Why don't you ask on the dhd forum, this has nothing to do with one x really. My old desire classic cable is working fine for me for data transfer.

So you mean what was damaged?:
1. USB Cable
2. USB Charger (to put usb in)
3. USB Port in DHD
?
Thx!
He is talking about the port in your dhd, just try to clean and it should be gone.

You need to buy a MHL adapter. It's less than five dollars on ebay.

If you do indeed have an mhl adaptor already and it's not working then double check the hdmi cable your plugging into it is good. I was pulling my hair out trying to get mine to work, even tired different roms. Turned out it didn't like the hdmi cable I was using (which did work on other equipment weirdly). On viper for info and working well.

I have a 1.4 HDMI 3 meters cable that doesn't work, while 1.3 smaller cables work. Might be because of that.
MHL adapter is a good option.

[Q] HTC One m8, super speed usb question.

When I connect my HTC One M8 to my laptop with the usb cable thats usually in the charger, my laptop says that it could run faster with a 3.0 cable at super speed.
How do I get such one? All the cables I've seen are of a different port type with like 2 things at the end of the cable.
Not possible. HTC M8 is USB 2.0 compliant and does not have a USB 3.0 port. What is happening is your computer is detecting a USB 2.0 connection on its own USB 3.0 port and just informing u that it "could" go faster if u are using a USB 3.0 compliant device connected to computer but choosing to use USB 2.0 cable. But since HTC one is only 2.0 it won't be able to do it.
