OK so I have an epic 4g touch and and have all kinds of goodies for it. My wife wants to get me the best tab. She thinks the Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 is best I love it also. OR I can get something within that range say ipad2, xoom, ps3, 360, psvita. I'm really loving the tab but why get it when my epic 4g touch is so much similar. I just feel like the tab is same only bigger. So I'm thinking to myself I can just get a micro HDMI and plug it in my 60'' led flat screen and just go get something else. Hmmm. I need help! Plz
What would you do????

If this is your pick, as it seems it is, get what you want. you stated a few different things. I have A 360 and love it. I have a galaxy tab 10.1 and love it. and i have an epic touch and love it. if your looking for a toy get the 360. it really boils down to what your looking to use what you want for. a tablet is good for web browsing, videos, and i use it at school. gaming is just gaming. its fun.as for a different tab like a ipad, you probably might want to re think that if your an android platform lover like i am. they are two totally different ui systems. and as for a xoom, i would go and fiddle with it and other tablets at best buy or something. I heard the asus transformer prime is nice. it is a quad core unit.
again, its wahat YOU want. happy buying!!!

if your going to get a tablet, the prime is the one. I have EP4GT also.
I have one, is slick, great screen, fast and have ICS. Colors are not that saturated like amoled screen, but it looks good.
I have a prime and if you don't care about using it for GPS its definitely the one to get. It will not work as a stand alone nav system but it does everything else awesome. I have a Tom Tom BT GPS antenna and the Sygic app for nav that makes nav work flawless. Playing movies on a HDTV works great. Splashtop app comes on it to link your desktop or laptop to it which is really sweet.

I heard about gps and wifi issues on it. GPS yea I wouldn't use it on a tab. Suck it don't work like it should. I have a GPS already. But then other people say it works like it should idk if they have a different version of something. There are a lot of bad comments on some of the videos like bad wifi/GPS and that it has a touch screen delay and stuff like what's the quad core for it looks like a normal dual core phone but regardless all that I think its incredible

No tablet competes with the iPad in the user experience department. However, if you are dead set on an Android tablet for some reason, go with the Asus Transformer Prime.

Love my Prime, Don't have too much Wifi issue but my GPS is spotty, still at first it didnt work but the latest updates helped a little. So all the problems people are talking about slow, choppy, laggy, could be fixed eventually. The 10.1" is old now, and for almost the same price you can get the Prime with quad core and have the dock (which is a major selling point) if you want. Best of both worlds, tablet and netbook.

I'm not going to hate on the ipad. My bro has one and its beautiful. The iPhone/ipads have always been incredibly smooth with no signs of lag ever. That's one thing I love is how smooth it is. Like when I got my epic 4g touch its really smooth I couldn't stand the lagginess of my g2x so I got this one. My bro has the iPhone 4s and I love the smoothness and he wants my phone because how big it is and the open source lol.

If you really want the best, you must get the asus transformer prime. Don't listen to the haters, the tab is awesome. I use it every day and barely use my laptop anymore. The prime looks really sweet, is thin, nice metal finish, and has lots of firepower (tegra 3 os quad core). Asus is super quick with updates ( already got 3 maintenance updates and ics since release). Also the keyboard dock is unique feature and really expands the functionality of the tab, even if you don't wasn't the dock, you still have that option for the future.

I'd say if you had to get something now, it should be the Prime. If you could wait a tad bit longer you could wait and see if samsung, etc. are gonna be coming out with their tablets in the near future. I also think the transformer prime HD is coming out june? supposed to have a 1900 x 1200 resolution screen. The would be insannne.

The gtab has AOKP. That's all you need
Tegra 3 + IPS Display with decent build quality and around $200 is what's making it easy to pull the trigger. I have to pull it though because it's running Jelly Bean, and will be up-to-date in comparison to any other tablet.
I might be selling my gtab 2 with omap4460 chipset and wolfson 1811 sound chip soon.
...
Pretty sure I'm in. Only question is whether or not to sell my xoom.

I *want* to be in because I like my GNex phone so much. But I'm not sure about the whole 7" thing. If I want real portability I'll use my phone. I'd rather have a 10+ inch display on a tablet which makes magazines, newspapers, Google Reader more enjoyable. I'm not sure I get the whole 7" tablet idea (for any manufacturer). Seems like just a big phone that starts to limit the things you can do with it.
What bag can you carry a 7" tablet in that you can't carry 10"? Do people really look at a 10" tablet and think they will have trouble carrying it around compared to a 7"? (serious question).
Not sure about the 7 inch form factor...i do know that the ten inch felt too big to me on the galaxy tab.
I'm also not convinced about the utility of a tablet.between my wife and myself we have 3 laptops,2 chromebooks, 2 newish Android phones (gn+gs2) and a kindle.
I just don't understand what a tablet does better than the rest of that.
BUT,i love geeking out with the roms, etc...so I'm in on the nexus7...

Any ideas if the little fella will come with a sim slot for mobile data?
That'll be the deciding factor for me.
Blue Dark Tapatalk'd (GSM Galaxy Nexus)
I probably will buy it. But I Love the form factor of my galaxy tab 8.9 it is large enough to get more information on the screen, but not to big where you might as well have a laptop. I think that's the best tablet size IMO.
I was really interested but I'm not so sure I can justify it. I already have two "bastard" android Tablets. An hp zeen with no market or apps (7"), and an HP touchpad where most games are blocked or don't work (10", 3:2). I would really like something a bit bigger than 7" or something with an amoled screen, but it will be nice to have something with better support.

