I've been using GO SMS but I want to try out the stock Messaging app. However I notice, under the "To:" row, how do I see my entire list of contacts to choose who can I send the SMS to? I can only tap the first few characters to show the name I want to SMS?

Is there anyway to add a shortcut to "Favorites" in the dialer?
In one location is my most common dialed numbers and also frequent dialed number, so i'd like to add a shortcut to it on my home screen.
Thanks!
Why not go to shortcuts>direct dial and choose you contacts I'm not sure that there is such a way to have a shortcut to the favorites..
*hold the screen like adding a widget* and go to shortcuts and find direct dial and I should allow you to pick a contact
And if you don't like having a whole bunch of icons then you can put them in a folder and name it "favorites" if your on adw idk if anything else does that.

Long press and go to folder. There should be Starred Contacts within that menu!

This is correct but I think direct dial may be faster but more work in putting it together.

Oh no question! But it might depend on what someone wanted to use it for. Dialing or messaging, but then I guess a direct message would be faster to. Damn, you win !! lol

Yeah i have done this, but there's extra steps to call.
1. Click on Staredfolder,
2. Click on name,
3. Click on number,
and to text
1. Click on Staredfolder,
2. Click on name,
3. Click on message,
4. select number from popup (if more then one number on contact)
Also there is not a list of frequently called numbers...
If there was a shortcut to Favs, it would be:
1. click on favs
2. swipe to call/text
Yeah I can click on the phone, then click on the "favorites", but was looking to save steps
Thanks again!

Hold your finger over the text message and you will get the delete option. You can also do this over the whole thread to delete that thread from a person.
No when u go to add a recipient u can choose from a list of recents. But theres no way to delete that list

I can't replicate this issue, but I'm not totally stock, either. Please advise:
ROM/Kernel version? (IE: I'm using OsiMood 2.01.30, and the Cranium Kernel)
Stock Messaging App? (IE: I'm using GO SMS Pro)
Thanks

I think he's talking about when you add a recipient and it lets you choose from a list of recent recipients that you have texted.

Thanks, I'm still trying to replicate the issue, I'm not seeing it. I sent a text message to a friend, then:
New text --> Add Recipients --> Recent
Their name was first
I canceled that message, deleted the text I sent them, then:
New text --> Add Recipients --> Recent
Their name was no longer there.
I also did:
New text --> Add Recipients --> Recent --> Checked a bunch of different names, clicked "Add"
It added all the recipients. I did a long-press on each name, and a menu pops up with options for Delete and Edit, both options worked.
Can you give a step-by-step what you're doing, what results you get, and what you think is missing?
Thanks

?? Your contacts are added to your Gmail account on the phone. Do you mean when you type in Gmail you want to have auto completed addresses?
Sorry just don't understand what you mean.

Hey,
Yeah that works for me already. If I type "a" in the address field it shows me all the "a" contacts stored in my gmail account. It doesn't offer contacts that I have recently mailed they have to exist already in contacts which are linked to my gmail address.
Hope that works for you.

Log into your gmail on a desktop computer and look at your contacts list. There you can add, delete contacts you want. All the phone will do is pull down the contacts that are added to your gmail contacts. Does that help you?
