??? I've used hancent since my first Android. The only time it "hogs ram" is if I use the popup notifications. Turn that off and it doesn't use any ram at all for me unless I actually "open" the app.

I'm telling you, disable popup notifications and/or reminders or any scheduled tasks and it doesn't even stay running. Only saying this so maybe you can enjoy it like the rest of us without it hogging up all your ram.

It be nice to get a ics theme for mms i also like the orginal mms apk since its uses almost nothing for resources and im not a big fan of the other ones for the same reason as the poster so if some one could do a theme id be willing to donate a bit. I use the ics 3d mint cm7 theme

As you found out the stock mms.apk borks on wifi and large messages. Until that is fixed (if it ever is) what's the point? I spend a lot of time on wifi and would have to make sure to never send large messages. GoSMS has the ability to make your own theme.

I don't think you can download stock email from the market, I tried using titanium but that also did not work
Did you recently change roms? Specifically one that had a 5 icon dock and now you have 4? It's a long shot, but go edit your dock, pull any 1 icon out which will leave you with 3. Save that and exit. If it was hiding back there once you go back to home screen it will be there. You can then edit your dock to your liking

I have 4 problems with CM9 alpha 4.
1.I can't move/organize any of my apps around in the app drawer.
2.I can't setup up the face unlock, I tried but it just doesn't work
3. Every time I download a new app it makes a shortcut on the home screen.
4.The clock app always force closes.

1. Get a different launcher, google nova launcher I think it has that ability.
2. You need to be in a clear place with plenty of light for facelock to configure and needs to be there for a good amount of time.
3. Go into the market go into settings and uncheck auto add widgets.

Thank you so much, but I already tested Nova Launcher, and I still cant edit my apps in the drawer.
It also helps to read the CM9 threads like the Tip Sharing thread in General if you don't want to wade through all the posts in the Development thread. The market tip was one of the first ones posted.

golauncher ex will allow you to organize and even hide apps. it will use a little more battery to also have it running, but its worth it IMO

Yes sir! That did the trick my kind lad! Works rather well. Thank you.
Watch marcusent come in here and call me animal names.
I just flashed RC3 for CM7.2. Usually when I flash new ROMs, all of my downloaded apps automatically download in Google Play Store, but this time they didn't.
Anyone know why? Is there a way to manually initiate this if auto doesn't work?
Have you considered using Titanium Backup instead? Free or paid, its waaaaaaaaaaaay more reliable than Google Restore.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. It depends on the ROM.

A little off topic, but related - how do you disable Google restore? Annoys the hell out of me when it starts downloading apps I already have backed up.

You do that when you are setting up the device after a clean flash. It will ask you if you want to use Google Backup and Restore. Just uncheck the box. I'm not sure if it can be turned off after this point.

It doesn't ask me, it just starts installing apps when I boot the phone. Only happens with some ROMs though.
Edit: Are you talking about the setup process? If there's an option there, I may have missed it.

Can u save that batch for every time use
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
U just select what u want to delete in the check boxes and then click start and it uninstalls them takes about 30secs tto check em off and a few mins tto run if its alot of apps. I usually debloat one at a time in tibu tho so I can backup the few I may want later before deleting, or sometimes ill just backup all the system apps in batch then do a batch uninstall

Lmao u guys crack me up . I remove some stuff from aosp/cm based roms that I don't use but mostly just stuff that actively runs in the background like tvout or other things that like to autostart. I only do it cuz if i don't use it I don't see a point in wasting ram/CPU and battery on it just chilling in the background for no good reason. But that list is mostly stuff alot of ppl use, or is required for full functionality

You can delete them from the zip with 7zip or a comparable program before installing, but like everyone is saying, there's not much benefit

Wonder when they changed it whenever I removed talk back in the day it would always break my Google accounts. Google must have done some changes in one of the more recent updates to talk which allows the accounts and sync to work without it.

On my evo everytime I would remove it I would get Google account sign in errors and the market would force close. I bet they changed it sometime around when market became play store, or maybe HTC set it up as a dependency in the framework. I don't remember if I ever tried removing it on CM but tried a few times on sense roms only to have to restore a namdroid >_<
