Allshare Cast - Device mirroring - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

We've seen this demoed on the SIII offering screen mirroring over the WiFi Direct protocol. Here in the UK it is expected at launch of the SIII at the end of May for 80 GBP.
This thread is created as a place holder for any information regarding it and it's compatibility with the Galaxy Note.

Here is to hoping it works

[Request][Port] Galaxy note Premium Suite applications

Developers can you please port the premium suite applications available in the Galaxy Note such as S Memo and S Note. It would be an awesome feature in our Galaxy S3. Please.
I have pre-installed s memo in my sgs 3

But the Premium suite S memo from the Galaxy Note have a lot of other special features available other than our galaxy S3 S memo.
"Premium" suggests that you pay a premium to get the note with advanced features. Therefore there may be legal issues surrounding porting that.
Reads as a Samsung update for large screen products .

It's not a paid app but it was included in the update of Galaxy Note to ICS. The features of the apps were increased in the update. So I think it won't be illegal in porting the apps.
friends found this while surfing around in the Galaxy Note forum

This is the premium suite app from the Galaxy Note and it works in our S3 on a normal install without root. But some work has to be done in adjusting the resolution so that it looks perfect on our S3.
Can anyone confirm that the premium suite does indeed work well on the S III? I have the AT&T Note and use the upgraded S Note app and S Memo app everyday. Especially "formula match" which is part of the productivity tools in the updated S Note app. It connects to Wolfram Alpha to show the different solutions to whatever equation or science problem you hand write. I'm thinking of moving to the S III but cant if it doesn't support these apps which Ive become dependent on. Thanks.

[Q] Miricast feature?

Hey guys,
I just placed an order for the following item which is Miricast pre-certified: http://www.netgear.com/home/products/hometheater/media-players/PTV3000.aspx#
As per several articles online such as this one http://www.theverge.com/2012/9/19/3356512/miracast-certification-wifi-direct-video-streaming , the Galaxy 3 is already Miricast enabled (I assume the technology is similar to its allshare cast).
My question therefore is how will I be able to enable/use that feature once I get my new Wireless Display Adapter? I assume it's an app to use, but as far as I'm aware there is not one yet on the market. Is this something we have to wait for Samsung to release as an update?
Thank you in advance for any help.
I belive you would use wifi direct to connect to the unit

Makes sense, I'll try it out as soon as I can and report back. Thanks!

Tried it out but it did connection failed, although it did identify the adapter and try to connect. I thought it was a WiFi direct problem with my Rom on my phone but I just tested it with my co worker and we can send stuff to each other no problem.
Any ideas?

Okay just got off the phone with Samsung and they're saying only the International Galaxy 3 is miracast certified? Can anyone else confirm? I really only got the PTV3000 for this feature =/
Any ideas?

WiFi direct

I am a bit confused. Saw the specs on some of the websites and some indicated that Galaxy nexus has WiFi direct whereas some indicated that it doesn't. Although I found WiFi direct settings in the settings menu, I am unsure how to use it. I mean, after connecting the galaxy Nexus to my laptop through WiFi direct, I can't find an option to share files through it. Please can someone help me out. Am I missing something?

I think this only works phone to phone. Like another phone with WiFi direct.

Hello, I am also very interested to find out how WiFi direct works. I have tried phone to phone connection as insuusvenerati suggested but it did not seem to work.

I forgot to mention that when I tried WiFi direct on my galaxy S2 and Note, it gave me a option to send files through WiFi direct in gallery and it worked flawlessly but on galaxy nexus neither does it gives me an option to send file through WiFi direct nor it is able to receive file from the other end.

So I have been struggling with this for a while but now have a solution. Our Galaxy Nexus has the capability to use it but you need an app to get it going for large files. URLs and small items will work, but pictures, videos and files need more.
WiFi Direct on the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S III uses NFC to establish the connection, but WiFi to send the material. On the Galaxy Nexus, it uses Bluetooth.
There is a WiFi direct app in the app store that you need to install to be able to send large files between the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Note or Galaxy S IIIs.
You really have to fiddle around with it to get it to work but once it does, you can send videos and stuff from your Galaxy Nexus to a Galaxy Note or a Galaxy S III. Also, as far as I know, you have to have the app on BOTH devices.

Has Samsung forgotten Tab 7 wifi?

Has Samsung forgotten Tab 7 wifi? Its still on 4.2. I should have done more research before purchasing this for my wife. Has anyone heard of future updates for the 7" wifi or are we stuck at 4.1?
Samsung tells me that an update is coming but when we don't know.
Thanks,

[Q] ATT U-verse for tablets app

Hello there- I was hoping someone with a Galaxy Tab 3 wouldn't mind sharing an .apk of the U-Verse for tablets app (free app) located here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.att.labs.uversetv.android.tablet
For whatever reason, even newer devices such as Nexus 7 2013 and others (like my galaxy note 8) are apparently "incompatible".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
I don't see anything specifically for tablets. I found an "AT&T U-verse" app and am downloading and installing. Will post it shortly. Hope that's what you want!
Anything that shows as not compatible, you can probably find here.
This is a completely reputable site and is not a pirate site. It offers only free apps.

ATT U-verse apk file
I really appreciate the response & the links but unfortunately they don't appear to be the app I linked. I have the standard uverse one, but apparently there exists also one only for "tablets" (except galaxy tab 3 is the only one compatible)
Again thanks for the responses
