I plan on getting the One X but I'm worriec about the only 25gb internal. A lot of gsmeloft games require at least 1gb of storage. And then I would want some tegra games. And then my normal apps and other games. I don't know if I would have enough storage. But I won't need storage for music because I use google music. I would just want some extra for maybe a couple 700mb AVI movies. Right now I have an HTC Sensation and still only have the 8gb ad card it came with and am making it work. But for my next phone I wanted one with loads of internal storage and a sd card slot.

Internal still 900 mb left for apps. On SD card still 25,65 GB left. (Keep in mind that this might change if devs can repartition the drive so you can get 5 gb internet and 20 sd for example).
You'll have more then enouf storage! Also movies can be played on Dropbox (25Gb free)

sadly i have an ipod 3 gen and the play music quality is so bad compared to my hox.
i have an ever growing collection of music
@op if you're not using your phone like i am for music then you should be fine.
i dont play games or take pictures as i have a DSLR for that so i just filled mine with music
lol agree with the music quality. Posts like this make me wonder what I really use my phone for. Over half the used storage is mods, roms, backups, and suchlike.
I came from a sensation with a 32gb card in it. So far I have not run out. Installed loads of games and got cm backups etc. I do find I have to be careful with the amount of music and def only ever have one or two movies on it. I take a lot of photos and video which would kill it if I didn't upload to Dropbox.
Upshot 32gb is manageable but 64gb would be comfortable. Dam them for removing the SD expansion from their phones!

Hello fellow mate...
1- yes it has 1.0 gb of ram. Mine is always 860-900 mb ( see pic, this is after clearing ram there was a corrupted app. )
2-sense is the number one feature that made sell my s3 and buy this. TW is ugly, but sense is beautifull and has tons of personalizations..
Good luck with this phone

After 10+ years with Sprint, I'm thinking about jumping ship to Straight Talk and dumping my Epic 4G Touch (Galaxy SII) for a Galaxy Nexus when my contract expires. I have a 32GB Class 10 card almost filled up with tunes, pictures, and a few ROMs and backups. The 64GB cards are coming down in price and I was thinking about getting one.
However, I see that the Nexus doesn't have a card slot. How are you guys coping with the lack of extra storage? Obviously you are, but it seems like a big step down for me to lose that capability. There must be enough positives about this phone to overcome the lack of a card slot. I'd like to hear what they are.
My Sprint contract doesn't run out for a few months, so I have time to explore other options. Maybe there will even be a new Nexus with a card slot by then.
I, personally, have the TORO.
32 gig.
But only have half of it filled anyway.
I stream my music...
And have multiple nandroids on my phone (that I really don't need more than one of).
It hasn't bugged me at all.
i dont mind it at all. i dont have to worry about moving apps to the SD card to get space on the phone partition. it works out better i think
It is probably a bigger deal to someone looking to get a 64GB card to go down to 16GB but it isn't the worst. I stream videos from my computer using apps and stream my music with Spotify and after those two large space takers are out of the way 16 GB is pretty big haha

It was a big deal to me at first. I have found other ways to cope. Putting important photo albums on Picasa helped a lot, as does Google Music.
Sent from a sensor-laden supercomputer that fits in my pocket.
The only reason is for flashing new roms, but I think that doesn't flash certain directories, like the sdcard directory, so would that be the same, to store stuff there?
I do sort of miss it. I miss that fact that i could just pop in my sd card into my laptop and drag a ROM to flash if i couldnt get my epic to boot. It definetly came usefull when i had to test my themes... when one wouldnt work i could find the fix just load it on the sd card and try that. However i think with the nexus.. booting into the bootloader you can just adb push things right? Anyways, i put all the music i had in my music folder which is about 2.3gigs on Google Music.. stream that when i want to. Use cloud storage for most my other things such as .apk's ive themed and tools for apk themeing . But for the most part ive only filled about 2 gigs so far... on the sprint 32gb. I guess it all depends on preference and circumstances. But im sure you could find an alternative for storage.

