[Q] NFC Task Launcher & Tasker - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I am using a Verizon Galaxy Nexus with stock 4.0.2. I am trying to use NFC Task Launcher in conjunction with Tasker, but it doesn't seem to be working. Basically, I just have two simple tasks I created in Tasker, the first one simply enables car mode and the second disables car mode. Inside of NFC Task Launcher I created switch, with the first task being to launch the car mode enabled task from tasker and the second to run the disable task from tasker.
When I write the tag and test it, I see in my status bar that the the task is run in NFC Task Launcher but nothing actually happens...my phone does not go into car mode as it should. FYI, I have the Car Mode Control app and CarHome Ultra app on my phone to make up for Samsungs lack of car mode options. I also have the "allow external access" option checked in Tasker. Just to be sure I wasn't missing something small, I created another task to just open an app and that didn't work as well.
Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated!

Was Tasker installed before NFC Task Launcher? This is necessary as it provides a permission and Android's current permission model breaks if package A provides a permission to B but B was installed before A.

Worked!
Wow, that worked. Thank you!

Bluetooth
I have a follow up question regarding turning on and off bluetooth. I used NFC Task Launcher to enable/disable bluetooth. The enabling part works, but it won't disable it. Any ideas?

I have a question about tasker
I am new to this forum after getting some NFC tags and I saw some good ideas about what to do with the tags from another thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428226)
I would like to know if there is a way to use if then statements in tasker to swap my WiFi for the below scenario
I have two wireless networks at home (Lounge Network/Office Network) and I will have a NFC tag between the two networks. I would like the event to identify the network I am connected to and pick the other.
Any help with this would be great

Again, I tried this several times with no avail. Any help?
Edit: I had a colon in the task name. It won't launch the task if there is one. May want to add that to your app description.

Do either of these exist?

2 different cables / adapters, one for automatic entering of car dock mode, the other for automatic entering of desk dock mode.
I've been searching all over this site and the net trying to find anything comparable to what I envision. I see that HTC has one out for the One X, but I would like some assurance that it will work for our phones as well before I shell out cash, and I have yet to find one with desk mode functionality...

use nfc, i use nfc tasker and got my tags from tagsfordroid works great and cheap too
I've got NFC tags and I'm using the Google Car Home app via NFC Task Launcher. I originally set it up to open the app but there was no convenient way to automatically close it. What I found, and others may already be aware of this, is that the Car Home app can be set to monitor BT and when a specific connection is made it will automatically start the Car Home app. Also, when the connection is lost for a user configurable period of time it will automatically close the app. So now all I use the tag for is to turn on BT and set volumes & brightness.
So even though the store says the app isn't compatible it is and just needs to be manually installed.

NFC: 2 devices, touch them together to launch Tasker task?

This is what I would like to do, and any insight is welcome.
2 Devices:
Razr M
Nexus 7 (2013)
I'd like to be able to touch their backs together (screens off if possible) and have the Razr M toggle its mobile hotspot on and off. I know I can do the later via a Tasker task, but how do i actually trigger that task via NFC when it it 2 devices and not an NFC tag?
Thanks!

Hi, screen off is not possible unless you modify your NFC.APK. Beside that, you can could use the Android Beam feature. I hacked together a little app called NFC Hotspot as some sparetime/ hobby project a while ago ...it starts the wifi hotspot on the first device, sends the data (SSID +password) to the second device and connects it (-> so, app must be installed on both device ...) it works and it´s stable.
I currently can´t put any additional time in it, so it´s in some as-is state, don´t expect some additional features or eye-candy, but as mentioned, it works ....

Tasker profiles for Note 2014

I figured it would be about time we made a thread specifically to discuss profiles that work for the Note 2014.
Note buddy plugin and gmd gesture control.
I use the Note buddy plugin to detect removal and insertion of the spen to pause and unpause the gesture control service since it being on interferes with the pen's usage.
Usb connected/disconnected
I use this to set input box to come up anytime I connect my USB OTG keyboard or disconnect it. This lets me switch to the external keyboard helper so I can use all the nifty shorcuts and such I have mapped to the keyboard.
Wifi near
Trying to use the wifi near ability to automatically connect to my mobile hotspot on my phone anytime it is detected even if already connected to another network. And then exit the profile whenever the hotspot is no longer detected. I am having some trouble getting this one figured out so If anyone knows how to make such a profile work or can figure it out let me know as It would be really useful for me when I am on a crowded wifi and want to switch over to my hotspot.
That's all I have right now. I am going to set up one for using the device as a gps and open maps whenever it detects it has been connected to the hotspot while being bluetoothed to my car's stereo system.

Couple of Bluetooth doubts

Hi there. First of all, I'm NO root. So I can't use Wanam Xposed. Maybe we can help each other to solve these issues.
-Is it possible to disable bluetooth popup when enabling it? I don't want to select my already connected device each time I want to enable BT.
-Is it possible to change the default player for BT? When I'm connected to my car and I touch "play" button, the default Music app in the phone starts, not the lastest one or any other app. I'd like to open another app instead (podcast player).
-Is it possible to enable Bluetooth WITHOUT unlocking the phone? I mean, from the lockscreen. (I have fingerprint security)
Thanks!
Why?
This link doesn't make any sense, you wind up in the same place on a browser instead of the app that I paid for that doesn't work.
Pp.
AFIK there is no way to hide the Bluetooth popup without root. Also I don't mind the popup, better than having to go all the way through settings to connect to a Bluetooth device that I am not already paired with. also if multiple Bluetooth devices in the area that are paired you will just connect to one and you will have to go to settings to switch to the other device.
Default player would also have to be changed through root, If you even can.
And no you cannot turn off anything or open notifications when there is a screen lock. The whole point is to stop people from doing things to your phone while it is locked. However you can setup safe locations (uses gps to find your location) where your phone will stay unlocked just like when you have a trusted device connected via Bluetooth.

automated/programatic Systemprofile switching in 15.1 without bt/wifi triggers

TLDR how to switch profile through (not super-) user shell commands or suggestion: implement geofence trigger for profiles
In LOS14 i used a third party app called automate to, well, automate systemprofile switching using it's CyanogenMod function with GPS position as script parameter.
It seems this was a legacy option in 14 that didnt carry over and is incompatible with 15.
Is there a way to switch profiles without the build in triggers? In other words, I'd like to use non-su shell commands to change the profile somehow as my wireless LAN behaves wonky at times and there is none at work in the first place - I do not wish to switch the work profile on every time I drive the car.
Alternatively, it'd be awesome if geofence based triggers could find their way into the profile system to sidestep the whole issue of 3rd party support in this instance.
