Is anyone one on T-Mobile orange getting the H+ icon?

What speeds you getting mate?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium

yeah i get it but mostly get 3g
Mod or Die

Yes I get H on T-Mobile and H on t mobile orange
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium

I get H all the time but I'm right under the Antenna that's supposed supposed to putting out hspa+ plus so I should be getting H+

Hi
Only had my S2 for a few days but its active here in Clacton.
Speeds are around 3222 and 1000 which I think is 1 to 3.2 meg
I must say its much faster than my old N900

480kps on H can't be bad then!
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium

Works fine the other way around too getting H on Orange and Orange T-Mobile

I guess then even though all networks have been quietly rolling out hspa+
the only network where you get proper 3.5g speeds is 3. My friend had his galaxy nexus phone peak at 21mps on 3 network.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium

Have had over 8meg on the local 3 mast, but it still only shows H, not H+.
I think the H+ is something orange put it their ROM, like some Vodafone HTCs used to show 3g+ instead of H.

IIRC it is just graphics in the framework-res file. As to whether they all come with it I don't know. I don't think I've seen mine (unbranded on tmobile) show H, never mind H+. That being said though, I've got it setup to use openzone networks where-ever it can, which turns out is quite often!

I get H, but not H+. I usually get around 3-4mbit down and 2-3mbit up

On 3, with a 3 branded rom so only get H. Haven't checked extensively, but highest speed so far has been 9032kpbs down and 3475kpbs up.
Nearly as fast as my cable broadband down and much faster than anything up.
All this on a truly unlimited internet package which includes tethering

Looking at the replies to the thread I would say that's almost certain that the h+ icon ISN'T a standard, but infact depends on phone manufacturer and Rom

I'm with 3 too. I just did a speed test and I got 7578kpbs down and 3833kbps up. The download isn't as fast as my broadband as I have 100mb but the upload is close as I generally get 5mb - 8mb upload on my broadband.
I also have tethering - useful seeing as last months data usage was 4GB
I have seen the H+ on my wifes GS2 but never seen it on my One X.

I've seen 14mbps Max on three.
What's funny is that technically t mobile can reach these speeds as well but all standard plans are capped at 3.8mbps

I'm in Switzerland Swisscom Provider.
Galaxy S2 with H+ Icon = 10000 Kbits download
HTC One X without H+ Icon 4500 Kbits.
The same Provider, the same place, ...
Cant HOX HSDPA+ ?

No such thing as hsdpa+ its hspa.
We've already concluded that the h+ icon is rom specific. Lots of people including me have had high speeds still only showing h. My top speed is a little over 10meg

t-mobile network upgrade

Hi all, any one else noticed an upgrade in their internet speed? always been stuck on 3g but since I got home tonight I now enjoy 2mbps with hspda not as fast as it could be but definitely an upgrade! I'm based in norwich by the way.

To be honest, my reception for 2G and 3G has drastically improved in the last 2-3 days (T-mobile). I usually had zero bars on both (-107 dBm) at home and very rarely a bar showed up. Now, I'm at -93 to -101 dBm with GPRS and HSPDA, consistently. Mostly the latter (at 2Mbps dl, 0.6Mbps ul, 50ms ping through the Speedtest app).

Nope, but I did change the settings to false ones, tried connecting through those a few times, and then reinserted the proper settings back. Restart phone > disable radio using the HTC Functional Testing app > wait a few mins > re-enable radio using the same app > then reconnect mobile data.

T-Mobile 42Mbps?? Yeah right.

Is anyone pulling higher speeds then 700Kb a second on T-mobile's network? I am in Jacksonville, FL where apparently T-Mobile has recently upgraded the network to 42Mbps. I know that the G2 does not support that top speed, but I figure I should be getting better than 5Mbps when they are advertising 42Mbps.

Its all BS, look @ the G2x the highest anyone got was 12mbps and its a 21mbps device as tmo advertised it. And those are the speeds we should be getting on the G2, not even 12 we should be getting even 10mbps, and the highest I've gotten was 9 and was just once in tampa florida, in NY the highest was 8

If its to good to be true then it probably is.
You're getting better speeds than I am. I normally get around 2-3 or 4 Mbps here in socal. A few weeks ago I was getting speeds of 5-8 Mbps before they turned on the 42Mbps. And I'm on the new Tmo radio too.
Are you guys seriously complaining about something like this. Do you get on your internet service provider because they say you have 20mbs which I can almost guarantee you clock no where near that on a regular basis? The speeds advertised are all theoretical. Basically in the perfect conditions with no other traffic on the network you could attain the advertised speed. Our phones are actually not capable of the new speeds. They are only capable of the original hspa+ speeds that are advertised as 21mbs and lower. The new devices that they have for mifi and what not are the only ones that can use the new 42mbs. Go to any other carrier and you will find the same result. Its called marketing (4g anyone) and it will be around longer then you and I.

I see nothing wrong with this thread. I'm not even close to what the G2 should be capable of.
Average down for me here in Sac, CA is 3.9 Mbps.

