My Kindle Fire is now maybe gone, forever!
It was a smooth and easy life for me and my Kindle Fire, we've been through root, recovery, bootloader and everthing. She was running fine, until the recent day.
I installed the 1.4 FFF from Hashcode, it was good, I loved the blue Kindle Fire logo. But then the next day I saw an update of 1.4a, so I booted into TWRP recovery and uses ADB (since I'm using Kernel 3.0 without ADB) and does the command:
adb push <filename> /sdcard
Sdcard: Read-Only File System
That was really weird, we all know sdcard is never a read-only, so I thought something was wrong here, I copy the FFF.bin file from my PC to my Sdcard using Mount USB (Still Working)
I tried the second command to install the FFF 1.4a:
adb shell
dd if=\......
And it says I/O error.
I thought I would reboot and live with 1.4 then, but when I reboot system in TWRP, the Kindle never came on again.
It was at 73% battery so there's no chance of a battery drain, but know when I press the power button, NOTHING, no green light, no backlight, it does NOTHING! When I was holding it, it was very very hot at the area around the power button, everywhere else it's cool. I hold it for 20 seconds, left it there and in the evening that area is cool again!
SO I doubt a hardware error, that separate the power button with the CPU,RAM,ROM to power it on or what--so--ever. But the Kindle was smooth until I tried to flash the 1.4a, and what was the problem with the "Read-Only SDCARD", even I can still Mount it to PC and Copy it over. What should I do, should I bring it to the Hardware Fixing Store? Or throw away my Kindle Fire!!!
Try wiping everything

I hate to bother you like this, but even with no power button working and no backlight? I do think my case is rare, I mean it has to power on to do the commands right?I mean the Kindle is still hot while plug in and charge so I'm guessing it's energy problem? No offense so don't misunderstand this, but if the charger fails in powering on the Kindle Fire, why should the factory cable be a success? (Sorry my English is bad so it sounds offensive)
No offense taken but the factory cable acts as a short and puts your kindle in a state where you can fix the problem so keep reading on how to use this cable. you can also issue fast boot in kfu then power your device on after.

I see now, I guess I will order the cable now! Anyway I was browsing the forum and I see a guy who has the similar problem to mine (which also helped by you!) here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1636107
So there is a problem of the Kindle leaving it can't power on and I'm not the only one that have it! What seems to be the cause and how to prevent this in the future for me and everyone else!

PLEASE HELP!!!
Its not something you can explain in a few short sentences. You have to research it.
Make a usb stick that loads ubuntu, put fk at the root of it.
Take the back of your kindle off, short a certain point on the motherboard, plug your kindle into the computer and run the last command in the list for firekit.

(BTW that's a joke, so don't get bent out of shape)
it turned out it was my pc that caused most of my upset. im still sorting it now. iv'e had to wipe my hard drive and start again. just updating ubuntu 11.10 (not upgrading to 12.04 as i think thats when the fun & games started)
next is sdk/adb/fastboot etc :-(
my only tip is read the top link from the first page from tom (and i mean read it) then follow it to the t (no short cuts) and your kindle will boot i'm sure
if you get stuck at a certain bit post back with some detail of where you are at in the process etc. and people will help

hello guys are in trouble. I have a kindle fire January 2 I installed twrpe put cynogenmod 10. Unfortunately it gave me problems with wifi so I tried to download a different rom but I have done something wrong in the flash and now the kindle is stuck on startup logo appears where kindle fire!! The problem is that is not even recognized by the PC. Please help me

If you can't enter "recovery" anymore via pressing the power button (e.g. you still have the original bootloader installed), you need to get the Kindle Fire back to "fastboot mode" to be able to set boot mode back to "recovery" from there.
From what you describe it sounds like you need a "Factory Cable" to get there. A factory cable is a special USB cable that the boot loaders of the Kindle Fire detect and then switch to fastboot mode automatically.
For both (fastboot mode and factory cable) you can find excellent tutorials in the "Kindle Fire General" section right here.

