I was wondering what's the difference for me havs is a bit laggy but what should be the differences
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Static and adaptive voltages but if you either search on google or in the kernel threads you would find the same and more.
Which is better????
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
There is no such thing as better. Otherwise they would not make both. Havs is usally undervolted, so if your phone is using the cpu, it uses less power. But not all phones like havs. Bottomline, try havs and if you don't like it go for svs.
Thanks I flashed the latest havs kernel and it seems fine what voltage should I go for 875 or 925 ???

Depends which one your phone's happy with..... if it's fine running at 875 mV then that's good. If it crashes a lot at 875 mV then go for the 925 mV (which will give it more stability...)
Thanks 875 is fine will click thanks button when I go on my computer

share what kernels your on and what you are volting them to! maybe some screen shots too
I'm using franco.kernel with 925, 1025, 1125 mV for 700, 1000, 1200 MHz. It's been running totally stable for days.
I used to get random reboots even with higher voltages on other kernels.
Franco.kernel rocks!

Simply question guys, is it wise/safe to use faux123 ultimate (cpu overclock) kernel. Not disrespecting the build quality its just the HTC one x heats up like crazy so reverted back to faux normal kernel. I love this phone but just wanna get the most out of it? Any opinions on this are very welcome

You said it yourself. If it's to hot for you don't use it?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
I use it! overclock and undervolt as faux123 suggested. So far the CPU temp is around 40-48c in not use state and 50-60c in mild use, 60-83c if playing heavy game. Before UV my HOX reached 92c, but after UV never been that state.
Battery life, no complain at all:good:
I used faux123 006u kernel, OC until 1700 MHz.

If it's reaching those temps in celcius, you are driving your phone to an early grave.
Deleted because I'm stupid.
Monsterkater said:
I wouldn't, by all means, overclock the phone if I got those temperatures. In fact, my HOX shuts down the moment it reaches 55 °C. 83 °C and more really IS some scary stuff ...

You guys are getting CPU and battery temps confused..... 83 on the CPU is fine.... 55 on the battery is too hot...

Yeah, you're right ofc. I'm sorry for confusing that, I didn't read properly.
Iv oc @ 1.6 and uc @ 1137 and its cooler than ever and battery life improved but every phone is different
Like faux says no 2 chips are the same
I would recommend trying it and if it gets to hot try 06m

What's the best way to uv the overclock? Tempted to.have a mess around with it.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I use system tuner does everything I need and if you uv to much the phone will freeze and reboot so don't worry if it crashes just don't save as default I have to change the values every time I reboot

Well took the plunge and overclocked and under voltaged the CPU and so far so good took the prev advice and running at 1.6ghz temp seems high when under heavy load but researched and well under guidelines and not much hotter than stock this mobile just gets better and better

This will tell you everything about oc and uv

Try this /etc/init.d script (google how to make these scripts work, basically change permissions.
(This is a text file), name it like 99ondemand_balancing or whatever. HOPEFULLY code is self explanatory.
Code:
echo "ondemand" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
chmod 664 /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online
echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online
echo "ondemand" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq/scaling_governor
chmod 664 /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu2/online
echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu2/online
echo "ondemand" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu2/cpufreq/scaling_governor
chmod 664 /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/online
echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/online
echo "ondemand" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/cpufreq/scaling_governor
echo "30000" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/ondemand/sampling_rate
echo "80" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/ondemand/up_threshold
echo "20" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/ondemand/sampling_down_factor
echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/tegra_grhost/enable_3d_scaling
echo "noop" > /sys/block/mmcblk0/queue/scheduler

Forgive me I no about rooting flashing roms kernels fastboot commands but when it comes to scripts Im a noob is it a simple process thanks

Hmmmm think I may be doing something wrong, faux 006u is installed on mine at 1.7ghz overclock and I have just used system tuner to reduce max CPU load to 1.6 how do u set the kernel at max of of 1.6? My handsets holding out fine the way I've done it but just incase would like to set max at 1.6.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I don't really get that how did u overclock to 1.7 I fort faux max was 1.6
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Lol not sure just installed the kernel the normal way and says 1.7.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Wow can u find out your chip variant for me u can find this in sys/kernel/debug/t3-variant I will see what you can do with your chip like the most stable uv n oc

Check with CpuSpy if the highest frequencies are being used please.

Does this mean that I overclocked to 1.6 and its not even being used

I'm using the Titanium KISS kernel with Min frequency at 368MHz and Max at 1.4GHz. I'm also using smartassV2 as well as sio scheduler. What do you guys use?
I am using the kiss kernep for JB with 1,5 GHz and smartassv2. I think my one v has a nice processor inside , because i ran it with 1.8 GHz almost stable and New it runs with 1.5 for about 2 mounth and its very stable. Just my battery drains hard ,but i think this is because oft the New Miui Rom and wrong calibration. Hope wie geht a New update for Miui with the bugsfixey

max: 1497MHz
min: 245MHz.
governor: ondemmand
i/o scheduler: deadline
you can read here, for more details about governor and scheduler :good:
How is the performance and battery life? Also, is 1.5 GHz stable? I'm scared to go that high. Being a nooby, can you tell me if my combination is good or not? Thanks
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app
maybe you can read here for more details about the stability of over clocking the kernel to 1,5GHz
1.2 is more than enough as ur battery drains fast....i use on demand or lion heart and when battery is low conservative

Hi all gio users
What's the best and safest cpu clock min max? 245-883 smartassV2 or 320-921 smartassV2 or recommand me an other guvernator/min-max value.
Sent from my GT-5660
the best and safest CPU freq for me is
MIN:245
MAX:883
GOV:Smartassv2
I/O sche: Deadline
you can try this if its better for you or not
You may not need to overclock cpu to 883 I think it doesnt give too musch but only makes your phone hot.
I think that 845 is enough
Maxium power of gio is (when CM10.1)min800-max902

U crazy? U know the last time my sister used that frequenicy the cpu got fried and she had to change it!
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda app-developers app
here it a little good idea
800mhz = 100% stable
864 = 98% stable
883 = 100% stable
902 = 92% stable
921 = 75% stable
940 = 65% stable
960 = 18% stable
1000+ = 0% stable
these max freq are good enough for me.mostly 883mhz is best one on all roms of its stablility.you try these freqs
