Not just widgets. Install a launcher (go launcher etc.) and try to scroll. Its really laggy. Everything except htc sense things are very laggy. I think its a software based problem. Hope it will be fixed in next updates.
Yeah find the same thing here...
I had the same issue with plume 4 x 4 widget. i changed the launcher to Apex and the scrolling became very smooth. it's a HTC Sense issue. we need to contact HTC to fix this.
I don't think, there's an error with HTC Sense. The Sense widgets are really smooth to scroll, but others, like the simple calendar widget, are not. But before, they were not smooth on my SGS2 with CM9,too
Similar problem with Live Wallpapers just freezing/locking up and generally running slow.
Strange that they run absolutely fine on the One S though.
I'm experiencing the same problem, with the stock Gmail widget on Sense Launcher. It scrolls very slowly.

Sense laggy any fix

So I know its well reported that sense is quite laggy on the HOX,on my desire HD running leedriod sense was silky smooth, had full rotation all the way around and you could view shadows of other screens spinning ad you swiped. Is anyone working on a fix for this .I don't want to change from sense as I like it best of all
Sent from the Beast that is the HTC One X in white......
That's a mod called 'Ultra rosie'
Just use a different Rom if you feel sense is laggy, personally I don't, but each to his own
Maybe the link in my signature helps you
btw wrong section your post

Stuttering Sense

Hi guys,
Anyone experience stuttering homescreens on their One X? I have every single page of my Launcher filled, I'm running Stock Sense and I am using the Sense Launcher.
Don't tell me 'simple fix; don't use all of your homescreens' when I was using my Desire HD, and even Desire this problem was not apparent.
I think it sucks that we have LiveWallpaper issues, Sense issues, boot issues (if near low battery), HTC have had plenty of bugs to iron out these problems! Not to mention Gingerbread kernel (oh daym)

If you can live without sense widgets, just use nova or apex. butter smooth but you can't use sense widgets

To me Sense is all part of the HTC experience. I'm sure in updates to come this will be fixed, but I would just like to double check I'm not the only person experiencing this issue. Not a chance am I getting rid of Sense :-D

here is the fix for the issue
[FIX] Ultra & Super Smooth Sense 4.0 Launcher (Rosie) + Supercharged
and here you can vote for HTC to officially remove the stupid thing causing the stutter
I talked to HTC Jeff Gordon about this and lets hope they listen
Hi hamdir,
I have been through the thread you provided the link to & tried to post there but was not allowed to. I have tried to install the ultrasmooth but am I still stuttering so I was wondering if you could take a look at what I'm doing because it's probably not correct. Apologies but this is my first android phone, which I only got yesterday & I don't understand a lot of the terminology. So this is what I have done so far:
Rooted phone, installed ARHD 6.0 & bricked kernel 3.0. To install ultrasmooth I have -
Downloaded version for 1.29.401.11 (this is correct one for me) & saved to the downloads folder in my One X.
Boot the phone into Clockworkmod recovery & choose install file from sd card.
Locate Ultrasmooth zip file in the One X downloads folder & install.
Install completes successfully & when I reboot it tells me that android is updating but then when I get to the home screen it's still far from smooth.
Thanks
I have been in contact with HTC discussing the stuttering issue and the pausing live wallpaper when moving between screens, I went though a few processes escalation teams etc. The most recent reply I got was that my request had been forwarded to their r&d department in Taiwan to try and put the fixes in a future update

seriously? :| far from smooth? you are the first to experience this
you did the correct process, i never tricked bricked kernel, im on stock
did you still have the 3d widgets layers? this is how u can tell if its applied
edit: why dont u try the latest ARHD 6.1.0 its included and asks if you want to be installed while flashing the ROM
Thanks for the quick reply.
The widgets do look 3D still so I guess either I'm doing something not quite right or that it doesn't work with bricked kernel.

you mean in the weather you can see the clouds on seprate layers
if so its didnt work
kernel unrelated
did you ever uninstall and re install sense launcher?
I'm expierencing micro stuttering on this phone all around. I'm finding it to be largely unrelated to the launcher, as it is by no means stutter free on Apex either. I'm on stock, unrooted and very disappointed my quad core phone stuttters more than the galaxy y (€ 59,-) we have laying around here.

The widgets do looked layered still.
I've never unistalled the sense launcher, should I try that?
Thanks

no I have no idea why its not working for you, you can try arhd 6.1.0
@schiphol after ultra stutter is unrelated to launcher its a device fresh out of the one so expect performance updates
by the way I definitely had no micro stutter due to supercharger die hard patch
I just switched to hard to kill and micro stutter is back
Cheers, I'll give it a try
The home screen stutter is definitely due to those sense Widgets. When I remove them the UI is very smooth. But of course not using those widgets doesn't make any sense (.......)

