Ive tried many diffrent games to play that i know are supported but when it goes to download the data it turns from 0% to NaN and then does nothing. Or others will say "Failed to Connect" which i am on fully working wifi so that makes no sence.

So I started to download the Angry Birds Beta(One of my fav iPhone games), when my Evo decided it would be a great time to do a random reboot.
After phone reboots, I go back to the market. Start the download over, it completes. Then starts to install, when it then notifies me of a Unsuccessful Installation. Now I have tried this several times, rebooted the device a few times, even got the .apk and tried manually installing. With no dice.
Does anyone have any suggestions, or know how I can rectify this situation?
Thanks!
Hi,
My DHD is only 2 months old, just recently it has started behaving oddly. When i plug in the usb to a computer the phone starts to open applications such as dialer and tries to phone people. Tried clean install of CM7 and CM6.2 and same thing happens. Tried on different computers, same thing. Tried different cable, same thing.
Anyone anys ideas if something that loads before the rom could be corrupted, before i restore it to stock rom/radio and take it for repair?
thing that is confusing me is that usb seems to be fine in fastboot, i can send and flash a radio, but from recovery it also selects options.
If it was Windows PC, you would think a virus.
There are a few virus's out there for Android, maybe DL a free antivirus app (such as AVG or Lookout), update it and run a full scan (They will detect Superuser, but ignore this one). I don't think it's the problem, but worth a quick check.
What about a flashing a different kernel from CM7 or LeeDrOiD etc?
Edit: And what about a different custom non- CM7 ROM? If you try, don't forget a nan-backup & TB of app data etc.
Agreed with UpInTheAir. It's the virus.
Just full wipe and install back rom. your phone can be use like normal
yes i thought about a virus. AVG shows no virus, also scanning the sdcard with Clamxav an my mac shows no virus. Phone has not been plugged into a PC for a long time.
Since this is happening when in Recovery it would mean that a virus would have to be installed at a level pre ROM...
I will do some more testing, the only thing i can think so far is a hardware problem, where maybe a bad ground if interfering with the touchscreen operation which would account for fastboot being ok..
Hey guys,
i know you won´t like to hear that question, but I am trying to fix that issue for 2 days now but nothing works.
At first, I don´t know too much about all that stuff, but I tried to flash another ROM on my GT540 anyway. Obviously that didn´t work out to good.
The last ROM i flashed on my phone was V20B_00.kdz. I also reset it numerous times. I tried to use different usernames to log in to my google account at the phone. However, when I start the phone I get the fault
"System UIDs Inconsistent: UIDs on the system are inconsistent, you need to wipe your data partition or your device will be unstable. >> I´m feeling lucky"
When I click "I´m feeling lucky" I get the next fault
"Sorry! The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. >> Force close"
I get the second fault every time I try to start the Market. A market update didn´t work. I installed an alternative Market, still get the same fault. When I try to download the apps at my Laptop and put it on my SD card of the phone to install it, I get the fault
"Parse Error. There is a problem parsing the package. >> OK"
I tried to install an App to fix that first fault. I think it was ROM_Manager_5.0.0.1. But I get that Parse fault.
I might have changed the memory space for the system with one ROM that I had flashed to the phone. I am not sure about it. I have seen that this might be an issue for some system apps when the system partition would be too small.
I also updated my phone with LG Mobile Support Tool. So I flashed it, reset it, updated it, and now have no idea what do to, as I am not the biggest expert in that.
Help would be great. Thank you.
What happened/is happening:
Wi-Fi won't turn on. This includes anything that uses it. (Tethering, normal connection to routers)
The settings application will try to turn it on, but it just sits there until I enter another menu or back out and re-enter, at which point it shows it as off. Built-in wifi tethering menu in the same place says 'Error' and the checkbox is disabled.
USB tethering still works.
OpenVPN and its tun0 device still works.
Bluetooth... I don't use it, so I don't know.
What I've done:
I tried getting a logcat but I don't have any computers that I have administrative access to install the HTC drivers on, I wasn't able to.
I did some searching, and some frantic listing of directories, and comparing them to a friend's G2, and I found something.
`ls /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/` (same with /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/) gives me a list of directories corresponding to devices from `iwconfig`, but none with the names of eth0, wlan0, or wl10. List of devices from iwconfig:
lo, gannet0, dummy0, ifb0 ifb1, rmnet0, rmnet1, rmnet2, usb0, sit0, and ip6tnl0
Roughly the same list in /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/ (and /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/)
I've also flashed CM10.1 (Flinny's Andromadus build 25) and CyanogenMod 7.2.0 stable from their wiki. I started from 10.1, reflashed it, then flashed 7.2.0. No change.
I used CWM Recovery to format my /system partition and restore CM7.2.0 Stable, no change.
I have searched for about two weeks, and I've come up with nothing, short of getting a new phone, or getting some kind of backup of the files. I need a solution, because having Wi-Fi working is pretty important right now.
Had an issue like this way back when once and a clean wipe (including efs partition) and reinstalling ROM fixed it. Toward the top of this thread you'll find a link to the superwipe tool I'm talking about
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43195539
If this doesn't work then digging through the old threads for a fix should turn something up as I've seen many WiFi error threads over the years.
Oh and a logcat should help, just get an app from play store if you have no PC to use

Worked great! Thanks! It kinda wiped my data partition though, so I had to spend an hour queuing downloads on the Play Store. Better than having broken Wi-Fi.
I was wrong.

Not fixed, actually. I thought it had worked, but last night when I decided to power on my computer and start tethering to it, it was broken again. I'm getting kinda tired of putting up with this phone.
Does anybody else have problems trying to use PC Companion's Backup and Restore function?
It just will not work for me.
I fire it up and then choose the items I want to back up (regardless of what I choose will cause failure - I even tried selecting just basic items, which comes to about a backup the size 600KB and STILL it fails)
Basically after I select the items and click OK, it will then sit there for ages "preparing" - there's a small animation of dots going from PC to phone and vice versa.
Then after a very long time, a screen comes up specifying the size of the backup (as above, it could be 600KB or if I include photos too it will be over 1GB) and the file name I want to call it. When I click next, the progress bar starts to go up as the backup is made (again, very slowly) But it will then always randomly freeze, the PCC app goes into a state of "not responding" and the workspace of the app goes black. It then does nothing.
It's not a case of it's doing something and I have to wait, as I have waited, a VERY long time whilst it's been in this state, but nothing happens. Sometimes I get a screen saying backup failed, or sometimes it just stays black. But I can see nothing is happening as there are no I/O read/writes to the hard disk going on in Task Manager.
I've tried this on 3 different PCs, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows XP, all with the same result. I've also tried factory resets of the phone with no luck.
Does anybody else have this??
Thanks
Haii,
I think it is a problem that lots of people are dealing with.
i've got the same problems with the Sony PC Companion.
I never use that tool again, and do the factory resets on my phone and copy everything thrue the browser.
I have had trouble with PC Companion also.
It communicates with my xperia s when attempting to backup, and then when I ask it to start it stops responding and crashes.
I just don't bother with it...
