[Q] The google log on the back cover - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Is there anyone who's "google" logo on the back cover is wearing of increadibly fast? I mean I've had my Gnex for what, like 2-3 months now and already the color of the google logo is gone and so is the samsung logo, I can only see it when looking really closely on the back cover...
Is there a way to easily, I don't know, maybe apply some white color to it or something?

I use mine without a case and both logos are still there (and in color). Before you start "repairing" yours I suggest you get a new one off ebay since they're < 10€.

I got mine in a soft "pouch" and those on ebay aren't OEM, right? if I replace the cover then I'd want it to be an google original or then one of those laser-etched XDA cover (whitch are OEM) .... xda should start selling them instead of having to win one but that would take away some of that "exclusivness" i guess

Galaxy Nexus Housing

I have slight scratches on my nexus I don't know for the life if me how it happened... I want a new phone or new housing, but I'm afraid that the housing isn't OEM. The repair is easy, but the parts have to be OEM.
Go to eBay and search for "Galaxy Nexus Housing" and you'll get a bunch of different results from different sellers, and they all hover around $43 for the kit (titanium housing and battery door). And about $16 for just the door.
I've already taken the leap about a month ago and picked up what I thought was OEM housing just in case, but upon very very close inspection and looking at where the battery doors connect, different manufacturing markings, and where the plastic was put together, I've decided that its not OEM.
Therefore, I'd like all of your opinions. Please and thank you.

These people sell oem housings, but I don't see any for the GS yet, just a dummy phone.

ugh, just got my galaxy nexus yesterday and put a case on immediately (the verizon rep that was porting/activating my phone put it on). today, i took off the case and noticed three hairline scratches! what the heck? there's one on the top right of the phone where it curves, one on the top left of the phone where it curves and one from the oower button to the battery door. so very strange....

it could just be the plastic molding, its fairly cheap.

Guys, the hairline "scratches" on the corners of the phone are not scratches. They are where the plastic housing was molded. Every Galaxy Nexus has these. Even the demo model at the VZW store had them.
Does it invalidate the warranty, fitting a new housing? I can't see any warranty stickers that appear to need breaking to undo the screws?

it's common sense that this will void the warranty if it's done by someone other than a authorized repair service center, whether they will noticed it's done by you is another situation.

Galaxy Nexus Black?

Do we have a list of the confirmed colours for this phone?
I have it in Titanium Silver and I've seen it in White however, I've seen a few housing replacements claiming to be black with photos.
Has anyone actually got a black Nexus?
EDIT:
This is a link to the supposed black housing - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Housing-B...uches&var=&hash=item746d6c37d3#ht_7818wt_1165

I'm pretty sure despite the photo, that's just for the battery door (see title), as for just the back cover, battery door, they come in a bunch of different colors (3rd party, NOT Samsung product most likely).
I believe they sell the battery door and the housing separately and together, since that is what's shown
Now a quick google search yields a few results of black galaxy nexus' but with no photographic proof, so this seems rather odd to me.
An all black nexus is what i've been talking bout forever. Would look much nicer than titanium IMO and I can just picture it in my head.
I found this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Origina...ccessories&hash=item27c549811c#ht_5612wt_1378
But looking at the pictures, I don't see any difference besides them looking like they photoshopped it a bit, smudging the Google and Samsung logo on the battery cover.
Maybe contact them for some real pictures?
Nvm only the battery cover is black

Replacement back cover

Hi Guys,
From youtube videos (I know great source of info) it seems that removing back cover on HOX is quite easy.
So two questions come to mind first one no one makes entire back cover replacements in many colours?
Also anyone know where I could get the least original white back cover?
I want to sell my HOX and camera lens is scratched. Does not interfer with pictures due to location of it but still.
Cheers,
Luka
I found a lot of them when looking for a black and white one.

it's not that simple!!
at first you will void your warranty as soon as you detach the cover...then believe me that it's very difficult and you could damage the inner frame or other components, since there's a lot of glue that make you feel the phone very solid in your hands...
but believe me that it's a real pain to change the cover...the most difficult part of opening your phone...
however you should do it just if it's stricly necessary imho...
Nah it's really easy. Takes 10 mins to switch over. There is no glue really. For the most part it is clipped on.
I say go for it. I got my white original cover off ebay for £30.
my camera lens also got little scratched. Is there any chance to replace it only? anyone with the same problem?

Maybe we have different version of One X...
I repaired my touchscreen and my htc was full of glue and sticker anywhere...it was the hardest part for me to detach the cover!
However could you tell me where to buy a black one low cost and new?
Thank you!

i bought one too, replacement is a little difficulty but it looks like new
Thx guys, got one in post from link provided. Now wait till Lumia 920 and htc 8x are available for sale to choose one and sell One X
squeak
My One X has a creaking corner, where the original back cover seems to give in a little. Any guesses if getting a replacement (because the camera lens also has a few scratches) would help? Maybe the fit would be better... or is the creaking problem something related to how the phone itself sits inside the cover, and getting a new back would be pointless?
Has someone experiences with cases from Hong Kong?
They are cheaper and include the SIM Tray...

After putting the whole thing back together, doesn't the phone start creaking, especially at the bottom part?
No
Opened mine 2 times and the bottom fits better than when it came out of the box.
Only opened it to clean the camera lens from inside and always used the same cover it came with.

Great! That's really nice to hear.
Changed mine from black to white... After changing, my phone is more solid then the out-of-the-box black... Wifi reception is better... Needa change it after my friend knocked my hand while crossing the road... Screen is intact and unscathed though...

HOX complete back cover change?

Hi
I have a little problem, I droped my HOX and now it has a little scratch on bottom, you cant even see it, but I know it is there. So did someone ever replaced whole back cover? And another reason for that is that I kinda want white HOX and i have black Can you give me the link where to buy it and is it hard to replace it?

Yep did mine from a shop on eBay - just search.
Took 10 mins to change. It was surprisingly easy. I went from grey to white. Hardest part is remembering to move the speaker circuit.

OEM 3T grey metal cover

Hi guys. Tried to find a similar thread but didn't found.
So the question is:
Has someone purchased a very good quality replacement (OEM or atleast very close to original) metal back for the 3T (the dark grey)?
Don't get me wrong, I know theres plenty of which to choose from. Just wondering if someone has found "the right one" so I don't have to order several different ones while searching good quality item...
So...anyone?
Thanks.

Shortly, just want to change the back cover after certain mount of damage to the current back cover.
Having the Midnight Black version and not using any cases, is a combo that puts the black variant very prone to scratches, cracks, pops or what any sort of damage might happen to the phone. And you can see everything in black, I mean everything. So when the time comes and my black back cover looks like hell, I can swap it to the Gunmetal and have a "new" phone. Ordered already black one, but it got crushed in the mail anf the seller was out of stock after that.
