[Q] H1x in bootloop can't access sdcard. - HTC One X

Ok guys, Bit of a problem here... I'm stuck in a boot loop after trying to flash the android revolution boot.img, now i've tried to restore to a backup, but it still sticks in the bootloop. I've tried to flash via fastboot with "fastboot flash update Android_Revolution_HD-One_X_4.0.0.LITE.zip" but im getting this error "c:\android2\platform-tools>fastboot flash update Android_Revolution_HD-One_X_4.0
.0.LITE.zip
sending 'update' (347972 KB)... OKAY
writing 'update'... FAILED (remote: not allowed)"
Any help?

After flashing boot.img, it's always a good idea to fastboot erase cache, or go to recovery, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache. Then you will have no problem booting.

Current clockworkmod recovery doesn't support USB mounting so you cannot push any file when you're in recovery.
What's your situation now? You can go to recovery right?
Revert back to your nandroid and flash also the corresponding boot.img. Then erase cache as I mentioned before.

Whenever I try to restore my backup i get stuck in the bootloop.
What about pushing files to the sd through adb?
I've tried adb shell mount /sdcard but its coming back with no devices found.
I've got all the drivers installed but still nothing

Pushing files to sdcard on the current recovery doesn't allow it from what I know. You could do: flash stock recovery, then lock, run RUU for your device. You can unlock again after that. Of course do those things as a last resort. Visit dev section first, a couple of thread there deals with this kind of issue.

[Solved] Stuck in CWM Recovery

During installation of ARHD Rom I suddenly got caught up in CWM Recovery mode. I have now tried to wipe system and everything and do a "restore" of my NANDROID backup without success. My question then is; how the hell can I push a ROM to my phone with the phone only in CWM Recovery??? I'm kind'a desparate!!!
Can also mention I'm on a Mac!
Hope someone has the answer!

Try restoring your nandroid backup, just remember to flash the boot.img
Sent from my fauxed HOX running ARHD 8.0.0
Did you flash recovery to the boot partition? (fastboot flash boot recovery.img)That could explain why it only boots to recovery. Try flashing recovery again (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.) then the boot.IMG (fastboot flash boot boot.IMG )then the Rom.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I've already tried that, I've even tried going to advanced restore -> boot -> restore boot without success..
BTW; I've now managed to push a new ROM onto my phone, installed it but still it won't but other than to recovery!!!

Seems like it did the trick rayford85.. Nice to see the bootanimation on my HOX again! Stupid step to forget (flashing the boot.img) LoL! Thank you rayford85!
Reusing this post to another dumb question... Everytime I reboot my phone it seems like the boot.img disappears because I have to ./fastboot-mac boot boot.img for every reboot of my phone!
Any good ideas of how to solve this?

Stock recovery fault after RUU upgrade

Hi,
I am new to this forum, so to me it is not allowed to reply to this thread:
[TUT] How to upgrade HOX with a RUU(hboot.img, etc..) after installed a custom rom
I flashed boot.img, and recovery.img from the extracted rom.zip of the newest RUU (RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.17.401.2_Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_274900_signed.exe) in order to get back to stock. -> wifi fault
After flashing i erease cache and relocked the oem.
I tried to test everything, before getting the device back to the seller.
And now here is the problem.
I'm not able to get into recovery from bootloader (because this is what the repair service is doing first). The recovery tool starts with a mobile sign and a green circle and turns to a mobile sign with a red exclamation mark and then the device reboots to system.
I tried to run RUU a second time and i tried to re-unlock the bootloader and flash the boot.img and recovery.img a second time. I left the bootloader unlocked, but the fault is the same. I even tried to extract the recovery.img from rom.zip and flash again. Nothing works.
Anyone with the same problem? Anyone with an solution? (searched the forum, but does'nt find a situable thread)
Sorry for pushing...
I've found another thread with the same problem.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1621124&highlight=cant+boot+recovery
Meanwhile i flashed a costum recovery. This works. I made a fullwipe and flash everything again and install the RUU again.
Same Problem.
I tried to downgrade the recovery to 1.29; .1.28; 1.26. But every stock recovery wont boot.
Still no idea?