To me, it's not complaining, but more observing. Especially when, my case I was getting better speeds a few weeks ago compared to now. I understand that more people on the network means more draw and therefore lower speeds. However, one would assume that if a carrier comes out with better service/speeds that older devices would benefit, even though they obviously aren't built for it. I think what's happening here is the same that's been going on, at least with T-Mobile, for the last few years: They come out with higher speeds and the new stuff can take advantage until they get a heavier load and then it suffers until they update the back-haul.
Besides, even though XDA is a technology forum site, it's the General and Q&A subforums like this that make it so people are allowed to have a conversation like this, of which I'm grateful. It could get pretty boring just being limited to just talking about ROMs.
uhh?
if this thread is cause of LATELY my G2 Speeds just got LOW AS HEK,than I'm in them 'Complaints".
for some reason out of nowhere, my speeds have gotten super low...like EDGE speeds. I have 4g icon/H icon and it still running like its on edge.
Market apps downloads takes up to 30 minutes to finish and it only works good on wi-fi.
I've changed my ROMS,KERNELS, & Radios and still LOW SPEEDS.
This has bin goin' on for about..a week and a half now..
anyone else experiencing massive low speeds?
Thanks.

I will update again when I get home in a few days. (Portland, OR) I have been getting about 9mb/5mb there on a regular basis.
And for those of you who are having really slow 4G speeds, you might be getting throttled by tmobile for too much data usage.

Enable 3G on this phone?

I really just don't understand why T-mobile wouldn't include the ability to connect to 3G as well as H+ with this phone. It just sucks because you literally can't do anything on edge and it's pretty much useless. Is there any possible way to enable 3G and H+ through the APN's or something. (I did search around for this but couldn't find anything) Also it can apparently connect to AT&T 3G so wouldn't that show that it might be able to connect to T-mobile 3G in some way? (unless I'm completely wrong in assuming this lol)

All of tmo's 3g is H , you just can't connect to AT&T's 3g unless you have an AT&T sim card and are unlocked ...
You will just normally get an H instead of it saying 3g, IF you can't get H then you are not in a "Tmobile 3g area" ...
TMO H+ should show as 4g, but that depends on the ROM you are using, I don't remember what stock looked like .... I know mine says H when I am on tmo 3g and 4g when on H+ ...

Actually I believe if you check the ITU standards H+ qualifies for 4g so it can be called 4g , really when it was released 4g did not even qualify as 4g ....
When you are using 4g you will see both data and standby as 4g only when on "3g" will it show "3g" during non-data usage and will show H during data usage ... (or it should , might be different if using a non-stock ROM)
EDIT: 3g/H/4g/H+ , really when it comes down to it the name does not matter, the speed of the network is what matters, they can call it "BubbaSmith" band and I would not care, it is the speed that makes the actual difference ...
and in my "4g" area, TMO currently smokes VZ/AT&T "4g" ..

I have seen those reports as well, but the ones I have seen are always theoretical speeds ...
I know in my area where VZ has LTE, and I have H+ I still get better speeds ...
One of the things, not all CPU's regardless of the radio, have the chipset support to reach the maximum, but ours is one of them that does, as does the Skyrocket ....
Where I actually live I have crappy service , but next time I am town, I will try and remember to save a screen shot of my speeds, last time I was getting in the high 20's without any issues, but I do average around 18 down and 2.5 up ....

Are any of you using the unlocked HTC one x on AT&T in the USA? If so, what kind of speeds are you getting? Did you have to manually set everything up, or did you just pop in your sim card?

It performs fine; same as my i9100. I'm on the data for non-smartphones plan and it picked up the APN settings from the SIM. I had a micro-SIM that was never activated so had my Premier rep activate it and it works fine. I'm in a non-HSPA+ area and get about 2-3MB down. I'd expect to get 7-8MB down in HSPA+ markets as that's what I was seeing in less congested metro areas with the SGS2. MMS works with the stock APN settings which is more than I can say for the SGS2.
I thought 3g WAS hspa+ for at&t wherever they had 3g coverage? And if not, it would go to edge speeds which are very slow.
Basically, shouldn't you be getting 5-10mbps or less than 1mbps (edge) and no where in between?

Huh? Other than true LTE, everything is 3G. EDGE and GRPS (which are 2G) are what get you 1MB down (if you're lucky). HSPA+ is evolved 3G with theoretical tops speeds of 42MBs down. The One X and SGS2 are capable of a max 21MBs down. AT&T and T-Mobile in their infinite wisdom started marketing HSPA+ (evolved 3G) as 4G which now has everyone in the U.S. confused. Not all AT&T markets have had their backhaul upgraded to HSPA+. I'm in one of them.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolved_HSPA
I just ran some tests and I'm consistently getting 3-4Mbps up. The download part of the test isn't working now for some reason, but overall speed has been just fine.

International One X and HSPA+

Can't seem so find any proper information so yeah.
Apparently, based on specs listed on multiple sites, the international One X(Endeavoru) has HSPA+ at 21mbps or something.
However, it would seems that we only have HSDPA on our phones? I only seem to be getting "H" and not "H+". Is this an issue related to my carrier or does the One X actually not have HSPA+?
Can anyone shed some light?
Oops posted this in the wrong section >< sorry all!
International one X is Hspa which has up to 21mbps download and 5.76 upload speed. Hspa+ is I think only available in the USA. Not really sure though on what speed.
Edit: you should have posted this in q and a so many people can answer you

I own an International One X. It indeed supports HSPA+. In the US where its promoted as "4G" (not "4G LTE") I get about 5 Mbps.
In Germany the HSPA+ has up to 42,2 Mbps. My contract gives me up to 21,6 Mbps down and 5,8 Mbps up. In reality I get about 19 Mbps and 5 Mbps. It really depends on the time and location.
Since this beats actual 4G LTE speeds in the US I'm quite happy. If I just could get those 42,2 Mbps.. :silly:
It's supports it but doesn't have a H+ sign use speed test to confirm if your using H+
