I am having problems trying to setup my wallpapers on my kindle fire.
It is at the moment a little weird.
This is what hapening:
1. I try to setup a wallpaper. Pick Rootexplorer, choose the file and the wallpaper does not change, but i am redirected to the home screen of my launcher
2. Same as above, but, i am not redirected to the homescreen, instead, i am prompted again to pick a app to choose the file again (eg: Galery, Rootexplorer or QuickOffice ), and after i pick the file again, i am prompted again for choosing an app ( endless loop)
3. Sometimes, after i pick a wallpaper it finally changes, but not to the one i just picked, it picks a wallpaper that i tried to set like 10 "tries" in the past. (DAFUQ)
4. Sometimes, the wallpaper changes, but its rare, very rare.
Considerations:
1. Yes, i have set the permissions correctly allowing me to write the wallpapers file
2. Stock Rom, rooted, 6.3
3. The resolutions of the wallpapers are not the same, i have tried different resolutions and none of them are working 100% of the time.
Any help ?
Thanks!

Come on!
I just use this app to change my wallpaper:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS53YWxsLmNoYW5nZXIiXQ..
Didn't bother doing the permissions or whatever I needed to do to change it. With that app you can use any res you want as long as it is at least 600x1024. I only have a single home screen so 600x1024 images are perfect for me.
I'm using 3000x3000+ resolution wallpapers but on CM7, but can't install any wallpaper on stock rom.
I will try that out.
Thanks
EDIT: Still Not working.
I can only see a black wallpaper with a fire icon.
1. Enabled it
2. Pick Single Wallpaper from "Downloads" folder located at my "SDCARD".
What am i doing wrong?
I use this app:

Hi,
I was using one ROM for a while, and just switched. I want to take the wallpaper with me though. But I can't figure out how to do it. I copied the images to the system\customize\resource folder, but when I go to HTC wallpapers, I do not see it. Any hints?
Thanks
You can just take the image and search for it on gallery then set it from there.

Ok. I see the picture. Gallery isn't the funnest way to find it. But when I select it, it makes me select a region of the picture to display. On the old ROM, it was just a wallpaper. I didnt' have to select a region, and the entire image displayed.
I've tried a half dozen wallpaper changers already and can't find one with the simple features I want.
1. chooses wallpaper from a folder
2. displays them randomly (can be every time I unlock or after a time limit)
"WallChanger" comes close, but the order is not random, it keeps showing the first few files in the folder.
Every other app either doesn't work with KF, doesn't override lock screen wallpaper, or crashes outright. I'm not really willing to flash a new rom and I'm content with Go Launcher (which has its own wallpaper system but it doesn't play well with KF). So does someone have a simple APK that can handle this?
hello guys, i did own a iphone but had so many problems so sold it and bought the htc one x while i love it and me being a first time android user i have a few questions please needing answered...ok here we go
1, the home screen wallpaper what size do i need to make one for just to have the middle home screen? so it will stay static across all homescreen's without scroll? what dimension's?
2, how do install ringtones, music , pictures as i'm on a macbook, can i just plug it into the usb to computer and drag and drop?
3, can i alter my default icons to different ones like the phone , sms icons etc...to custom ones i'm running stock everything as its brand new out the box yesterday and would like to keep it that way if possible...? is it possible?
4, how do i delete app's off the phone i no longer want?
5, i saw a app UCCW custom clock maker how can i install one's from here people have posted zip file for where do the files go? and can i use them running stock firmware etc out of the box?
1. 1280x720...someone please correct me if I'm wrong
2. I usually connect my phone and then open my phone's drive and extract my music files into the "dcim" folder. However you can also just use a program like windows media player or winamp or whatever else program and it should do the transferring part for you. Same with images, I put them in the dcim folder.
If you want to set a song or tune as your ring tone simply open your music app, touch and hold the song/tune you'd like to usw until an option menu extends. Option should be there, simply follow it
3. Yes, you can. However changing icons might only seem possible without rooting your phone if you use an external launcher. Try searching for "go launcher" in the play store. Or use "nova launcher".. note that you won't be able to use sense widgets on external launchers.

