Is tehre any way to AUTO accept bluetooth file transfers from paired devices at least? It's kind of annoying that the phone just can't get the file and let me deal with it later without my interaction.
I believe when you get the "Accept Transfer" window up there is a check box to allow that device to send without confirmation from that point on. I can't check because I believe I've already done it with my laptop and so I don't get a confirmation alert any more, the files just transfer. I've turned BT on and off on my laptop and restarted the phone and it still doesn't so I'm sure I got it to do that.
I believe there's not not on my desire anyway, it's just accept or deny and there is no option to "always allow" so I have no idfea how to maek the phone STOP ASKING
Well, I just deleted my phone from my laptops paired devices and vice versa on my phone.
I made the phone discoverable and sent a file from the laptop. First the laptop searched for it and found it, I selected it and a request to "pair" showed on the phone. I clicked Pair and confirmed on the laptop, a second confirmation popped up to show a pass key and confirm the same was showing on the other device, being my laptop. This was correct so I confirmed on the phone and again on my laptop.
Finally it tried to send the file and a third and final confirmation screen has popped up. It says "Device <laptop> has requested permission to access the files on this phone." There is an option to allow or not and above that is a check box that says "Always"
You're saying you don't get that "Always" check box? I'm looking right at it.
I am scratching my head, what in lords name, well I don't have one I will go through the pairing procedure again and see if I magically get one but I never seen it so far weirdly enough!
Redid the entire procedure and find no box anywhere what so ever

Very strange. I've paired two different laptops this way, one a Dell another a Toshiba, both with different blue-tooth stacks (Toshiba and Microsoft)
so st range I've now tried pairing it with another cell too, I STILL never get a darn checkbox. I do get a checkbox to always allow the computer to connect, so far I'm good, but when I send a file I still get the box to accept or deny the file and there is no check box at all in this dialog.

Got no problems with connect confirmation. Paired my Jabra BT car speaker and since then when I turn it on - it automaticly connects with Desire without askin' me for permission.
Just thought I would chime in, I have the check box and checked it but it still asks me everytime anyway lol
lol, now that's helpful, even if I get the darn box it won't help me!
I was looking for some auto accepting app but there seems to be none so guess I (+ a few more) are the only ones having this problem.
BT Stacks?
I'm using the Toshiba bluetooth stack which does give you the 'always' option, but my HTC Hero (Fresh ROM 2.XXX - the latest as of 06/06/2010) asks every time anyway.
At some point I believe I had my phone auto accepting the file transfers from my home comp, but I can't remember which BT stack I was using. As for the phone I had Sprint's Android 1.5 release.
Maybe its the combination, you guys mind letting me know what BT stack and phone OS combo you're using? It's pretty annoying to have to confirm each send, since I can't send folders (never been able to do that with my Hero). I can send 10 files at a time though (think thats a BT stack restriction, since nothing happens when I try to send 20 files)

Weird. I've basically given up on this one though some say it works some say it doesn't. Gotta pick you fights, I'll just accept manually for now.
I don't have this auto-accept checkbox either... why??
HTC Hero using Android 2.2 with FroydVillain 1.4.4
I can get mine to auto accept file transfer by sliding down to the notification view. It ask for the first file, I accept, during the file transfer, I slide down the notification view and then it auto accepts the following transfers. If I get out of the notification view, it starts to ask me again. Weird...
May be it works also for U
Mine always asks me to accept communication with another device (at this point I tick the 'Always accept' box), then asks me to confirm file transfer.
Every time after this I stil have to confirm the latter, as there is no tick box for that one!!
Is this the same as other people are experiencing?
BlueTooth File Transfer Confirmation
Folks, I think this is what your looking for, let me see if I get this right > you want to transfers files i.e.(FTP,OPP,BIP files, or Files, Objects,& Images) to a Laptop and you keep getting the message that says "File Transfer Confirmation". If this is the problem you can try this.
Start>Bluetooth (all programs) > Bluetooth setting>Options>security Tab>Custom Level> under Bluetooth Information Exchange>uncheck boxes> Display File Transfer, Display Object Push, & Display Image Transfer.
Now when you Bluetooth to your laptop the file transfer window will appear to show you that something is transferring but will no longer ask you to accept it.
Make sure that you have chosen what location you want the files going into, because if you want to change where it is being saved, than you have to go back into Bluetooth setting to do so.
Hope this helps. - Jason

Try this app on github.
Please visit my git repository(KYHSGeekCode)
And install the app if you have Root permission.
It works fine.

