Hardware keyboard - Samsung Captivate Glide

Hi, I love my glide and I was wondering if something existed. I also have an iPad 3 and I was wondering if there was anyway to use the glide as a hardware keyboard for the iPad? Anyone ever thought of that?
I was thinking about this.....the only way this could work is if there was some kind of app that would make the glide appear as a bluetooth keyboard, then it would work with anything that excepts a bluetooth keyboard.

Why in the hell would u wanna downgrade andriod to work with apple... that's just wrong on so many lvls...

Maybe with this on a custom rom.

I can't test it with my stock rom, but if you manage to get it working I would be very interested.

Looks interesting....may be exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately there is no Cynagen Mod for the Glide yet. Looks like it needs that specific rom to work.

HTC Apps on CM

I feel like I should know this but for some reason I don't think I do.
Anyhow, just flashed the latest build of CM and I miss the HTC Dialer, keyboard and Messaging app like crazy. Is it possible to just install them without the world ending? Also, does anyone have the apk's for these?
Thanks for any insight.

I searched for an answer to this (I only want the dialer) and found that no one has been successful at parting sense out. It is an all or none type deal. Sucks for me and sucks for you. If anyone knows a comparable dialer with that smart dial thing, give me a heads up. Thanks

Most of those apps need Sense to run. I tried installing the stock keyboard and just got force closes. I'm a big fan of Sense, but I'll make the sacrifice for CM. Hopefully when the full release comes out the devs will be able to incorporate some of those apps into CM.

Thanks for the info guys!
I think a Sense ROM will come using CMs work. CM just doesn't do it because it belongs to HTC. I think maybe s3vo is using CM stuff if not someone else will. I was trying to do it myself I'm just missing something. I'm fairly confident that I will figure it out eventually. Most likely though someone with more knowledge will output one long before I figure it out.

Figured it out: voice search is not available in the Canadian market....I just googled the apk
Damn. I love this. Craps all over swiftkey beta. It was my preferred input before I tried HTC. Thanks for heads up.

I tried HTC_IME (not sure whether it was this same one) earlier, and I don't really get the charm. Is it just the languages supported? It's not multi-touch I believe and I missed a lot of letter due to that, especially space. I am currently using the Droid X Multi-touch and it's faster than everything else (and I've tried almost all). The thing is that I can type fast enough on this not to need prediction, I only use that for spelling correctione etc.
Been using this for awhile to skin my own HTC IME, first on my Milestone, then on my Galaxy.
i love you guys :-D.thx a lot for this!
Google gimpsta as he has an online kitchen for customising HTC ime keyboards.

Always heard good things about the HTC keyboard and after installing this i can see why.
anyone know how to enable the on screen dpad, or is there one even available on the HTC keyboard?
Can anyone tell me how to remove this completely? I uninstalled from applications, but does that remove Clicker.apk too? I can't find it in /system/app either
can't install
i can install the click apk but not the htc ime apk, what program you guys use to install, it tells me through Astra that file can't be read as an apk.

MHL on AOSP

Since the dev's are busy getting AOSP free of bugs and running better for our device I want to look into getting the MHL adapter working with full HDMI mirroring going. Anyone that has any knowledge of how this is implemented in the stock rom let us know so we can get this working. Since it seems that the AOSP ROMS are using stock, all be slightly modified, kernels Im assuming everything is still there for the hardware to work. So now its a software issue. I remember tearing apart a stock rom and seeing an apk name tvout or something like that. So Im going to give it a try on aokp a to get this working. if anyone has any input please help out because Im starting this without any knowledge of how the implantation works for stock roms. Hopefully we dont have to re write then entire driver like Team Win did with the Evo.
Im really missing this on cm9a3, that and the fact I cant keep the cap button's lights off.

T999 localization

I've recently installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1874063 firmware on my T999. Can I by any chance have localized (russian) version of this? And if no, what firmware should I choose in order to get fully localized system? I would especially appreciate those, which are visually close to stock one.
This is nothing but a complete guess, but you may have to look at possible ports of the international GS3. Maybe they have one on the att forum that'd be compatible?
Or maybe find an international rom and use parts of it to achieve what your after.
Sorry I cant give you anything solid. I just dont have any experience with that. Just thought id throw some ideas out since no one else has yet.

Thank you for your advice.
But unfortunately, I have found nothing so far, all roms I have tried either don't have russian language built in or that TouchWiz interface. So I'm wondering now, if I can use rom like SM10 and have latest TouchWiz installed for it. Can someone provide any information on this?

[Q] Samsung Multimedia Dock and Custom Roms

Hey y'all!
I've been scrooching xda forums throroughly, and there is very little discussion about the multimedia dock. (Which is going to be awesome, when someone here gets Ubuntu fully functional on the phone!)
Anyways, here is my problem. I am currently running ProBam 4.22, and it has no idea what to do when I connect it to the multimedia dock. Nothing happens, no HDMI output, no keyboard or mouse support.
The thing is, I don't even know if any custom roms actually support the bloody thing.
Is there any application, tweak or similiar that could be installed/flashed so that the multimedia dock would be supported?
I got so frustrated that I even tried flashing the stock rom back. Which didn't work out. Ubuntu on my computer, can't find proper tar.gz stock version to be used with Heimdall. (The thing keeps complaining something about Heimdall packages shouldn't include any links or directiories... I packed it myself and put none of that stuff there, what gives?) So, not going back to Stock, unless I install Windows. Which I hate.
Any idea on the matter?
Thanks in advance!
Really? No responses
Well, it would be quite awesome if someone would be able to add smart dock support to a custom rom.
I bought the thing for nothing, it seems :S
I would also like to know that!
I've had one N7100 and now I have a I9505.
I intend to buy a Smart Dock to use with the S4. I use the PAC-man ROM.
No one knows exactly if it works?
