AOSP is clean system. It's just how you would remove CM9 and there left only system - Android 4.0
AOKP is like CM9, almost the same, but it is more customizable than CM

I'm not sure what does it mean, but I think it might mean 'unofficial' or it means that rom is built from sources. I don't know. Correct me
In-topic: A KANG project means to take somebody else's work and put it to good use. From the word gank(ed).
Off-Topic: safariking I sent you a PM with the problems in your ROM you might want to fix in V8.
Regards
Can you change themes in AOSP with Theme Chooser? If not, then this ROM will quickly become very boring imo. Tbh, I'm looking forward to AOKP more than anything if CM9 will be abandoned.
I think the ICS theme is just fine, probably why I've stuck to CM7.2 Miracle Edition for so long.
But in all honesty I'm tired of GingerBread and just want a functional ICS with full hardware acceleration. That means no cheating with a half-***ed camera app and the ability to watch HQ YouTube videos and regular videos, period.

Which of them is best is matter of preference. Each person will appreciate something different about any ROM, so the best advice is try all of them and pick which is best for you. At present they are all based on Arco's CM9, and I prefer that.

Oh, okay.. I prefer to choose a ROM that's not much of bugs, could you suggest me which ROM?
Because when I read each of ICS ROM thread comment's it's confusing me to choose which is almost stable ROM because of the bugs
By the way thanks for answering
wrong section dude! you should ask in general section. not in development. btw, all others ICS rom will be updated according to arco cm9
I would pick CM9, its since the others just use CM9 as a base while the others are great I find using the pure CM9 much better.
No bugs? Go back to gingerbread. No ICS can give you that yet. Please do know that ICS development for Galaxy Wonder is still on alpha stage. And also post appropriately. This is development section.
Sorry I'm new on creating thread
And I don't mean with no bug, I said with not plenty of bugs
Okay thanks for the answers guys, just asking, sorry for posting in a wrong section

yeah. pure CM9 is better. I have once tried Paranoid, it was pretty good too. it is more customizable than pure CM9 (I think you knew it). Im currently using CM9 build 6 which is pretty stable. the other ROM are based on CM9 build 5 anyway. so, you know the rule, build 6 is better than build 5 (literally), but in some case, it upside down. just flash any ROM. you will find your own answer.

Forgive a noob question, but...
what do you guys meanwE with "pure" CM9? Do you mean the CM9 as being developed by arco, or is there another source for CM9 on W?

Hey guys! Just picked up my S3 through Virgin Mobile Canada and loving it!!
I was wondering if anyone knows a way I can change the notification taskbar toggles and the power menu options? Are there apps or mods available that would give me such options?
Thanks!
root and install pretty much any of the roms in the android development forums... most of them include the 15-toggles mod which comes with quickpanel to change them up.
Hey. Thanks for the reply. I have root and CWM, but I haven't found a ROM that I feel comfortable enough to flash.
I'm sure there are excellent works being done out there, I have no doubts, I just haven't found one that was complete, or stable enough. Correct me if I"m wrong, but the JB source isn't out yet for the S3, no?
I've been monitoring mostly the "original" development form. The AOKP ROM is the one I've been keeping my eye out for.
Is a custom ROM required for these customizations? No other ways? Thanks!
A lot of the stock based roms are pretty rock solid, and have changeable toggles. Original development is a little shaky with jb yet, but progressing insanely fast. And no, source for our version, a touchwiz'd variation, of jb does not exist as Sammy hasn't released jb for out phone. Aosp jb source is out however and that's what cm10 and aokp are working with.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. I figured as much. Feeling pretty flash happy right now, but will probably hold off for another couple of months for JB source to be released. In the mean time, I was trying to figure a way to customize my current stock ROM. I downloaded a few power widgets, but are only workarounds.

Bro, you shouldn't ask these kind of questions. We can't say which one is the most "stable". The ROM that is for you is the one that is perfect for you. Try out all the 4.1 ROMs and see whats good for you.
My recommendation: Velox(Longest running 4.1 rom i used)

CM10 EOL has always been rock solid for me - even when updated to use Madridii's kernel which gave me great battery life (up to 2 days depending on use) Xperian UI is CM based and I found it to be an awesome derivative with some great Sony extras - no loss of stability or battery life with Madridii's kernel and Acid sound mod.
Am currently rocking Honami UI (cm10.1 - JB4.2.2) with Madridii's kernel and Acid sound mod, to be honest it's very similar in stability & reliability, battery life is only fractionally less and it is a good daily driver for me.

As many of you know, I am much into building kk roms because I believe they offer a very good compromise between performance and the latest trend/features. Of course, a few common features are not working, such as:
- MMS
- Camcorder/video recording
- Screen recording
- OpenVPN (kernel issue: cannot acquire tun interface socket)
Unfortunately these issues cannot be easily fixed by me.
2. In order to let me put the right focus on future rom developments, please use this poll to vote for my custom roms.

Yeah, slimkat is also one of my top favorite ones. But it looks like a tough challenge. I tried to build it a few times, no clue yet how to make it to work.

My favorite is oxygen ROM android 2.3.7. I'm using my desire as my main phone through the day because I'm using my nexus 5 with a wind mobile unlimited data stick plan for internet at home.
Oxygen seems to be the only ROM that feels fast enough day after day and 100% stable. After using the nexus it was feeling really slow until I tried oxygen.
All the kk Roms look nice and work good for a short bit until they get unstable. I don't think it will ever be possible to fix these issues.

My favorite rom is MildWild Stable ROM. AOSP Gingerbread. Compile from CyanogenMod
My suggestion is SlimROM (not present on vote list) but voted on LiquidSmooth as it's the only one lightweight ROM from the list (as I understood it is based on SlimROM).

Ok, I will give slim another try. Once I managed to compile SlimKat -- but telephony did not work, and then I got upset and demotivated.. :/
Unfortunately @vijendrahs has decided not to publish his sources. I am sure that I could have learnt a lot from his work for HTC Desire. :good:
Hey Desire'd folks,
Just to keep you in the loop.. I am still working on my SlimKAT experiment.. It has taken much longer than expected because I have decided to use PA's framework as a base as it appeared to me to offer the ideal base for our device in terms of purity and speed. Right now, I am adding on top Slim's features and also stuff from CM. I can't promise anything.. and I hope that my efforts bring us a working result.
In case I will get stuck with SlimKAT, I would switch over to work on a new PA release. Have you taken notice of Paranoid Android 4.6 Beta 4 “Humble Huckleberry”? Is that really Desirable?
Cheers and have a nice day!
Hello could someone help me here I have a HTC Desire 510 and its stock in bootloop does anyone know I way out of it ?

Old thread that I completely forgot about him.
(2017-02-19) 665 downloads (75 per day) from the date of creation Slim-bravo-4.4.4.build.9.0-UNOFFICIAL-20161206-0005.zip, this sensational result for such an old device, which is the HTC Desire (code name: A8181).
