How to Access Images in Stock Browser? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Here's what I did:
I did a google search for a logo and it pulled up several results in the stock browser. When I tap the image, nothing happens. If I long press the image, I get the option to view it, save it, or set it as a wall paper. If I chose view it, I get another page with the image so small you can't see it (thumbnail sized).
The same thing happens with Chrome. Can anyone tell me what's up with this? Am I doing something wrong here?
BTW, I tried to search the forums, but couldn't find what I needed. Please redirect me if this has already been addressed/fixed.

I save full images all the time. Press and hold, save, then its in your download folder.
It doesn't load thumbnails for me. Make sure you load the full image and don't press and hold the actual thumb nail image, otherwise that's the version you'll save.

[Q] NullReferenceException error (help please)

Used APPmakr to make this app since MS was giving away free developer licenses ($99 normally of course) and seems there is an exception null problem on the app i created which APPmakr knows about yet have not responded to. Obviously MS kicked it back as it failed certification. Have attached the app here as maybe someone here can help pleeeease. Many thanks as ALL help is ALWAYS appreciated.
The error occusa as follows:
1. Launch the application.
2. Press "..."
3. Press "settings".
4. Press "clear" to clear the cached data.
5. Press "ok"/
6. Press the device's back button.
7. Select any category.
8. Select an article.
9. When the article loads, press the device's start button.
10. Press the device's back button to reactivate the application.
11. Observe the unhelpful error message "NullReferenceException."
----------
Thanks again and am not handcoding this so if you can fix it and send me an XAP instead of telling me how to correct it using the development tools that would be great. MANY thanks!!!
ADDED: i removed the attachment. 04/20/11
110 views... nothing. Please help, thank you.
Hi, I've been taking a look at it but its kinda difficult when you can't use proper debugging tools. What I think is most likely happening is
1. when you start the app it grabs all the data and caches it.
2. When you clear cache the app still has a copy in memory which is what you see when you come back out of the settings.
3. If you press home on the list of items page and go back to it, it reloads the data from the web
4. but if you do it from the an article page it doesn't reload the data from the web and is trying to load it from the memory where it used to be, now returning null and throwing your error.
I have been decompiling the dll inside the xap but can't get them to recompile to try anything. I may even be on the wrong lines because anything in the app could be throwing the null reference.
Sorry I can't help more, seems to be a problem with appmakr so hopefully they can sort it for you.
Ahh ok and many thanks for your help.
ADDED: appmakr finally fixed their problem, my app should appear in the marketplace within a week.

[Q] Google Mobile Image Search bug?

Hi
I have a problem when using Google Mobile Image Search...
When I download a image, I always get the image next to the one I want!
I open google search in stock browser.
Mode is "Mobile" and search for "Images".
Result are presented as thumbs.
I choose a thumb (long press) and select "Download".
After download I go to "Image Gallery" and WHAT wrong image downloaded!
I don't know if this bug comes from Google Mobile Search Website, from Stock browser or maby something else?
Is it me doing something wrong or do anybody else get same result?

Nexus 5 screen broke. Need data back. (Root)

So here is my situation:
The screen of my nexus 5 broke to the point it's basically unusable. You can sometimes see the lockscreen when you press it at a certain point but the touchscreen is unusable. When
the screen is turned on it also starts pressing on random places on the screen. I suspect this is because of a short circuit?
Anyway I really need my data back. Not just the pictures but also contact's (Google don't save all my contacts in the cloud)
I don't necessarily want to repair it because I have an other one one in mind but the data on it is really important to me.
I managed to get the screen unlocked once via a keyboard and then copying the pictures via windows but the phone
would lock really fast again disallowing me to copy my pictures.
side note: my phone is rooted.
Any advice? How do I recover my data?
Thanks in advance.
If you can just get it to the bootloader screen (press volume down button when powering on), you could use a tool like WUG's root toolkit to do a backup, or just get into recovery and back up files that way.
Also, if you can boot into your custom recovery, you can then attach to your computer and copy files from storage that way (pictures at least).
Not sure about your contacts... why doesn't google back them up, it's set up that way by default, unless you turned it off.

The problem is that is it basically impossible to see anything on the screen.