Try applying the same version RUU before you unlocked. If you can get that working, then you can upgrade to the latest.

I actually used the latest RUU.
With RUU 2.17 cames hboot 1.12. Because of S-On I can't downgrade using a older RUU, as long downgrading hboot is not possible.
I think it is a problem of the hboot version, like it is checking wether the device is unlocked or a costum rom was flashed (so it is easy for the repair service to say there is no warranty).
Ironically a costum recovery works. and also its possible to flash costum roms.
Flash recovery from here..maybe the ruu download was corrupted..

OK. I downloaded the RUU 2.17 from another source. MD5 is the same. extracted the recovery.img and flash again. didn't work.
Installed the RUU again. nothing.
I tried a lot of recovery.img including this one from your link. I don't know why the stock recovery tools wont work.
Every costum recovery will work. but why?
I started testing to flashboot boot every recovery.img. now here is some interesting:
fastboot boot recovery_signed_1.28.img
creating boot image...
creating boot image - 5933056 bytes
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 0.793s]

Using costum recovery no problem. Using stock recovery will cause this error.
The partition should be OK, because the costum recovery works.

yes i know...
i said i tried to fastboot boot other recovery to test where the issue is. and those which are booting with fastboot boot, are also flashable and working.
I don't know whats the issue.
Thanks for the help.
I will send the device to repair center with a costum recovery. let's see what happens.
Or I'll just solder it.

[Q] Bootloop after root attempt

Hi guys, really hope someone can help!
I've looked in this forum and tried everything but nothing seems to work. So this happened:
I have HTC One X Three Network UK, RUU version 3.14.771.34
I went from stock to unlock the bootloader via HTCDEV, that was no problem. Then I downloaded that insecure root file from this site to try and root it. That sent my HTC into a bootloop, it will not boot, jus sits at the HTC logo.
I've relocked the bootloader in prep for an RUU, but I cannot find a THREE UK RUU thats 3.14.771, only version that are 1,29.771.xx and those will NOT flash, I have tried but the windows prog comes up with an incorrect rom error message.
I have also tried extracting the boot_signed.img from that RUU and doing it manually via fastboot, still no luck. It copies it over, but then says FAILED (remote: not allowed).
So what can I do now? I can still get into fastboot and exectue fastboot commands. Also Hboot of course. But what am I to flash????
seems like your bootloader isn't unlocked

That's right, I relocked it! I had it unlocked and even put CWM on it but flashing custom ROMS from CWM didn't solve the bootloop so I followed the instruction on the websites to relock the bootloader and use RUU! But no RUU version is high enough for me to flash! What the **** do I do? This is crazy!
Download an ICS custom rom and flash it through CWM.

Did that already. Didn't work, still kept bootlooping. And now that I have relocked the bootloader there's no way for me to get CWM back.
I would try and unlock the bootloader again and flash philz touch recovery and try to flash a custom Rom again, if you really want back to stock go to fastboot
Fastboot getvar version-main and post the outcome

Unlock the bootloader, flash the custom recovery and download this nandroid backup

Restore it and AFTER that you flash this stock recovery
http://db.tt/pO3jumMa
Then you are able to update when one comes out !
As stated above, you can't do nothing with the bootloader locked.

Hi, thanks for the tip, I have now UNLOCKED the bootloader again and put CWM 5.8.4.0 back on!
When i do GetVar version-main I get this:
E:\android\android>fastboot getvar version-main
version-main: 3.14.771.34
finished. total time: 0.008s
It is three UK, I have tried to search google for that RUU but only versions lower than 3.14.xxx exist and those will not flash, even with extracting the signed_rom.img from the RUU.exe
I will try to restore once again the nadroid backup and see if it will let me boot but I am not hopefull
Ok, my progress has been abysmal!
I've done all of the steps above:
I have reinstalled CWM and then restored the nandroid of 3.14 using CWM as set out above, then flashed the stock recovery using fastboot. Upon boot it still won't boot into android, just stuck on HTC logo!
WHAT TO DO???
Flash the boot.img from the nandroid backup folder !!!
And also :
Factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Advanced-wipe dalvik cache
Mounts & storage-format cache,data,system
Then restore the nandroid and boot it up !
And lock bootloader i think