I'm Italian and I do not understand much ....
The problem is that my kindle is not more 'recognized even by the pc ...
The cable factory what?
Just stay calm. If your Kindle Fire still shows a boot logo, it's very likely you can get this fixed.

I'm sorry but I understand little English .... Basically I need a cable factory? I know where I can buy it indicate? (Unfortunately I can not find any Italian ....).
When posseggoil cable factory say that I can fix it?
Sorry, unfortunately I understand little English and are desperate ... I really need help
:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
not neccessarily , i think you really need to imerse yourself in reading especially anything from kinfauns or vashypoo , trust me I thought I needed a factory cable too but you can do it , be patient , make sure you have the right drivers!!! Use a dedicated USB port (meaning one on the back of the pc), if your using adb the kindle drivers might work , it will say they are correct, but for me I used kfu and use there THERE drivers , they will work, kfu will get you a boot loader , might as well go FFF ,
Every Android device is different ,you may be proficient using Samsung , but Acer and Kindle are completely different , Kindle in particular is alot different than just android , READ,READ,READ EVERYTHING!
I need urgent help. As I wrote I bought a factory cable to repair my kindle fire.
But now 'I do not know how to do, and unfortunately I see the little' English.
I tried to connect the kindle with the factory cable and I get the screen that says: fastboot and the design of a traffic light. Now what do I do? I'm desperate.
I tried to use unbrick utility but I do not recognize the kindle
You have a KF2. Install fastboot drivers and install TWEEZERMOD (search on google) then install freedomboot and TWRP and then mount, install a rom for the Kf2 and u r done.
Sent from a bird... No, a plane... Wait, It's a Kindle Fire!
unfortunately they are in a dire situation. I do not know how, but where he made some attempts, now my kindle does not connect more 'of nothing, not even with the factory cable and recharge.
I tried to attack the kindle to the electrical outlet, but will not charge, will not turn on even the lights on the power button, and the charger heats up but the kindle does not charge!
Help
Okay so I had TWRP and I was going to flash a different Rom. However I accidentally while not looking managed to wipe EVERYTHING, including my old Kindle OS (I reformatted it back to stock OS for some reason before I was going to flash another rom). I deleted everything, system, SD data, cache and delvec. Factory reset and whatever else was there, I didn't think it would do anything, there were no warnings. Now I believe my kindle is completely bricked for good and it makes me wanna cry
So far when I turn it on, it shows the original Kindle Fire screen and flashes to black quickly like it's rerunning the animation every 15 or so seconds. I'm afraid to keep it on and continue anything due to the battery last I saw was 30 person and the charging is already messing up on it.
If I could get it to connect to my computer I could reinstall TWRP and manae to flash it to whatever I want but when connecting it doesn't pick up and TWRP won't reconize it either. I've tried to use JDK or whatever it's called to ADB or something (you computer people get me!) and it gives me the error - exec '/system/bin/sh' failed. No such file or directory.
I'm not sure what I'm doing either, I've been watching a video on youtube and cannot get any farther in it due to this error.
Please, someone help me I'll worship you, I am completely lonesome without my Kindle
exec '/system/bin/sh' failed. No such file or directory
If you have FireFireFire installed (blue & white Kindle Fire logo) that error is not much of a problem. If it is not installed, however, you will need a factory cable.
Try to run Kindle Fire Utility 0.99 first and wait for KF reboot
ADB is also nightmare for me since my PC recently never recognizes my Fire in adb mode (always failed with KF tool .096 and 0.99). Therefore my TWRP version was stacked with 2.2.2.6 version for a long time, and the method to update it through the soft in Google Play store was also failed. However, I accidently find a good way to update TWRP to 2.6 versions by run KF tool and select Install TWRP. Then with the KF still connect to PC, I restart it and it take a seconds to install latest TWRP while my Fire still in boot status (blue Kindle Fire logo)

I am having a similar issue like yours. Yesterday I tried downloading Jellybean onto my Kindle. I did all of the precautions, TWRP, KFU, etc.
And right as I thought I was done, boom, I get stuck in an infinite re boot. Every time it finally boots up it says android.process.phone for not even a full second and immediately reboots. I am not the smartest, but if someone could walk us through a way to restore our kindles or fix the problem. I would be most gracious! I am not sure what the ADB is as well. Is that what I am missing?