No usable phone, no icons, no task-statusbar, only background

Hey Everybody
I have troubles since i clicked a button in my status bar. I removed EVERYTHING from my home and lock screen (i cant even tell witch one i see). There are no Icons at all. only my desktop background is visible and working (animated bubbles). there is no button working except from power button (and its menu to restart). a friend of mine was able to get a screenshot with some button-combination (vol+ + home?)
first: i am not an expert with android, but have a lot of experience in working with Linux shells.
what i have done:
maybe it has something to do with it or not, i don’t know:
i enabled multi view / multi window or extended desktop (sorry i don’t know the name, and as there is nothing shown...)
i opened my status bar and there were some new icons (next to the small watch in the right corner), witch i haven’t seen so far and clicked it. than it opened a "new" screen with only my background.
as i thought it is maybe only a "dead" app i tried to restart my phone. but: there is only that screen working. no PIN question, or something.
i tried to reset dalvic and normal cache. -> no change.
i use RESURRECTION REMIX 5.7.3. on N7100
Recovery TWRP 3.0.2-0 is still working and
i hope somebody can help me to solve my problem without factory resetting. i wont reinstall everything.
thanks a lot
Are you able to restore a TWRP back up? You could try flashing the ROM again without wiping.
theoretically, yes, but i did not have on. so i cannot flash it.
i am searching for an commandline option to change the settings. but i have no clue where to search, and in what files the configuration lies...

Need Help Recovering Pictures

It's a Verizon Pixel XL 32gb running build NDE63X fully stock.
I've tried everything mentioned in normal and safe mode through multiple reboots, power downs, etc.
Phone won't connect to cell data but will connect to wifi. It states that cell data is turned off but if I turn it back on it immediately turns back off without ever connecting.
Windows 10 file manager as well as Thunar and Nautilus file managers for Ubuntu 16.04 all show the pixel as a network device but won't show anything there.
Fastboot will show ID from bootloader
ADB won't show anything anywhere.
When I click developer options it says "Developer options are not available for this user" (This seems damned suspicious and seems likely to be what's grieving me)
Home button ONLY does the animations and nothing else. The recent apps button doesn't do anything however the back button works.
I tried using google cloud to back up the photos but it never uploads anything anywhere, just sits there saying it's uploading X images (I've tried single pictures as well as sets of pictures, videos, and anything else I could think to try.
I'm pretty confident that a factory reset will resolve everything but I can't do this until I can get photos off. I've been googling, DDGing, and all around scraping xda, reddit, and anywhere else I can think of. Any help or suggestions would be great!

What you could do is download "ES File Explorer" from the play store and when opened, navigate to Network>remote management. It will give you an IP and a port. Pop this into an ftp client on your computer such as Filezilla Client. It will list your device and you can copy to a desired location on your computer
Can you email, bt file share, install Dropbox or OneDrive and turn photo back up on, plug in the otg adapter and a flash drive, adb pull files, share to google drive? Last resort display them on screen and take a pic with another camera.
Go into settings and see which user you are signed in with. Maybe that is the problem.

I'm not sure you read my post... adb isn't doing anything. It should, but doesn't. This is likely due to developer options being inaccessible as I mentioned in the OP. Uploading the files hasn't worked with Google Drive and should. I admit that I haven't tried with Dropbox or OneDrive due to not having accounts with either group but if other solutions don't work I can try making a dropbox. Wired transfer has been a bust, again, thoroughly mentioned in OP.

I'm signed in as Name being the correct name of the user. I've tried clicking on it to switch users to attempt to resolve the issue but to no avail. There should only be the one user on the device and they should have full permissions but this doesn't seem to be the case, though I can find no alternate user account.
Maybe dd the data partition from fastboot and mount it in Linux to copy the files
I had exactly the same issue. This seems to be an issue of a "dirty" flash. On Marshmallow this issue happened sometimes, and the cause was that Android expects the Setup Wizard to be running. There is a flag which forces the WIzard to start, but I couldn't get this fix running on 7.1.1.
I installed an FTP Server on my Pixel and fetch the data off there.
There was no other way that to completely wipe the device. This will be the last time I will ever buy a phone without a SD card slot. With my Samsung device I could easily flash forth and back, because all my data was on my SD card, not being affected by a full wipe / reflash.

Also I assume the home button does not work like properly, correct?

This worked, thank you for the suggestion! I was able to pull all the pictures then factory reset the phone. Good to go.
