home, Open "DisplayData.smali" .
Search For " navigation_bar_height ", Replace With " home_default_navigation_bar_offset " .
Search For " navigation_bar_height_landscape ", Replace With " home_default_navigation_bar_offset "
Now, Navigate to res/values/dimens.xml, Search For " home_default_navigation_bar_offset ", Make it "0.0dip" .
Notes :
In Apptray, you may have Navbar offset problem, Just play with " apptray_grid_offset " value .
In Desktop, Icons are far a way from the Dock, Just play with " desktop_grid_vertical_offset " value, Make it 0 or 5 .
For Examples, You Can Check My Z5 Home NON-OSB Here : Press Me .
