Hi Guys,
I'm trying to cook the rom.zip extracted from my RUU file :
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_O2_UK_1.26.206.2_Radio_1.1204.90.13_release_251230_signed
I don't have access to a linux machine unfortunately. Can anyone help?
Many Thanks,
Dominic.
What do you mean 'cook'? You on about making a custom ROM?
I would like to know how to do this aswell, i just want to flash a stock rom through cwm recovery

Hi everyone,
Is it possible to converter custom ROM to .exe like official RUU?
So when you have problem, you just run it from your Window PC with ur Phnoe connected, to any ROM of your choice.
Thanks.
No we dont have custom ruu's like we did with winmo so we cant do it

Thanks AndroHero.
Actually, I'm having problem with my SD slot on the phone, hence I am looking for alternate mean of installing custom ROM.
I tried using sdk tools with the following command:
>fastboot -w update (MyzipFile)
I received "android-info.txt no found in package"
Anyway, to work around this problem and get custom ROM installed?
Hello! i`m newbie when it comes to android platform. I have perm-rooted my DHD, and I wanted to flash a new ROM (eg. LeeROM) but before doing that, I want to have a copy of the stock RUU of my phone which is Japan`s Softbank 001HT (1.35.762.2), for me to be able to restore the phone back to its original state if needed. I`ve googled it out but I can`t find a RUU for this. My question is, if i can get the boot.img of the stock ROM, and save it in my PC, is it the same as the RUU for my phone? If i have this boot.img of stock ROM, no matter how many times i flash it and install a custom rom, can I use that boot.img to restore it to its original state?
Thanks in advance...

you need more than the boot.img all that does is boot android and execute and pre-boot scripts..... if you have the ruu you can return to stock just by running it
I am now having a stock rom RUU on hand.
RUU_Ace_Gingerbread_S_HKCSL_CHT_2.37.832.6_Radio_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2_release_193200_signed
I would like to ask that can I change the RUU to zip file which can flash it through clock work mod recovery?
Or do I need to use any tool to do so?
Hi
I think i screwed up BIG TIME! Please help me if you have an idea!
i tried to flash the latest ARHD, comming from the lite version, i decided to go for the full package.
followed the guide, fastboot boot .img, clear chache etc. but when i got to the flashing part, recovery wouldnt run the .zip file (bad)
Now i dont have any nandroid backups or any other roms to try and flash. I've superwiped, so theres no roms installed, so i guess i cant access my "sdcard"..
And also, i have OSX, so i dont know how to do the sdk stuff
Are there any way to fastboot a new rom? or any other way to get my phone running again?
thanks
see this thread or follow these steps
flash stock recovery
relock bootloader
flash ruu
flash recovery
unlock bootloader
thank you..
as i cant run an exe file, is is nessesary to do that to get the boot.img from the zipfile? it says in some guides that you have to make sure that the exe is running before getting the boot.img
or is it possible to download the boot.img directly?
im downloading the ruu now

why can't you run the .exe? what you can do is extract the boot.img from the rom.zip and flash it through fasboot
Hi all,
Recently rooted my one x (used to have a rooted desire) and changing rom isn't as easy as I remember.
I've searched the forums and the net but can't find much about swapping onto a different rom. I've put it onto MIUI V4 but want to try out cyanogenmod 10/9 but i keep getting boot loops. From what i've read i think its something to do with the boot img? Can anyone help or link me to a guide?
I have managed to restore onto MIUI through the clockwork recovery. Also in ROM manager i can only see MIUI roms :s
Don't use ROM Manager - it's crap
With the One X you can't flash a new boot.img from Recovery so you have to flash the boot.img in a ROMs ZIP file before flashing the ROM using the fastboot command 'fastboot flash boot boot.img'
Guides are in the Dev forum, or Google it
This may help you.

But as said above, basically any ROM you want to change to, you need to extract the boot.img from the roms .zip, flash it using the fastboot command, then flash the ROM via recovery.
