Running Liquid 1.3 Rom with Franco Kernel
48% Battery left
1h47min on battery
1h15min screen on time
Brightness is at approx 70%
No wallpaper and therefore black screen
Battery Status says "Good"
Surely this isn't normal?? I've tried various other roms and its the same.
I dunno but I just got this phone today, stock and rooted. My battery dropped from 100% to 90% in about 20 minutes. Not a good sign...
I thought my old HTC Desire HD was bad but this is in a different league. I'm on 39% now!
I get about 14 hours with moderate usage and about 3.5 hours of screen on time before the phone dies.
Try using CPUSpy & BetterBatteryStats app to see if the phone goes to deep sleep when screen is off.

Were u using wifi? If not and on a 4g connection the whole time then u should not be surprised by that battery percentage. 2 hours of screen on time with constant 4g is pretty typical.

That looks about normal. You have a 4.65" display, pumping a lot of juice into it. Turn the brightness down to %50 or less.

anyone else having outstanding battery life with this phone?? I am at 18 percent after 17 hours i honestly can't believe this battery life is this good. amazing.

btw when i got it yesterday i let the battery run all the way down then charged it all the way back up it at around 1 yesterday central time ran it all the way down and charged it all the way back up around 7 pm and it's still on the same charge. and i have been using the hell out of it (no 4g though)
I only got 7.5 hrs today
I got 12 hours today, HOWEVER, 8 of those hours were with music playing none stop and 1 hour of internet while music was playing. Didn't touch a charger once. My EVO, rooted with godmode and freedom kernal still had to be charged at lunch to last throughtout my 10 hour shift.
I love this phone.
I had a weird issue just now. Battery was at 26 percent. Did a reboot by holding the power button down for 8 seconds or whatever it is. When it booted back up about 30 seconds later i had 10 percent battery. anyone else have this happen?

Since today was back to work day I decided to test the ET in a "real world usage scenario." All radios were on, including Bluetooth and Moar-Geez. I had sync enabled and hourly, including a push E-mail account. During the "beefy part," of the day, meaning 8am - 3pm, I was using moderate to heavy. During the downtime between 2pm - 5pm, I was using heavily and from 5pm - 8pm, there was moderate usage. So, I came home and right before plugging the phone into the charger I was at 40% battery on 15 hours. I am stoked. It is good. Zen.
You guys should calibrate your battery. Let the phone charge to 100%, run the app, unplug your phone.
This will wipe your battery stats and SHOULD give you a pretty accurate description of where you stand. We did flash a new kernel, and that can take some time for the system to get used to it. That's what I've learned from my Evo anyways.

This happened to me, but it went from about 45% to 20% after I reset. However, it took for ever for it to go down to 19%, 18% and I still had about 17% when I plugged it in around 11p.m. after taking off the charger around 7:30a.m. That was with a little over 3 hours of on screen time. I was surfing the web, about 100 texts, xda, about 10 mintues of vid games. I had skype running in the back ground most of the day. I had Wifi on all day and connected about 90% of the time. I didn't have GPS, 4G, or Bluetooth on. That's pretty damn good. I think the drop must have been a software issue.....?
from 7:30am - 12:48, I'm currently @ 72% from full charge.
Not as good as i hoped it would be.
Could it be from Launcher Pro?
my evo 4g would get to 50% from 7:30-5:30.
I dont have my 4g or bluetooth conected. just 3g data.
Not too good from me. 2h49m screen time only have 20% left ....

My battery life has been killer since day 1. Unplugged Saturday night at 8pm and when I woke up on Monday morning I was at 5% left. Over a day of use is amazing compared to my old hero and the evo 3d I test drove for a month.
Amazon?
Out of curiosity, do the people who get astoundingly good battery life have Amazon's app store installed?
On my Evo 4G I used to sometimes get up to 48 hours on a charge. Then it went down considerably and I could never figure out why. Even a new battery didn't work. I uninstalled a bunch of my key background apps like Settings Profiles but they didn't do the trick either.
The Amazon App Store runs poorly at best. Thus I always wondered if it could be the culprit.
Coming from the OG Epic, the ET's battery life is amazing. I haven't yet needed to reboot my phone due to the battery problems I've been hearing about. *knocks on wood*
Lately, I noticed my battery has been dying much faster than normal. I got the phone maybe like 3 weeks ago, and it was lasting longer. I'm not sure if it's some app I downloaded or just the bad radios in 4.0.2 causing me to keep searching for signal, but it's definitely impacted how much I use my phone.
Anyone know what's going on? Or if theres some known issue with this?
Attached are some pictures of the running applications and the battery charts.
8.5hrs with 31% is pretty good to me.
You should look at my battery, 5hrs down to 16% (I have all active sync disabled, turned of 4G AND screen brightness only at like 5% for the entire time.)
*sigh*
If you look that is almost all standby time, which should be lasting way longer.
That's not horrible but you should look into what's waking up your phone so often.
Whats your screen-on time there? It looks like its really low.

Well look at your "awake" bar. Something is consistently waking the phone. Just syncing email etc wouldn't keep it awake that long. Its another app.
Use something like "BetterBatteryStats" to monitor microscopically whats waking the device.
Thanks, I'll use that app and post results.
Another thing is I looked at the cell standby, and it told me that 25% of the time it did not have signal. Could searching for signal cause the intense battery usage?