In public places its a lot of other devices seen in bluetooth connection where as I only need to connect to 1 preferred device, is there any app which can connect to my paired device & scan rest of it.
As of now I have to go to settings>wifi>bluetooth>switch on then select my device manually from list.

I love it because u set a widget on your homescreen and you are just one click away from using you favourite bluetooth device
You can even set different shortcuts for different devices, like your laptop, headphones, etc.

Yes that's what I need but this one does not work on froyo 2.2.1 or higher version, the page mentions that "The widget works only with Android-2.1."
Yet I tried installing & when I start the widget the app hangs.
Any other similar apps?

I am using it on Gingerbrad 2.3.5 without any problems, I would recommend to upgrade your firmware.
You can also try this one:

Remember, you can buy an app, and try it for 15 minutes, if you don't like it you get a refund!!!
Be careful to not to exceed the 15 minute window if you want to get refunded!
Latest JuiceDefender beta has a Bluetooth section where you can specify which are your prefered devices, so when they are turned on, the BT will automatically connect to them.

hi..
i'm developing a current meter using the IOIO card, now usually any android application ,can either be debugged with an emulator or with the phone itself (using usb/wifi over adb).
my problem is that ioio, takes up the usb, AND it also conflicts with adb over wifi, and naturally, since the emulator doesn't have IOIO, i'm left stranded.
now i know that there 2 options, the first being using ADK, which i cannot (cause i have 2.3.3 android), the 2nd is using bluetooth dongle, an option just recently added, however since not all dongles are being supported , i was wondering what other ways do i have.
at the very least i would like to have an option to view the logcat in my pc, instead of quickly squinting over the phone every time i have an exception, (funny thing, HTC got pounced just because they included a "spyware" app which does more things like that). 2nd it would be great if i could somehow copy the APK to my phone, (i'm guessing i can't really install it without using adb).
at least the development cycle would get shorter or more comfortable
I just bought Tablet Talk for 2.50 and the only way it works is via WiFi. When I try to use Bluetooth, I get a connection error code 1. Please help me.

Make sure. Both devices have their Bluetooth turned on then open tablet talk on both devices and make sure Bluetooth connection is selected. On the phone hit the red Bluetooth button and select enable discovery, on the tablet it should ask u to setup devices and find the phone via Bluetooth
What Rom are you on? You might want to test it using a different Rom. There were a couple of times out there in which Tablet Talk doesn't work.
I am currently running CodeAndroid and both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections work.

I'm on the latest cm10 and I had it working the other day with blue tooth just fine but I can't get it to connect today. I was able to unchecked the option to share Internet over blue tooth before in bt settings but it won't unchecked now. The only consistent connection I have been able to maintain is off the hot spots on my galaxy nexus but it won't reconnect without me manually pushing the connect button. Has been inconsistent for sure but just attribute it to the romantic and flashing nightly.

I ran into this this weekend... I ended up UNpairing through the the bluetooth settings in the ROM itself (not the app) clearing cache / data on tablet talk on both phone and n7, then repairing through the ROM and setting up through the app. Pain in the *** and took me a few tries but now it's working great.
Unpairing and pairing again works for me.
An alternative for the app but works a different way is TabletSMS by koush. I use it more often than tablet talk https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.tabletsms