Well if you want to go completely stock then yes but if not then just leave it unlocked

YEEES! Thank you soo much! Flashing the boot.img did the trick, my phone boots again into android! I had done a complete nandroid restore through CWM using the nandroid backup file you recommended, but that was before I flashed boot.img and it didn't help. I assumed that because boot.img was within that nandroid backup folder the CWM restore option would automatically do everything, but it clearly didn't.
Thanks again! Mr. Hofs, YOU ARE AWSOME!
Thank you for the kind words

[FIRMWARE] How to flash firmware for JB Roms

This is for updating your firmware to be able to run JB roms. From my testing ICS firmware will not boot the JB Roms.
Download
Reboot device into bootloader
Issue command - fastboot oem rebootRUU
Then fastboot flash zip JB_Firmware.zip
It might error out. Do NOT reboot. This is normal. Just run the flash command again.
When flashing is done issue command fastboot reboot.
You will need to reflash whatever recovery you were using also.
Now you can flash whatever JB Rom you wish

Even the official HTC JB update cannot recognize my phone to recover it. It keeps saying signature failed.

To update to the latest jellybean firmware on the HTC One VX..... YOU NEED A COMPUTER
1. Make sure device is htcdev unlocked... If not go here htcdev.com
2. You have root.
3. Make sure you have SuperCID - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2161402
4. Make sure you s-off your device with moonshine http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2396838 or FacePalm http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2161425
If you have all that now proceed to step 5
5. Download Jellbean Firmware -*http://www.androidfiles.org/getdownload.php?file=TotemC2/Firmware/JB_Firmware.zip
6. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ADB AND FASTBOOT CAPABILITIES ON A PC AND KNOWLEDGE WITH THEM. And place jellbean Firmware.zip in the adb and fastboot folder.. and rename .zip to " jb.zip "
7. Reboot device into fast boot by powering down the device and holding volume-down and power
8. Once in fastboot and computer detects the device... And the device says "Fastboot Usb" in the bootloader.
9. Excute command via*cmd or terminal ( depending on OS you use )*
Code:
" fastboot oem rebootRUU "
10.* execute command
Code:
" fastboot flash zip jb.zip "
And then wait till it's done... Once done execute command
Code:
" fastboot reboot-bootloader "
Now you'll be on the latest firmware

This rom is for evita/htc one xl. You need to use an endeavoru/htc one x rom
Sent from my One X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
it works!!!!
So it really works!! After i tried to install this version for One X xl (i do have also try with same endeavoru version) and waiting for at least 30 min with the HTC screen, i decided to try the backup again. So back to recovery and give a shot. And it works!!! I assume that because this backup was made before i had install the Cyanogenmod it need the SENSE to work again. I thought that the backup was from the cyanogenmod but it was from time before it. So now i have it restored to rev.hd rom. Lot to learn about this world, lot of mistakes to make an try to fix them.... but when you finally get it right (with very good advice from good people) it's rewarding feeling.
Thanks everyone, lets try not to make that error again.:good:
When you get to bootloader check if it says evita or endeavoru

yes
Yes it do say that it is Endeavoru. I think that the real problem was that i did not flash the boot.img right. probably the .img file was different that the one i got. (10.2.0) Since the update came true OTA of Cyanogenmode (did i understand it right?) I should have flash the new boot.img from the 10.2.1 zip file via fastboot to get this work. I just assume...

Yes if the update have kernel change you must to flash every time boot.img from the update archive or rom archive we don't have S-OFF. But have one way to do this Check in Original section for Kernel Lighter it give the chance to flash boot.img via recovery and Aroma file manager but read all before try something
