Is there a stock rooted A100 ICS ROM? - Acer Iconia Tab A100

Just bought an A100 used which was already running CM9, but I want to test the water before I settle in on a ROM. I tried Reaper and it was good, but I do like stock ICS.

No...not yet anyway....ZeroNull made one for the A101....hopefully he'll do one for the A100....either way...if you like the stock then just go back to that and run the root....super simple and easy

Just be careful what you flash trough CWM if you plan to flash the stock ROM remove bootloader.blob and recovery folder from the archive.
Send from my A100

Yeah dont want to use that since it failed to boot my phone. Not sure if its any different now but from what I know it was built from source and isn't an extract from a stock phone
Hmmmm. Good to know. I will investigate further.

Bricked T-Mobile T989

I had my phone rooted and running the Darkside ROM " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473077 " and I installed the new ported ICS from the Skyrocket " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566811 " and now my phone is stuck on the Samsung logo and won't do anything else. I pull the battery and doesn't work. I have CWM installed and it does not go to it either. I've searched and can't find anything. Help me on this please
is your phone still able to go into download mode?

Do not flash unstable roms. I usually wait for official stable roms and making a nand backup before doing anything.

If you want to use the skyrocket port use DARKSIDE SUPER WIPE! I was having the same problem then i started from scratch, did the super wipe, installed the skyrocket rom and it runs perfect for me.

Note for future: use the backup feature in recover before flashing things you aren't sure of.
The backup in recovery is referred to as a nandroid if you didn't know already, it will always bring you back to exactly how your phone previously was. This way you won't have to ever ODIN to stock.

[Q] Need help restoring non-boooting Nexus

Can someone link to a guide dealing with restoring a Nexus? It's stuck at the Google logo. I can get into bootloader mode with power+volume down, but it's not reacting when trying to navigate with the volume buttons after that.
I got a little bit tired of waiting for official firmware on my Galaxy S2 (even if CM was fun) so I got a Nexus yesterday - great price these days. It was the 4.0.1 yakju version as I'm in Western Europe.Unlocked and rooted with Root Toolkit v1.4 after which I wanted to install 4.0.4 using this guide. Got as far as flashing system.img and then the above happened.
All I want is to get back to working stock so that I can flash 4.1. Have no data on the device so a factory reset is no problem.
Much appreciated.

Just fastboot flash Nexus Factory Images if you have no problem with wiping your data. That's odd that your bootloader won't respond to volume buttons... I might say try reflashing the bootloader and recovery, but since your bootloader is acting up right now, I'd go to flashing the factory images first, and if that doesn't work, try reflashing just bootloader and a custom recovery.

BTW, volume down and power is not the bootloader. You need to press volume up and volume down and power.

Flashed with CWM-SuperSU-v0.92-mod which worked like a charm. I now have both Superuser and SuperSU installed, with the latter taking precedence, but I guess that doesn't matter.

[TUTORIAL] How To Root the Sprint Galaxy S2 (SPH-D710)

I was recently asked to post some threads here on XDA with the tutorials I have on my site. As time permits I will be posting a series of threads here to the Q&A section that will hopefully answer most questions that might come up.
If you can't find your answer in one of my threads I would highly recommend BluesRulez One Stop FAQ Thread. It is an awesome resource and has answers to just about every question I've seen come up!
__________________
This thread details the process of how to root your device without having to flash a full stock ROM. This method works for the Sprint, Boost and Virgin Samsung Galaxy S2 (SPH-D710, SPH-D710BST and SPH-D710VMUB).
This method uses an Odin One-Click Kernel to install a kernel that includes a Custom Recovery. Once booted into the Custom Recovery you can then flash Superuser which will root your phone and give you Superuser access.
Prerequisites:
A PC running Windows with the Samsung Mobile Drivers Installed. The Samsung Mobile Drivers are available here.
Any One-Click Kernel (preferably from the Android version you will be using, i.e. GB, ICS or JB).
All Sprint One-Click Recovery kernels can be found here.
For this particular tutorial I used the following kernels:
Gingerbread: Chris41g's EL26 Stock CWM5 Repack
Ice Cream Sandwich: Agat63's tFI27 Stock Recovery Repack (rev 2)
Jelly Bean: Agat63's Source-Built GB27 Recovery
Superuser (or SuperSU, MIUI Security, and etc) in a flashable zip, saved on your Internal or External SD Card.  For this method I used SuperSU v1.25 (but any SU in a flashable ZIP should work). You can download several different versions here.
Although not required it is recommended that you have Samsung Kies installed on your PC as well. You can download Samsung Kies here.
Side-Effects:
This method will trigger the Yellow Triangle upon start-up and will increase your Odin count.
It will also change your startup screen to look like the International GS2 startup screen.
Both of these side-effects are very easy to overcome due to the hard work of Chainfire and Garwynn. You can get TriangleAway from Chainfire's thread here.
For the rest of the tutorial please visit my site: www.rwilco12.com
Enjoy!

Will any of these methods work with FL24? I'm new to rooting Samsungs and am used to simply rooting via exploits through ADB. I have the phone rooted (temp rooted?) via the exploit in Framaroot and am trying to get a custom recovery installed next to flash a ROM. Thanks!

The Kernel One-Click flashes the kernel and recovery together. They are combined on the E4GT.

You might have to turn SU on depending on which version you flashed. Open the app and see if under settings you see something like "Enable SuperUser" and make sure it's enabled.
If that doesn't fix it we may need to try another zip with a different set of symlinks. Either way, we're here for you and will get you squared away.

If you're asking - Can I flash VM builds on the Sprint D710, the answer is - yes. Did it when I tested the builds and everything worked properly.
If you're asking - Can I flash a VM build and be on VM service? Obviously you'll need to be activated to their service and provisioned properly. That's when you'd need to make sure that mmsc/apn/nv data is captured. I don't know if VM is a byod provider. (write that shiz down)

Yes. Many, many people have used this method successfully.
There's nothing wrong with a stock kernel, it just doesn't have a custom recovery packed into it or any kernel tweaks.
But I am confused... If you're already rooted why are you pulling your hair out?

K. Before you dive in too much further I would recommend doing a little more research. This device had had issues in the past that have made it very easy to brick. You should be very careful.
As a side note - This thread is a how to root thread but it sounds like you're already rooted. I don't know that there's any reason to reroot your device. You don't actually have to be rooted to get on JB either. You could just flash a one-click of a JB ROM.

Exactly, stock phone plus root equals stock rooted ROM. Unless you need rooted and deodexed, in which case the search feature works great as pointed out. I myself have gone through this and I know there is more than one out there.
That said, I am feeling nice right now, so here is the one I use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2274795
It's stock, rooted, deodexed, and has advanced power menu. I think that's about it.
