i had a 2.2 froyo official rom in my desire before it was bricked... i rooted it,, made a nandroid backup and then installed the DesireGR rom on my htc desire.. then phone restarted and stuck on htc logo screen!! some one please help!! .. when i go to recovery mode and try to make the nandroid restore.. it says an error message.. maybe that backup is also corrupt.. some one help!! pleaaaaaase!!:
Well good news is, it's not bricked.
What error do you get when restoring the nandroid? Also have you checked the md5 of the rom you flashed and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes after flashing.
You can also mount your sd as mass storage in recovery and copy a new rom on to it and flash that.

I installed CM& RC4 last night on my brothers Desire. I then flashed the bravo_alphaspl-cm7.img from alpharev to give him more space for his apps.
Now just for the future i need to know, if i want to install a different type of ROM (stock, leedroid etc), will i need to flash another HBOOT to his phone? If so, does this be done before or after installing a new ROM?
Just wanting to future proof myself here in case he asks for sense back or something.
Yes, the CM7 HBOOT partition table is designed for the CyanogenMod usage. The stock ROMs and LeeDroid need another partition table and consequently another HBOOT.

Except Oxygen. If you go to Oxygen it should be fine.
Hey guys,
I'm currently running cooldev's ROM Cool 3D AceS v4 which is equipped with bananacake's kernel version 0.7g I guess ... however i'm trying to update 0.8f but none of the two versions work. I've wiped the dalvik cache three times ... recovery tries to install the update but ends with "Installation aborted". Any clues how to fix this?
Do I need to update to a previous version like 0.8b before upgrading it to 0.8f?
Thank you so much for your help!
Failed download normally throws that

You have to unzip the file you download and in that there are some different version of the kernel.

hi i just installed the viperx rom on my htc one x everything was working fine until i got the 2.2.0 ota update and when instaling this update it said please select: remove htc sense ui and i did now everything is black i can only get to the setting. and when the phone reboots an error pops up saying dialer has stopped. i got the 2.2.1 update but it just reboots when i hit "install now".
can anyone please tell me how to fix this thanks. i already searched the forum didnt find anything!
Just flash the ROM again like you did the first time.
Try to reflash the rom and only wipe cache and dalvik cache, and then do not choose remove sense UI . You should keep all your settings and apps.

I saw a similar post in viper thread. Jan has given explanation for this. You can have a look.

I follow all the instructions for installing PACman on my HTC One V (GSM version), but when everything is finished and I restart my phone, it gets stuck on the HTC welcome screen. I figured it was because of a buggy kernel, so I used hellboy's, but when it does start up, it doesn't have any connectivity (no wifi, network, data transfer etc). I'm now running cyanogen without any problems what so ever, so I guess my phone's not broken. Any tips?
You have to do a full wipe from recovery,or it will give those bugs.
which pac man rom bro.... there is a 4.2.2 kernel u need to use that with the latest ROM
I did do a full wipe, like 5 times, and I'm using the bundled kernel.