I can vouch for TabletSMS. It works very well. I also have tablet talk but I use that for car connectivity by tethering it with my phone when in my car. The tether connect is flawless.
Tablet talk working fine for me.
I ran into the same issue
The only way it works for me is to press the connection button on both devices
I haven't found a way to trigger the connection from one device only (CM9 phone / stock JB tablet, bluetooth tethering on)
Email the developer, he helped me out. Awesome service.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
For those having a problem with Tablet Talk relating to pairing/connecting your devices, here's a quick fix reply from the developer posted on Androidcentral.
I am the original creator and main developer of Tablet Talk. Someone emailed about this thread, which prompted me to make this account so that I can offer better support and obtain feedback.
First, mrgdr57: the app is for Android tablets and phones. Please send an email to [email protected] with the subject "Refund." Either send it from or provide the email address your order is under so that I can locate and take care of it right away!
Next, if you have not done so already, please install the update which was released very early this morning. It will help with the connection problems.
Regarding port: this setting only affects Wifi.
Wifi
If Wifi is not working, then please do the following:
Change the port to 8080 on both devices. It can be found under "Setup."
Under "Setup" on your tablet, enter your phone's IP address. Your phone's IP is displayed inside the phone app ("Phone IP: 192...."). Almost always the app finds your phone automatically; however, sometimes it is unable to. The tablet app keeps track of each network separately, so you should not have to do this every time.
Bluetooth
Sometime when Bluetooth is not working, a simple restart of either the tablet or phone fixes the problem. Once Bluetooth is setup, it should work without any problems. The previous version appeared to be having Bluetooth problems, and this morning's update (1.5.3) should help with these.
If Bluetooth has not yet worked for you, then uninstall and reinstall the app on both devices to get a fresh start.
When the app first opens, it detects whether you are using a phone or tablet. A popup appears asking you to confirm. Make sure that you confirm the correct device type. You can always change the device type in Tablet Talk's settings ("Misc" in phone, "Appearance & Behavior" in tablet). If you are texting from a Galaxy Player linked to a phone, then you will need to tell the app that the Galaxy Player is a "tablet." Also, if your phone is a Galaxy Note, the app might think it's a tablet, so be sure to identify it as a phone.
The standard solution for when Bluetooth setup is not working is to do the following:
Open Android's Bluetooth settings on both devices. If they are already paired, unpair your phone and tablet from each other.
Toggle Bluetooth off and then back on (both devices).
Pair your phone and tablet within Android's Bluetooth settings.
Phone: open Tablet Talk and press the connect button. If it asks you to enable discovery, press accept.
Tablet: open Tablet Talk and press the connect button.
Quick & Automatic Connecting
Once Tablet Talk is setup, connecting can be made much quicker and automatic for future use. Check out the Automatic Settings on both devices for the options. There is also a widget. You can tailor it to your specific needs.
Also, whenever you connect, the app will sync any newly sent or received messages on your phone from the last use.
Example configuration: When you get home from work, simply enable Wifi or Bluetooth on your phone, and then turn on your tablet. The app will take care of the rest. Automatic settings:
Tablet: auto start when app opens. Auto enable Wifi or Bluetooth.
Phone: auto start when Wifi or Bluetooth is enabled.
I will be subscribed to this thread and try to reply to new posts as often and quickly as possible. You can also email [email protected]. Feel free to send questions, feature requests, comments, etc. Feedback--good and bad--is always appreciated!

I managed to get it working by creating an ugly workaround with tasker: my tablet sends a connection request (via the autoremote plugin) to the phone who launches tablettalk (with auto-connect at startup turned on) and then the tablet launche tablettalk too with the same autoconnect option. As the two devices are trying to connect simultaneously, the connection is established correctly. That's the only way I found to get a connection (other than manually pressing 'connect' on both two devices)
contact names not consistent between phone and tablet.
This may sound strange but when I send a message on my phone and a tablet syncs, the contact name on the tablet does not match the contact name on the phone. The phone shows the name, but the tablet just shows the phone number and also when I have two people with the same last name in my contacts the phone shows the correct name but the tablet shows the other person's name, even though the phone's contact list contains completely different different information for each of the contacts

DROWNING in Google and forum search results here. Good search terms, links, 'app' names, welcome.
(Drowning because I catch hits where the android remote controls another device, such as a TV, or a PC - instead of the other way around.)
It's becoming increasingly difficult to remotely help friends that use Android - mostly because I can neither see nor control their screens.
What's the best way / apps to go about setting this up?
NOTES:
this is NOT android acting as a remote control.
this is NOT android remote controling a PC
this IS remote controlling the ANDROID.
I have remote access to their network, be it via ssh or vnc. (From a 'privacy' perspective, it's only sense to get to their network, then get to their Android - i.e. Access to their stuff is under their control.)
wi-fi is up and happy. As is USB, for that matter.
the remote phone is NOT rooted.
I've come across, but have no opinion on (your opinions welcome):

TeamViewer QuickSupport - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamviewer.quicksupport.market.samsung / Needs pc side from www.teamviewer.com. (Note: Android might not be a Samsung. I thought I saw a non-Samsung remote control on their site, but now don't see it.)
Droid VNC server - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.onaips.vnc
VMLite VNC Server - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vmlite.vncserver&hl=en (Has a process for non-root access. Better than nothing, I suppose.)
Webkey - https://play.google.com/store/apps/..._result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS53ZWJrZXkiXQ..