Never experienced any lag on my One X (Completely stock).
Also, while 2.6.x kernels have been largely used in gingerbread roms, the 2.6.x kernel series are not Gingerbread-specific. Yes it's an old kernel series and 3.x (particularly 3.4) would be a lot better for android, linux kernel versions are not associated with any one version of android
I have stutter when switching between my clock page and my Twitter sense app. Apart from that no stutter. I have all pages filled up with HTC widgets aswell. Sense doesn't lag though. Only stutters ever so slightly. I'm not sure why though.:/

[Q] Why Sense is restarting?

Hi!
I've got a friend who's One X is restarting Sense randomly.
What's up with that? Someone else who are having this "feature"?
Is there a way to get rid of this?
I told him to factory restore the phone and put one app at the time on the phone to see if it was a running app that was the problem, but no it was not. It does restart Sense without any installed apps.
Hi,
It's the task manager of HTC, when you use a a program that use much memory (Internet with flash, games), the application manager of HTC kills un-used programs, like Sense, to clean up memory...
I would recommend using a different launcher, such as apex, and setting the option to keep it in memory. its far faster, better looking imho and doesn't restart all the time
However, saying that, issues with Sense were fixed in one of the earlier updates
He told me he have had this problem on all his HTC phones besides ONE HTC Desire HD!
He have had: HD2, Desire, Desire HD, Sensation and now One X.
My One X does not do this all the time, after a game it does reloads Sense not when browsing or using the phone.
It have never happened to me.
Hello, I also have the same probleme with my sensation but only since the official OTA ICS update.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA
When i was on my first custom ICS ROM on Sensation i had this problem as well, but i thought it was because Sense 4 was not made for Sensation. I solved it by using System Tuner. But he is not rooted, so.... or maybe it is working with system Tuner and the taskmanager without root?
Must check this!
I said the problem is present when you use Internet with heavy flash content (like HD flash videos)

[Q] Choppy Home Screen Scrolling on Viper X And ARHD - JB

Hello
I Updated from ICS to JB few weeks ago.
In ICS stock rom and viper x (the only ICS Rom i used) the home screen scrolling was so smooth. So smooth.
Now I'm trying ARHD 21.0 and before Viper X 3.6.1 and both were choppy and laggy, only on the home screen/
I did some search and all I could find was people like me with this problem asking for solution but none..
So I'm trying here again, Is there any solution? OC or kernel or something ? Maybe I need to format my SD?
thanx in advance
Shaked1
Try a full wipe, wipe everything twice and install the rom clean.
I'm on viper for a long time now and i never experienced this issue
In my experience I do triple Wipe every time... Still no good...
Still Searching Google And Xda, and still finding more and more people suffering from this. ("suffering" is maybe too much, but we want smooooth.)
I realy wonder what could it be.
I will try Rom Cleaner though
Maybe the turbo swap mod can solve some lag ?
Thanks Mr Hofs but still no good.
Rom Cleaner Didn't help at all,and the turbo swap mod maybe did it faster, but it still not as smooth like i had on viperS ICS.
Its Fast but i can still feel and see the stuttering on the small white bar that represents which window you are..
My Friend with HTC sensation and viper rom is smoother that mine... I feel embarrassed...
are u using stock kernel or custom one? try to change governor...because some governor are way too choppy and yes...play with kernel settings like governor ^^

JB is supposed to be more smooth? Do you use lots of widgets in Home screen or does it freeze with the stock settings as well? Did you flash any other Mods?
Are you using a live wallpaper?? Some of them are very buggy.

Thanks a lot for your ideas.
Tried also Insertcoin... felt the same lak of smoothness...
So I flashed MX repacked kernel for insertcoin, used smartmax governor on SETCPU, It felt a bit better but still...
I dont use LWP, so I tried removing the widget that i use daily for the past few years since i had the HTC Desire - 4x2 weather clock, Agenda, Calender, Tasks and a photo frame of my child. Even the Insertcoin ROM for the desire could handle all these widgets with butter smoothness.
In the end of taking in and out widgets from the home screen i realized that the problem is either the full screen animation in the clock ,the clock itself or the agenda.
Now trying few hours with the 4x1 clock instead of the 4x2 and it feels way better... I'm not sure. Could it be? Or something is wrong with my device?
I will report back and thanks again.
I dont know...i use insertcoin with latest xm beta without repack and with pmc governor and max freq set to 1ghz all is fine...home screen and whole phone is buttery smooth ...I also installed turbo swap mod and odexed the Rom with the aroma option ...its so insanely fast now didn't see any laggs till now really great so try and play with governor...I use the 4x2 clock widget and like I said also with unlimited scrolling in home screen its insanely smooth and fast
