Hi ..
I have an xperia arc s , I messed up by trying to root it and now I'm having problems with my firmware's original apps, for example I can't read my messages , and other unfortunate things , so what I'm asking is : is there anyway I can flash a stock firmware and can you please link me to it ? , or a way to completely factory reset my firmware and get the apps running again , thanks for your help
Hey there,
Here is .62 and .69 firmware of lt18i (for your arc S):
.62:
Code:
http://www.mediafire.com/?6fs6iry9spv78mb
.69:
Code:
http://hotfile.com/dl/148162875/41a4aae/LT18i_4.0.2.A.0.69_(1254-2550).ftf.html
download which one you like and flash them with flashtools and remember uncheck wipe userdata if you want your data! (sms and etc...)

there shouldn't be any problem. and no, you won't lose your root.

Did you removed some system app's?
no , just used link2sd app to move all app files
i think its may be the problem
Solution
If you have the .42 and you want to get the .62 root you have to do this:
- Flash with flashtools the .42 original room
- With flashtools root your phone.
- Start updating via OTA to .62
If you have 0.42 and you root this with superoneclick or other that not be Flashtools you wouldn't get your .62 root OTA
aaah thanks , i just want to update to .62 so i be ready to receive ICS when available Nothing else :S
but i think i will be wait when availble official to Arc (not Arc S) i will flash it via flash tool
I recomend to you installing ICS version of ARC S and then flashing the Doomlord kernel for setting the correct CPU clock. (only for unlocked bootloaders).
But... well ok, if you want to wait to the official version you can see very good changes from .42 to .62, better battery life, more stability at the system running, etc...
the feedback of arc user says that is was some problem with touch due to different kernel even with arconiume ICS rom
i think i will try unroot we zurg brush (winch i root first) and root again with flash tool )
and try to upgrade from ota
oka
i found link for .42 but its 150 MB unlike the other link which is 250 !!
i found the first link in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330314 topic
and uploaded.to server is suck so i search for another link like hotfile cause i have premiuim there
http://uploaded.to/file/vmfu4czg
http://www.multiupload.nl/X8PNLLNB5M
is hotfile file is right ?

How to root 4.0.4
If you are on 4.0.4 then Just flash the kernel from 4.0.3 firmware and rooot your mobile using DooMLoRD's method to root 4.0.3 (above)
How to flash kernel-
Put 4.0.3 firmware in the firmwares folder and flash it using the following settings
In Exclude choose:
Exclude System
Exclude Baseband
Exclude Fota
When rooted successfully, put the 4.0.4 firmware in firmware's folder and and again flash the kernel from 4.0.4 ( only the kernel) using the same settings shown above
You don't need to flash whole firmware during the process, but just the kernel

Guys can any one plz tel me how do i get back to factory original OS from unlocked bootloader and custom room, i got no idea how to restore back to factory original os, help plz.
Flash the ftf file using flashtool. You need to know which firmware your phone originally had on it.
Sent from my LT18i using Tapatalk 2
need firmware
can you post a link for below firmware
sony ericsson LT18i
SI 1253-9721
well you need to know the orignal os that was installed on the phone by default.
consider this. if your phone came with the dafault firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62 and you install 4.0.2.A.0.42/58 then it will not work on your phone( although it wont get bricked)however, if it came with 4.0.2.A.0.42 then you would be sucess fully able to install gingerbread:- 4.0.2.A.0.42, 4.0.2.A.0.58, 4.0.2.A.0.62
as well as ics :- 4.1.a.0.562, 4.1.b.0.431
you need to download any 1 firmware you like and then flash it using flashtool
the links to firmwares http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22105604
the tutorial of using flashtool http://www.theandroidsoul.com/tutorial-how-to-flash-a-firmware-using-flashtool-on-xperia-arc/
however remember you need to install all the required drivers for flashing a ftf firmware. although this tutorial is old, the method of flashing is more or less the same. best of luck if u need any more help, i will be glad to help you.

What have you done before? Have you tried to install a custom rom? But that's no problem, first you've to reflash the firmware, by doing this:
Download flashtool (can be found in dev section)
Download the firmware .587 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24467321&postcount=1)
Install flashtool
Put the downloaded ftf file into the firmware folder of flashtool (C:\Flashtool\firmwares)
Then start flashtool, click at the flash button, choose the firmware, check "No final verification" and click on Ok
Follow the instructions
If the firmware have been successfully flashed, turn your phone on
Optional: Then you can root it again and install CWM if you want
When you've got a question, just post it :good:
can you please advice how do i update my firmware from .431 to .587?
one post above yours - there is a solution for intall .587

Hi ...
I have Xperia arc s (LT18i) I have rooted it and downloaded rom on it (Xperia Ultimate HD™ 2.0)
and every thing worked perfectly ...
then I installed Font Changer to change system font ..
I tried few fonts .. but when I tried one of them (it always ask to reboot) the phone got stuck at xperia logo ...
I tried few solutions (reinstalling the ROM, wipe dalvik cache, wipe battery stats, Wipe data/factory reset)
and every time I reboot nothing change ..
then I tried to do these things (format /system, format/data, format cache) and then reboot ...
the phone got stuck on sony logo and been unable to run CMW ...
so if any one have a solution I will be so thankful ...
flash stock rom, root, install cwm and install xperia ultimate hd.
Don't install Font Changer

Yes you can use that, but you must flash this kernel after you flash that stock firmware to root.

By the way, you can not root .587 you have to download .562 or like mentioned before just flash 562 kernel, root and then flash back to 587 kernel. But I think easier should be to download .562 firmware and then just root.

The easiest method is with an unlocked boot loader, install 587, flash CWM'd Kernel, flash Root.zip, done.