Looks like you had some times of bad signal based on your screenshots, but not the entire time.
Bottom line your phone should be idling much better than that. Granted I'm on GSM and not LTE, but when I turn off my screen and let it idle (i.e. forget to plug it in over night) the graph is almost flat. It will idle forever. Yours is not seeming to do that.
reboot..
I reboot my phone twice a week. It works really good.
Battery after a reboot and 9 hours standby. 96%
Without a reboot 70%
Big difference..

After much testing, I found out the anti-theft feature in Avast! is causing the massive battery drain. It prevents the phone from going to sleep.
Ow that sucks well out with that app, I use avg very good. Also I get an average battery usage of 3hours screen on time.
That's with most syncs on also wifi and GPS are always on.
Usually its bad apps that can't handle ics

I'm also using Avast but I think my awake pattern fairly falls in line with the screen on pattern. Twice out of the 2 months I've owned my nexus the battery has drained really fast - normally I will get about 28 hours. Any ideas?
Alright so I can't seem to get decent battery life on this thing (I just got it last Thursday). I tried paranoid android but that was pretty bad, as I sort of expected. So now I'm on AOKP with Franco's kernel (someone recommended it) but it really isn't much better... here are some screenshots. Any suggestions anyone? On a side note I flashed the hybrid 3 radios and I'm on verizon with LTE disabled, gps disabled, and wifi turned off.
Try Gummy rom with air kernel. It gives me 16 to 18hrs under medium usage. Other roms managed only 12 for me.

Two hours seems pretty typical. To get much more than that, you'll have to do some extreme tweaking. I use the OEM extended and I only get like 3 hours with medium usage. Heavy usage around 2.

Well, I'm also using AOKP M5 with Franco Kernel M4. And I used to have around 20-22Hrs of bettery, with 10% left of course, and 2.5-3 Hrs of screen time.
All I have done is to set Franco Power Mode to "Power Save" in Franco.kernel Updater App and I've set "Maximum frequency of screen off" to 384MHz. All the rest is untouched. I recommend to try this tweaks as they work good for me!!

Likely the task killer, but I agree with you.
I turned off my LED notifications, CM9/25 with the latest Experimental Trinity. Max 1190 Min 307 undervolt by 20. Ondemand/deadline. Screen off animation/off. Window animation scale/ Animation off.
On screen 2.25-2.5 hours and it dramatically improved the off screen consumption which has been a big problem for me. I changed the battery out last night at 11:30 and was at 93% at 7AM this morning. I have 3 exchange and 3 Gmail accounts and get mail quite frequently. That's my 2 cents.
Hi,
I got a new battery for my GS3. There is a lot of conflicting info out there. Do I first charge it right away before using the phone or do I use it until it dies and then charge it?
Thanks
I always thought it was a myth until I tried it out. My sister's phone had the same things as mine all stock and widgets are the same. I drained my battery right away while she kept her battery full. The result? Hers averaged 4 hours screen on while mine is 2 hours

The let it die first then start charging is a myth... just research it, there are numerous sites claiming the results will diminish and kill Li-Ion batteries faster. Just use it as normal.
How does she get 4 hours of screen time. What is she doing during that time? I can barely get 2 hours but that includes about 2 hours of talk time. Does my usage sound normal or on the low side? Based on what I read here on xda I was expecting better battery life.
We would need more info on your use and what not, after a full days use post screen shots of your use time awake time and call time. We also need to know if you're stock rom and what your signal is like.
My signal is always full bars 4g. I am 100 percent stock. For example right now I have 37% left after 11 hours of uptime. This includes 1 hr screen time and 1.5 talk time. I did nothing but talk email and text today. I did about 20 emails and 150 texts. Is this on the low side? This is why I had t-mobile send me a new battery and am considering trying it.

I would call that kinda normal, I don't talk on the phone for more then 25 minutes per day, and send about the same amount of text and data massages (whatsapp and gtalk) few emails, I average about 3.5-4 hours through out the day... If I were to talk on the phone I'm guessing I'd be getting around the same as you, and I have a spare battery that gets about the same performance.
What percent are u left with by the end of the day once u get the 3.5-4 hours? Now I'm wondering if I'm being paranoid. And if there's a point of trying a new battery if u think my usage is somewhat normal.
On average while stock I'd say 20ish percent... no on non stock roms I play with my phone more and use more battery haha... that's up to you I've seen reports in between both of ours from 7 hours of on screen time to people with barely 2 on screen time. Everyone uses their phone differently.

You folks sure have a different expectation than I do. Every tablet I have owned had to be charged every day or two. Only my Sony ereader would go two weeks between, and that is a CMOS device.
Good luck getting your hundred days between charges. I would just turn the device off.

recreate your experiment by putting the tablet in airplane mode instead of just turning off wifi. see if there's a difference.
Arrived at work at 9 AM. Left my N7 in my carry bag on in sleep mode. 98% when I last saw it. 8 hours 15 minutes late it's at 98%. Damn good!
My n7 is at 130 hours uptime on this charge cycle, with 7 hours screen time (but almost out of battery). You definitely shouldn't expect to have to charge it every 1-2 days if you are mostly idling.
