[Q] MMS Settings Help - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I've searched the forums for the answer but can't find it. i want to flash my Sprint E4GT over to the ICS FB21 Rom, and have read the how tos on what to do. They all state that I need to make note of my MMS settings and give you directions where to find it in the phone. Problem...I can't find the setting under "mobile network". Could someone point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

What settings exactly are you looking for? Try going into messaging, hit menu, then settings and see if you find what you're looking for there.

There are some settings that will require you to know your MSL. Are you trying to set the mms server or what?

Its the settings for the mms config. And I'm a bit of a noob....dont know what MSL is.

The instructions say to go to Wireless and Network > Mobile Network and its supposed to be in there. All I see is the option to turn off/on 3G data.

There are some settings in the messaging app. Just open it - menu - settings
If you're trying to set the mms server it's using or other things like that type:
Code:
getprop ril.msl
in a terminal emulator and hit enter. That number is your MSL. Now open the phone dialer like you're making a call and dial ##3282# (##data#)
Now select EDIT - OTHERS - MMSC URL (it will ask for your MSL after selecting EDIT - so write that number down)
That will allow you to change the server used for mms messages if you are looking to do that.

Okay thank you. Hopefully this will solve my problem with the mms service not working with the fb21 rom.

Mms settings: dial ##data* in dial pad msl code: 000000
And you should be able to setup everything from there or dial
##276* code is 333333 and
username=(phone#)@mycricket.com and password=cricket. mms settings are: server url= mms.mycricket.com/mms/servlets
Mmc=310
Mnc=00
Any more questions let me know i have a list of codes for cricket network setup

Still wondering.

Yes. Cricket was having a lot of network problems recently, it should be pretty easy to figure out now

One thing I did that worked for me was use GOSMS Pro from the Android Market. My preferred SMS app anyway, and went into the settings and found the APN option in there:
Menu > Settings > Advanced (tab) > MMS Settings > APN configuration. Checked Fill APN configuration manually, then set the following:
MMSC: http://mms.mycricket.com/mycricket/mms.php or http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: wap.mycricket.com
MMS Port: 8080
Worked fine for me.
Note: This was when I had my Evo on cricket around 2 months ago, now I have one on Sprint. Just thought I'd give my 2 cents. :]

NO MMS on E4gt flashed to boost Settings are correct Stock ICS

I have a e4gt on boostmobile everything worked great until today. My MMS was working perfectly after I flashed. A few months later I got the ICS OTA update, the MMS still worked just fine. Now about a week after the update my MMS has stopped working. I can receive MMS but not send. I am receiving normally not from a short number. I checked my MMSC URL and it did not change from: http://mm.myboostmobile.com I ahve made no changes to the phone. Also something weird is happening when I go to the ##DEBUG# menu it asks for a lock code. I have to connect it to QXDM and send the Samsung defult password to bypass this, then it asks for the MSL. Before on GB it was just the MSL.
I don't get it?? Why all of a sudden would this happen out of nowhere? Anyone have any ideas? I'm stumped....
does anyone have an update on this

Yea I am still having the same problem. I have tried third party messaging apps for MMS but nothing works. I can send mms with a link via heywire but its not true MMS, or anywhere close to being native. Has anyone found a fix for this?
Just answered this same question in another post today.

Seriously? Did you read the post I wrote yesterday above this? You need to dial ##3282# which is the ##data# menu and follow the directions given.

[Q] GB08 No MMS?

I'm on Boost Mobile, just flashed to Kobridge's Stock GB08 Deodexed with extras. Everything works great! But I cant send MMS. I can receive, but not send. I tried getting my MSL through terminal emulator. I grant SU, type "getprop ril.MSL", then nothing. So I cant get any further to go change things around. Any fix for this? Many thanks!

If you'd like to get your MSL, look in this thread - Acquiring MSL Fix! (For ICS & JB)
Also, once you get your msl, verify your mmsc/apn settings.. here's a starter for you - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31680542&postcount=3

I just went through this last week- call boost and ask for your msl. They didn't ask me what I wanted it for or anything...AND, here's a direct number to a Boost representative I found that works- 877-438-8643 -it's magic. No phone trees or anything.
edit- I guess they don't always want to give out the msl, but they did for me with no problems or questions. Good luck!
Get your msl. Once you have that, open up your phone and dial ##data# and hit edit, enter your msl, then hit others. Change the mmsc url to http://mm.myboostmobile.com and then change the last digit on the proxy from 7 to 1. Then you should be all set

Sprint APN settings for slide sms?

Has anyone properly set up their APN settings for slide sms? I can't send or receive mms without manually configuring the APN settings.

I have search A LOT about this, but nothing that work. I hope someone can answer this! Good luck.
I dialed ##DATA# and matched up the APN settings. I can now receive, but not send mms.
*edit* I emailed the dev of the app and he said it is a known issue, and that Sprint won't work in terms of sending mms.

Dude I'm in he same boat as you are and I've given up hope after hundreds of attempts and hours of research. MMS wouldn't work on any custom ROMs I installed... Not even with GO SMS PRO. I could get MMS on GO SMS PRO when I was stock 4.0.4 FH13 but hat stock build was buggy. And I don't want to have to use GO SMS PRO for MMS anyway... If u ever catch on to anything PLEASE let me know.. But no one on this forum has been able to help me with this issue guess not many Ppl have our phone flashed to VZW with MMS working?

I found a solution on YouTube but it involves using Go sms pro:/
But it worked for me
First go to the dialer and dial ##3282#
Then go to mmsc and type : http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
Third go into multimedia and type this as follows there should be 4 thing's to change
0.0.0.0
0
0.0.0.0
8080
Then open up go sms and go to settings and advanced ..mms settings and enable apns configuration
Under mmsc type the same as the one at the top
And then go to mms port and type 8080
Reboot
Should work
That's it .. it worked for me hope it works for you hope you understand
Im on an epic 4g touch by the way
