Can't complete calls while using HSDPA - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Sup guys, i'm facing issues using HSDPA on Gnex. I can't make a call go through if i'm using HSDPA and also I can't receive incoming calls when my phone is downloading something from Play Store (like app updates and so on). Do you know how i can get this fixed? Is it possible to do it? Maybe I could change radio and try to see what happens.
Thanks in advance...
I appreciate your help!

Yeah dude sounds flippin weird... which radio are u currently using?
- Google

It might be a limitation of your cellular provider?
Although it seems to be an odd issue...
Can you tell us what it says by following these steps:
Menu -> Settings -> About Phone ->
Baseband version
Then click on Status ->
Network
Signal strength
Mobile Network Type
Service state
Probably going to recommend that you flash a new radio firmware, but we'll see...

I'm using I9250XXLA2 radio in Brazil via Tim Mobile.
Network - 11
Signal Strength - -97dBm 7 asu
Mobile Network Type - HSDPA:9
Service State - In service
After trying to call a few times HSDPA turns off and the call go through... I don't know if there's something related to Tim or Brazilian Networks... Btw, thank you guys for your help!

WCDMA / GSM auto problem

Hello Guys,
I'm experiencing a problem with my Froyo Desire for probably a week now.
The thing is that in certain areas my Phone can not receive calls / sms or such. In other words "GSM services" dont work. 3g though works fine (stable, strong and fast connection) My Provider is T-Mobile.
After quite a lot of testing I was able to isolate the error:
When WCDMA / GSM is chosen by the phone automatically it seems to me as if it didnt switch "back" to register with my provider via GSM when i want to make a call or if someone wants to call me.
When i switch to "GSM only" manually everything works fine but i have no 3g of course.
I also experience this problem only in certain areas. I live in an area where there is really strong HSDPA available (up to 7mbit\s). When i go to other places of my city i still get HSDPA (not as strong) but calls / sms still work.
The last paragraph may be of no importance, i don know.. probably it helps..
I have googled quite much about this problem and also found a few persons experiencing the same issue but nobody was able to come up with a solution.
I would be very thankful if someone could try to figure this out.

gsm only Desire?
I'm having a nightmare with 3g 2g connectivity on my Desire on the three network whilst at home. If I could manually select gsm only this would be fine as I could still call and text and use wi-fi. Unfortunately my options are gsm/wcdpa (or whatever) auto or the 3g only.
can someone please advise if it is possible to select gsm only and if so, how?
many thanks
Can someone please advise me how if possible, to set the desire to gsm only?

Wireless and network-Mobile network- should be here somewhere.
Thanks, but there is no option for gsm only. It's wcdma only or gsm/wcdma auto. there has to be a way around this.
Similar problem, different version
I've experienced similar problem.
In some area, I can get steady grps signal when I switched GSM only on; but when I switched WCDMA/GSM on, I could get no data connection at all.
I'm using China Unicom's mobile service.
Solution
Hi there,
I've the same issue and I fix it allowing the option GSM/WCDMA Auto in the configuration menu.
Then enter the following code *#*#4636#*#*, select "phone Information" and set preferred network type, set "GSM car (PRL)".
Sorry about my bad english.

(SOLVED) I'm travelling and can't get data to work on my Gnex (bars are grey)

Hello guys
I'm in Denmark using my Canadian Galaxy Nexus (from Virgin Canada). I used to live in Denmark and I'm using my Danish simcard (CallMe) with an active data subscription. Sms, MMS and calls work fine.
My problem is that I cant get the data connection to work. Normally my bars are blue but now they are grey and I cant get online. I still says 3G or H right next to the bars but nothing happens. 3G Watchdog tells me that I've used 3.2MB since I got here (142kb up/3.06mb down).
Can anyone tell me what is going on? I talked to the customer service but they have no idea whats going on. Just referred me to Samsung.
All the best,
M

Did you get 3G while choosing WCDMA Only?
If Yes,means you have to do it manually everytime you reboot your device.
If No,means you don't have a 3G data plan.
If you reboot your device mean while it will again set to prefered WCDMA so everytime you need to do it manually. Just to remember if you're getting 3G even on prefered WCDMA then leave it as it is. I think it's an issue regarding weak carrier signal.

Its not the build prop. Its how HTC designed the DHD.
The DHD isnt quadband, You can check the specs at gsm arena.
Some countries have thier 3g on a different band, so if you buy a DHD that doesnt scan for 3g on your countries band, you face the same problem.
I have being trying to fix this problem but got stuck along the way. Its very good to see that people also have the same problem. Maybe the devs would try something.

dear, did you get any sulution for 3g network on dhd?

Nope..
Before i can try anything i have to put the device in diag mode which i have being able to, but the problem now is the device isnt showing up properly in QPST(a program for communicating directly to the qualcomm chip).
It detects the open port on windows but its unable to find the phone in the port.
If the phone doesnt show up in the port, changes cannot be done.
So thats the update.
If you have any idea, you could share
WCDMA
goto mobile network under settings, then select network mode, change it to GSM/WCDMA auto if it doesnt work then change it to WCDMA only.
It'll do the trick.

Cannot make/receive any calls

Hi
I cannot make/receive any calls on my phone.
Phone shows good 4G connection. When I run "Signal Strenght" application it shows -96dBm
I can use data with no problem -> internet works fine
But when I try to make a call it just drops without connecting to other side
When somebody tries to call me there is busy signal.
Is this a problem with my phone or my provider?
Thank you

I have update my phone today to latest security update, I believe it is March update
And my phone is not working again. I can access data (4G), but I cannot make/receive any calls
Can you please advice what might be wrong? and how can I correct it?
have you tried doing factory reset?
no I have not tried it. I just found out today.
Anyway, that should not be a first option right?
any help please?
You can use 4G for calling if your provider support voLTE, so make sure your provider support this.
If not you must adjust network network selection.
Try dial *#*#4636#*#* >> phone information and select your network as LTE/WCDMA or LTE/UMTS (make improvisation on this, combine with the knowledge from your provider). So your provider will flexibly choose the network. It also depends on your signal strength. If you have strong 4G signal it'll switch to 3G when on call and switch to 4G automatically when call dropped and back to internet connectivity.

The issue is that I'm using the phone with the same provider for couple of years now. I had this issue before and it was solved by itself in a day or two.
Right now, the issue started after March security update.
So I know that mu phone works with my provider's network. It just, I do not know what happened in that update and how to correct it.
I went to settings and choose preferred network as 3G. and suddenly I can make a call. miracle.
So I went back and changed it back to 4G. and it still works.

Yeah maybe some tiny bugs affect the "automatic switch" between 3G/4G when oncall/internet in this update. Try the *#*#4636#*#* method above.