Remote Web Desktop looks like it has some interesting functionality, is pretty enough without being over the top (speaking as a guy who finds ssh, in colour, of course, adequately pretty), but is sufficiently broken to be not worth pursuing. Terminal isn't really there (e.g. su results in prompts of $ on one line, then # on next), web cam capture captures a still only, screen capture bears no resemblance / colour fix doesn't, ... uninstalled.
Companion or standalone Remote Control Add-On is through browser only, and at port 3389 of all things. [No RDP doesn't work, either.] Chrome / Opera / Firefox none works - says to install java, takes you to Oracle but not to what it wants. Not quite latest / greatest 6 installed beforehand and it still wants java installed. Not going back to 7, uninstalled that some while ago - will wait until it becomes real. App promises standard vnc connectivity at 5901 (why not 5900 I've no idea), but doesn't work. Netstat shows it isn't even listening.
Uninstalled ... next!

Webkey wouldn't stay up long enough for more than a few clicks in browser.
Service kept dying. Restart succeeded most of the time, but not always. Task manager exit and it came back up in those instances.
Uninstalled.
*Note to Selves: AdAway (can) run an internal web server (to catch / redirect web calls), and (by necessity) runs on standard ports, both www and https. So ... if you run another web catching app, it can't use those ports. [Not a problem for them to do so to date, but just so's you don't blame the app under test for not working when it's trying to listen on a port already taken by AdAway.]
- and you want to run the AdAway web server - better it give an immediate unreachable response than having to wait for the call(s) to time out.
Airdroid seems nice / capable enough, if a little 'fluffly.'
Separate ssh / samba / vnc apps seem a little simpler and cleaner - if more to configure.
Samba - 'Samba Filesharing' (edit smb.conf if you want root (as in /), although smb.conf now says modifications not supported.)
[If you modify / something breaks, go back to stock and see if it still breaks. Duh!]
VMLite VNC Server - not tried.
Pixel VNC Server Beta - sure is. Won't stay up. Connect attempt results in service failure [Error(3)] before first screen draw. (I see drawing initial screen message, then it drops.) Uninstalled. Looks to have the nicest / cleanest interface though. Just the facts / text, nothing goofy / fancy.
VNC server (wencent) and droid VNC server must use same code base - options/screens seem identical.
- both are slow (but better than nothing), both seem to take a number of restarts before picking up password / port changes, although the port it says it's at matches the port entered. e.g. it defaults to 5901, I changed to 5900, started, and it displayed 5900 but was actually listening on 5901. Note: Don't use special characters in password, such as '&' - plain text password storage in .xml file gets written wrong. Probably the cause of the startup / port / password misfires. YEP, I SAID *PLAIN* TEXT PASSWORD STORAGE. <sigh>
VNC server (wencent) blog page annoying, droid VNC 'nicer'. I noted to both to please put restart button on same page as on/off. No auto-rotate, so if you have to rotate (in settings), and since a restart is necessary to effect, a restart button would be useful.
droid VNC settings hint at (but broken / no worky / not what it is) at a reverse VNC connection. Which would be FANTASTIC! Your idiot friend out and about you can't get to, but he could call you at your known IP / forwarded listening port.
HTH.
Android control PC?
I have read the article http://flash-video-player.blogspot.com/2013/02/how-to-use-android-phone-to-remote.html and I just wonder if the apps here can support PC controlling Android phone.
I was looking for the same thing.. I have the Samsung Captivate and S3.
I tried the RemoteCall from Rsupport which I heard of them from Mobizen (same company). No rooting and standard ports (can't see it happening on a 8888..). It can control and gives you all the info.
One thing is that they charge 1600 for a year.. waaay too expensive for me.. they said discount is available for more than 1 license, but I guess that will apply to businesses.. not for individuals.. I will say Mobizen is so far the solution for me.
Installed VMLite VNC Server. Works great on my not-rooted phone. I had to install libncurses5:i386 on my amd64 ubuntu to work with adb. It would be better if I could change the resolution of the phone's image. Should be cheaper.
Thanks, i am using webkey. it's a very nice app. :good:
team viewer versus airdroid
Hello everyone. Sorry mi english is not very good
I am doing proyect that I have to install a device ( samsung s4 ) 5km away from home and run an app on it to trigger a foto camera.
Team viewer do that but you have to be in the device to accept the conexion remote, so is no suitable for me at this point. Airdroid dont ask for permision to conect to the device , which is excelent , but I can not run an app inside the device in remote, so is no ok for me at this point.
The question is : how can I open an app to control the camera from the device in remote whith out me beside to the device?? Is there an app to do that??
How can I avoid in team viewer to ask permision to acces to the device??
Is posible to do something about it ??
I am not talking about the camera in the device , I am talking about a camera which is conected to my device by a cable at the same time and trigger and control the camera setings from km´s away via Lan conection 3g.
Thank you all