4. Open your app drawer, click and touch an app you would like to uninstall. The.background will turn to your home screen and the top right corner should be highlighted "uninstall". Simply drag your all over.
5. That is something someone else would have to answer, but they would be doing me a favor as well, haha! Good luck with your one x. Welcome on board
shadehh has replied most of your questions but I could add in .
4 . You can go to Setting > Apps and click on the apps you want to uninstall too . You can also download Easy Uninstaller from Play Store to have a more easy uninstalling experience .
5 . In android , we use a file type ".apk" to install stuff such as Window's ".exe" to install stuff and so on . So maybe the zip file of the app you mentioned consist the apk file in the zip and yes you can use them running stock firmware etc out of the box .
You can create a folder called "Ringtones" on the root directory of your sdcard and put whatever mp3 you want to use as your ringtone in it. This mp3 can then be selected from settings -> personalize -> sound -> ringtones.
The same goes for alarms and notifications. Just create folders called "Alarms" and "Notifications" on the root directory of your sdcard and they will be selectable in the personalization settings.

thanks for the help very much appreciated :good:
Hi:
Google changed the folder to accommodate multiple users. If you're using MultiPicture Live for wallpaper for your screens, the common settings for Picture Folder no longer point to the same location. You'll need to switch to Album, deselect any folders you weren't using and hit ok. Then you can switch back to Picture Folder, you'll find the path cleared and you can navigate back to the correct location.

Can anyone please help me with this issue? I set up a wicked Hubs UI and its just not the same without the multi wallpapers. If not does anyone know another app that works the same way that does not have issues with 4.2.1?

He is saying your old saved location is broken in the live wallpaper app and to fix it for each wallpaper you have select any album you have in you gallery and save it for each. Then go back and reselect your picture folder that you had previous to 4.2.1 and you'll be back to normal.
This is due to Google introducing virtual sdcards and the live wallpaper app not be updated to support this.

Thanks but I have a nexus 7 and it is not keeping the settings. That's why I asked specifically for step by step instructions. I use nova launcher paid version and I have seven screens. I have a folder with about ten pics for each screen. For example my leftmost first screen is Tools. The folder with the pics for it is called Tools WP. Also for the nexus seven should I be using a workaround for some home settings in the advanced settings and if so, which one?
I switched to ssLauncher, no need for MPL; set whatever pictures per screen and different ones for landscape if you want, and they all stick.
Hi:
@THEBIGWET: Sorry to be so tardy but I was out of town for the holidays. You'll find step-by-step instructions here:

There may be conflicts between Nova Launcher and MultiPicture Live I recall trying Nova and having problems with MultiPicture Live. I could be wrong.
Best,
Tom
I recently installed google play store and started installing apps and noticed the icons in the fire phone carousel aren't high quality. I read about using APK Icon Editor and tried using it to repack apk's with a higher resolution icon but for one the device selection doesn't even list the fire phone and 2nd i tried repacking apk's a few times by clicking on different icons sizes like 624X624 and installed but still the icon is blurry. I have even re-sized the icon in the program and tried that way and when installed still doesn't work. Does anyone know of a way to do this on the fire phone so Google apps look like they belong on the phone?
I second this request.
blurry icons
Those blurry icons are driving me nuts!! I have playing around with apk icon editor and have been able to get youtube and the playstore to display a high quality icon but now they crash when I try to open them. I chose All Models under the device menu and then the xhdpi (624x624). All the rest don't do anything to the icon in the carousel. It's a start!
That's better than nothing. I'm going to try that too
i hate the low res icons
amazon dev sucks
Have you tried this method?:

I definitely haven't. Interesting. I'm going to try it out. Did you do this and it worked?
No I haven't, but seems to make sense and should work as far as I can tell