Well your problem is nowhere near the same as June's, but I'll go ahead and try to help your anyway. I've had this happen to me once or twice. My suggestion is to redownload your rom and gapps, and then try flagging them again. Hopefully that should work. There is an option in TWRP to mount your kindle on your computer.

So far.
Guys, sorry I might not have explained the issue in enough detail. Although the information is full of things that are helpful. It didn't quite help me.
Sorry about having to deal with a compete noob here...
---I'll list my issues to isolate confusion.---
-I cannot boot ADB, I click on it, a cmd window pops up and then immediately closes each time I proceed to open it. for a start, if someone could perhaps tell me what I am doing wrong, because I know I must not be doing what all of you pros are doing.
-Although I had TWRP installed on both my pc and kindle. Whenever I boot up my kindle, I do not get the blue and gray "Kindle Fire" logo before the Orange and White logo. So that for me was very frustrating.
-The Kindle Fire Utility is not detecting my device at all. Which is worrying me to death, the Kindle Fire Unbrick utlity is not working either which is killing me inside.
-For a detailed description of what my kindle fire does when I press the power button goes as so: I press the power button, the orange and white Kindle Fire logo pops up for a few seconds like normal, then it proceeds to boot or "Attenpt" to boot the Jellybean OS, after waiting 5 minutes, the OS lock screen pops up with "android.phone.com" or "phone.android.com" pops up, for a second, then it proceeds to fully rebooting the OS for another 5 minutes. It does it indefinitely.
So does this mean my kindle is officially done for? Bricked? Or is there still hope for me. This is really depressing, I spent most of my money on this, money is tight for me right now ant I use my kindle for school and research. It is a vital tool to me. I need all the help I can get.
Thanks for all of the help so far. You guys really know what you are doing, thanks!

Hey Phil. Doesn't look like you've posted anything else, so you probably won't see this. But oh well... Sorry your problem got left in the dust. I didn't mean for that to happen. You need to shift + right click in the folder with adb.exe and click "open command window here" and then you can do your things. As far as everything else: does your computer do anything when you plug your kindle into it?
I accidentally did this once (at least I think it's the same) and what I did was I went into ADB and side loaded a custom ROM I used CM
Hi,
Well I have had a kindle for a long time and I have successfully applied root to it many times... So this time my kindle was rooted (no problems there)... I tried the cynogenmod but for that I needed to install TWRP recovery... I used the kindle fire utility 2 master to install TWRP. Everything was going fine and then it asked to reboot the device I pressed enter and EUREKA!!!! the kindle turned with its logo but then quickly changed to the RED SCREEN... I didn't want to bother you developers so I searched for a fix... then I needed a Fastboot cable so I made one... So I plugged it in the computer and the Kindle came on with a screen with fastboot written on it and two lights one red and one green(blinking green)... So the next step was to find a program to unbrick it so I searched and downloaded the kindle fire first aide(image posted), kindle fire unbrick utility(image posted) but none of them worked. they both keep on saying " the system cannot find the path specified " (without the quotes) So I need your help I really miss my kindle and want it to live again.
P.S: If it helps when I connect the fastboot cable with my kindle and pc. in the device manager it shows up as otter-02-prod-04(image posted)
P.P.S : I really need your help .... the images can be seen on this thread " http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/xda-assist/kindle-fire-2nd-gen-bricked-red-screen-t2904472 "