if you have the same problem like me with the droid vnc server (connect but can't control it) the droid vnc server will help to conect to teamviewer quicksupport without someone to accept you. the video i make will show you how.
i cant add link so you have to find it by searching in youtube: connect to teamviewer quicksupport using droid vnc server to get access
Be careful with webkey, it send personal data...
I have tested 'Droid VNC server' and it requires root. I couldn't use it without that.
I have a FREE complicated solution without root.
Screen output:
while sleep .01 ; do convert -depth 8 -size 1280x1280 rgba:/dev/graphics/fb0'[0]' -rotate 90 -crop 1280x720+0+0 bmp:/scard/b.bmp ; mv /scard/b.bmp /sdcard/c.bmp ; echo -n . ; done
It works for my padfone 2, without padfone station. On any linux, you can sshfs your phone, and access /sdcard/c.bmp that way.
It should be run as the user adb, use adb shell from a PC connected by USB to access it, then adb forward to access to the sshd running on the phone.
If you want this to continue after disconnection, you should run tmux first.
I uploaded working binaries for bash, convert, scp and sshd on gentooandroid.sf.net ; tested on Android 4.1 and Android 4.4.
The difficult part on secured Android 4.4 is to find a place not mounted noexec where to put the binaries.
Mouse click on pixel position 300 300:
/system/bin/input tap 300 300
Text input:
/system/bin/input text yourtext
Home button:
/system/bin/input keyevent 62
See /system/bin/input and http://grepcode.com/file/repository...android/4.0.4_r1.2/android/view/KeyEvent.java
Anyone trying to automate this (with "Automate" from google play) or connect that to a VNC server, please report progress !
thx so much for that thread, i spend hours googling this.
i am actually trying webkey.
what i want to do primarily is control volume on android, as my device acts as a webradio (connected to the stereo via headphone jack).
I use droid vnc to start up "tunein radio" . that works fine. BUT it is way to slow to adjust volume, PLUS there are no keys to adjust volume, so i have to go to a quicksetting - volume - and adjust via mous. btw it only takes keyboard inputs if they are followed by a left-mouse-click... alt-d and alt-u dont work.
i also tried a ssh server on android and control volume via
"input keyevent 24"
and
"input keyevent 25"
which workes for a while, but then has no effect any more
vnc connection is crap, as my phone is an old samsung s2 - to slow.
acutally i am looking for the uri to send to the webkey server to adjust volume, so i wouldnt have to go over the website any more. - seems its websocket calls, so i will have to make some python implementation, as i dont know jscript.
-- btw, you can send volume event over ssh like this, but i dont know why it takes seconds for the device to react:
on the console:
input keyevent 24
input keyevent 25
Use automate to change volume
Automate from Google play can change the volume according to a change of file in a clould (or any other method you like).
Minimal asking of permission, this is a good thing.
Beware, Automate is free only for up to 30 "lines" of program, but just changing the volume is like 10 "lines" of program only.