Hi everyone,
Ive just sold my A100, I got £115 for it, not too bad as I paid 210 for it last year. I've been hardly using it recently as my touchpad has been doing double duty for work and Web browsing, and I'm definitely getting A Nexus 7, for the screen alone I suppose, once you use an IPS for a long time the difference is astounding. That and the layout seems a lot better on the UI side of things.
I've loved all the support and the hard work from many of you from rooting to unlocking the bootloader and the nightly cm goodness
Cheers all

Hi everyone, I'd like to see what do you think.. I won a LG 4X HD this christmas and at first I got very happy but after.. I saw that it has a locked bootloader and there aren´t custom roms for it. I got an proposal for it, an white Gnex + $150 but I don´t know it it worths, because the processor, camera and screen seems to be be better on the 4x.. but the a nexus is a nexus.. . So, what is your opinion? (Here in Brazil, a Galaxy Nexus costs like $790 and a 4X HD $900)

I agree that the LG 4X HD is a beast in specs compared to the Galaxy Nexus. It has a Tegra 3 processor which is clocked at 1.5GHz which is a quad core (however it might not matter at all since the Galaxy Nexus is awesome with Jelly Bean), a much larger battery and even a microSD card slot if you put a lot of media onto your device.
Is the LG 4X HD you won in new condition? Also is the white Galaxy Nexus in good condition?
Also have you previously owned a Nexus device before?
I would personally go with the Galaxy Nexus (if its in good condition) and cash because I am a flash addict and if you are too.. then you know what to do.
I have gnex and its awesome I am due an upgrade but would rather keep the gnex
There is so many ROMs/kernels for the gnex and very soon Ubuntu phone will be available. I don't know anything about the lg 4x but with a locked boot loader and no custom ROMs etc I personally would take the gnex.
This is only my opinion so I would wait for others to comment who may know more about the 4x.
Hope this little input can help you make up your mind

My 4X HD is new and the Gnex too, i've never owned a Nexus device before but I have custom roms at all my androids, CM10 my Defy, CM10.1 on Transformer Prime, CM10 on XOOM (almost a Nexus) and CM9 on my Galaxy Ace.
I'd stick with the Nexus too. Even versus better hardware, you can't beat the development. Software > Hardware IMO...
I'd probably buy another GNex if anything happened to this one.

100% get the Galaxy Nexus and cash or if you can, sell the 4X HD for a lot more since you do seem to have a lot of "up to date" devices due to the custom roms
Since the device is new, you'll love it and you won't notice the performance difference if you used the 4X HD compared to the Galaxy Nexus.
And of course, you are in the Nexus forums so it'll be biased

The only thing that I am afraid is that the Gnex just have 16GB, the 4X has 16GB + a 64GB sd card but thats why I will still use my iPod Touch

This is why I will be sticking with nexus line from here on out. Waiting for the carrier to decide when and what to update is not something I'm interested in. From a owner of a 7" and 10" tablet (Nook and Toshiba Thrive), the 7" meets my reading and gaming needs, but the 10" is better for watching movies and streaming video. I personally only use the 10" now. I read on my gs3 now. Best part is I bought my Thrive from an apple owner who didn't like android. It was released in the summer 2011 for $600 (32gb) and I bought it for $200 and it didn't even look used. It has full sized HDMI, usb, micro usb, and I'm running 4.1.1.
One Dev worked on it for 6 months getting everything working. I've rooted quite a few Nexus 7 for my friends and they are great tablets as I'm sure the 10" is, but for my uses I didn't need the latest tech. So in the end if you can afford it screen size can never be to big. (That coming from someone who just bought a 70" TV because 60" just wasn't big enough).

Bought a nexus 7 for my daughter in fourth grade. Works wonderful for all the games, movies, streaming..No lag at all. She doesn't have to close out apps or worry about anything, just works.
So for the processing power...the 7 works great. Only thing I can compare it too is kindle myself...which it blows away.
Not disappointed is my point I guess. No idea on the 10.
She plays Netflix, Comcast on demand, and Spotify. As well as any game she wants from store, and the hd hack version of YouTube for the 720p.

Personally, I would go with a Nexus 10 (thought about trading in my iPad 2 for a Nexus 10, but it was too much hassle for right now). But it might be better to wait a while...the Nexus 10 is in its first generation and there are rumors they might release a refresh. I'd also take a hard look at the next generation Windows tablets...the ones with the full x86 Windows 8. I'm planning to replace my laptop and iPad with a Windows tablet, surface 2 if it's good or something comparable. Makes lots of sense to me to replace two devices with one, and have my main computing power in my desktop!
Cool thanks , my kid wants a big screen hd and I want a power ful tablet lol ,still undecided but for sure we're getting a tablet tomorrow..

The 10 is better in almost every way, I however went with the 7 due to it's portability. Either way you can't go wrong with either device

Hey bro glad to here about your latest android addition. However I need to let you kmow about a problem a lot of the Nexus 7's are having. I got one for X-Mas and started doing all the normal things you would do with a new device root, rom and some research. I found out that a lot of them are having problems with the screen lifting off the bezel. So about 2 days after I got it I noticed the screen was getting loose. So I held it up and looked at the edge and my screen was coming up. I could push the screen down and it would just push itself up. There are some guides on how to fix it at home but they never lasted for me, the problem just came back. I ended up taking mine back. I hope you dont have this problem. But I would look into it just to be safe.

So I held it up and looked at the edge and my screen was coming up. I could push the screen down and it would just push itself up. There are some guides on how to fix it at home but they never lasted for me, the problem just came back. I ended up taking mine back. I hope you dont have this problem. But I would look into it just to be safe.
