[Q] Disable stock utilities and applications - HTC One X

Hi,
I am now installing many utilities that replacing stock utilities such as keyboard or UI. In the phone it completely replaced the stock with new installed but the stock utilities/applications still running in Task Manager on top on new installed - Is this consider double memory ram usage???
Is there I able to complete stop the stock from running in the task manager or memory ram usage (if any)?

Keyboards definitely just use extra RAM

[Q] HTC Desire. Available memory is under 70mb alltime.

My phone ( HTC Desire ) have become very slow. It takes ~3 seconds to open Advanced task killer. It says that available memory is always under 70mb. Even with only Juiceplotter and Advanced task killer. It was before ~150mb.

Uninstall ATK! Restart and it will be much faster (apps will remain in memory!!!)...
have you thought about rooting and using a custom rom?
I now use Oxygen rom on a rooted desire with S-OFF and a custom partition - all of that is not too tricky to do... I have about 275MB free on internal storage even with all my apps (no apps on SD).
You will find excellent tutorials on all these mods and more on this site!

yes read above thread for which application is safe to remove, but as per title of thread
if you are doing this to make space then note, these applications stores in System ROM and making free space on system ROM, you can not use that space to replace other user application.
many ppl removing this (bloatware) to enhance performance by preventing them to run in background, though it is also debate whether really how much this help. b''coz android itself have some function to keep process running in background to recall it fast. so if you remove bloatware, that will be replaced by other application till android feel RAM if full, and same time android will autokill background process to make more free space available.
Since your device is root, use Directory Bind to put big data from internal to SD. For instance, i use it for Wild Blood, saving up to 2Gb of internal space. The game take only a longer time to launch.
Instead of deleting apps and risking seeing my device brick, i use the Android 4.1 freeze option, i think it's safer to use it, you can't freeze needed system apps.
Deleting apps is not as useful as doing it with other phones since there is around 780Mb of free system space. To free internal memory, with Titanium you can move apps from internal to system.
If you use Instagram a lot, move Instagram pictures from /storage/sdcard0/Pictures to sd card. Setup the camera to write to SD card.
Ofcourse you can use this space? What prevents you from making regular user apps to system apps?
I would suggest freezing apps first with Titanium, then after several days, if nothing happens, you can remove them. I used to do this all the time on my DHD and do it for a few apps on my N7.

[Q] Memory management issues on pa3.99

I'm running PA3.99-RC2 on i9100 (nims11 release) with the gapps recommended for this release (gapps-jb-20130726-pa4.3). During the last weeks I've been seeing strange behavior on my internal memory. It started with app updates failing with "Insufficient storage available" error despite memory manager showed ample empty space available. I found a simple workaround to completely uninstall each program and to re-install them. This worked ok and curiously enough, it was was also possible to install completely new apps without problems while updates kept failing.
Few days ago I flashed in the latest version (20131031) and hoped it would solve the problem, but it only got worse. I started getting a persistent "Storage space is running out" message while the memory manager showed still more than 100M internal memory available. After this install, hhe memory warning, however, started to affect behavior and result in random memory-related errors in various apps, rendering my phone borderline useless, so this morning I backed up my stuff with Helium, did a clean vanilla re-install of the rom and gapps with a factory reset, but just after installing few important apps back, I'm getting the same persistent Storage space running out error again.
Strorage manager shows Total internal storage 1,97 GB, Apps 593MB, Cache 1,2MB, Available 184MB. The same is reflected at the graphical bar. At times the graphical bar, however, momentarily flashes to show a single gray bar which indicates like the memory was almost full. Via root shell I see about the same amount of free space, but the sytem volume total size is given only as 593MB, so I'm a little bit confused.
Any help would be appreciated.
Since this is device specific you should probably take it to Nims thread.

Frankly, this was my first idea, but apparently I'm not allowed to post there because I'm a new user
(I can imagine, though, why such a forum policy is in place)
In the meanwhile I managed to get my phone back somehow usable by doing yet another clean install and then not restoring the Helium backup, but only manually intalling the most essential programs I need daily like Chrome, Swype and Maps. Still, somehow a big bulk of my internal memory is mysteriously gone unaccessible for the OS.

motorola defy cm 11 problems fix!!!!

those who have problems with defy 4.4.2 aremajor problems cm 11 nightly by quarx)
1) camera problem
fix:switch of usb debugging and install appkiller from play store.switch off everything in developement options and close all background processes
cause: the camera cant take too many background processes and kindly switch off usb debugging.
2)Gapps
fix: install recommended gapps by quarx.dont install anyother gapps. if u wish to do so, install the ones for cm 11.
3)apps are continously crashing
fix: for some devices rooting and flashing may be too much for it to take. the solution is simple just flash it back to froyo and back to kitkat.
4)battery problem:install appkiller and close back ground processes and dont open apps for no reason. if you keep it like that the battery drains easily. and also check your battery whether it has swelled or has damages.
these are the most commonly faced problems .try doing the above steps . press the thanks meter if i helped
Installing an appkiller or a 'task killer' is actually harmful. Android's built-in memory management system works fine, just clear recent apps. A task killer actually interferes with android's memory management system and can decrease performance and battery life.