What he said.
Streaming music/video + having google drive/picasa makes me only use the storage for some photos anyway.
My old phone, Defy+, had about 8GB so the Nexus is an improvement.
However I select my music I carry with me and I don't even watch videos. If I had 64GB or more I would put alot more music onto it, but I don't miss it. Just nice to have, but there is no point of "oh gawd, what should I delete...".
OTG + USB-Stick is also an option, if you want to watch a movie at a friends house or something.
I do miss it a little...
I do think it's interesting that The phone manufacturers seems to be pushing us to use the cloud more, resulting in more bandwidth being used, and the carriers are pushing people off of unlimited data plans unto tiered plans... Something has to give...
I miss it because I like having all manner of videos, music, etc on tap for entertainment. I've learned to deal with it by streaming music and uploading videos and pictures rather than storing them all on the card.

Thanks for that! USB OTG doesn't work on my E4GT, but I see that there are Nexus kernels with it working. Guess I can carry a cable and a card reader for whenever I need to access the extra storage.
Not really. I have about 5GB of music, and then I stream from YouTube and Netflix for all my video needs. I have about a 1GB of various game ROMs, and I still have about 7GB free.

the only problem is that i play a lot with phone, and after installing 3\4 hd games,my storage is always full..apart that,i don't need extra space, but the lack of not have a microsd i miss a bit.not for only storage, but for the of change the sd from my phone, and put it on my tablet.with gnex i can't.i usually use airdroid to transfer from pc,but i miss a wireless method to do that from tablet to phone (fon't know if there are others methods...)and with an microsd it'll become more friendly to do..
miss a bit an scard slot (i have the 16gb version,in my country gnex 32gb it doesn't exist.if i have a 32 gb version,i don't think i've miss the microsd.
I'd just gotten mine and the lack of micro sd isn't a deal breaker, plus like some said you could get an otg cable and flash drive. Personally i got this as my keychain, it's gotten expendable memory and has both a regular and micro usb side to it a bit pricey though.

I thought I would miss it, but I've gotten over it.
Its taught me to be a bit more selective on the crap I hoard. Can't be a bad thing really. Has made me realize, after being selective, all my HTC desire had on it was junk and I can easily cope with 16GB

I can't imagine someone having 16G of apps? Matter of faxt 8 gig of apps would be crazy. I have 30 apps on my SGSIII and that is only .7G. Most Apps are only like 10M so it would take 100 apps for 1 G. Id say 16G is plenty. Buy a 64G SD card for all your media files and you should be fine.
16 GB is fine on a phone that allows an external microSD card. Put all your music, photos, videos, etc on the microSD and you'll have 16GB dedicated only for apps.
16 GB on a device that doesn't have an SD slot is okay for people who either don't have much stuff or that store that stuff on a "cloud" service (dropbox, google music/drive, etc) Personally, I don't like the "cloud" idea as it uses up my data allotment.
For the sake of comparison, I have 4 Gigs of music and many apps on my Inspire 4G with 8 GB micro SD Card. 16 GB internal with a 32 GB card will be more space than most people will use.
i actually had to clear out internal space for tomtom maps on my 16gb atrix (no option to use sd card for the maps) ....and i only use internal for apps.
yeah i know there are ways to force apps to sd...but it was causing freezing issues on the atrix...
so yeah, a little disappointed that there isn't a 32gb at launch...cuz in two years apps can just get bigger and bigger....

Can't you install the APPS on the SD card, just like you can do today?
Was just curious on difference in file size between my ios apps and soon to be android apps. I will compare a couple of other apps later today but if this is the trend I don't think I will have an issue with only 10gb of usable space.
I just compared the original angry birds 2.3.0 and my ios app is 112mb and the play store shows the android version is only 24mb.
Netflix ios 30.3mb and playstore shows the android version at 10mb.

wow. That concerns me greatly.
For me 16GB is not enough for main memory. I have a 32GB SD card but unfortunately on the S3 and presumably the Note 2 App2SD won't work. So all you are left with is 16gb to install all your apps, which is really like 11GB useable. Well if you want to play games on your phone (I have been) a lot of these bigger games are each 1GB or larger!! I just Bards tale and that had an option to install 3.5GB!! So for me I have to say my next phone needs to have at least 32GB or larger especially if App2SD can't get working right. I was really hoping the Att GN2 would come in 32 and 64GB flavors.
1 guy posted in the thread I pasted that Titanium backup moves Apps to the SD without issue. I get mine Tuesday I'll be trying it first thing. If it doesn't work I'll have to return it, 10Gb is not enough for Apps now and future.

My main concern regarding the memory configuration is that I thought I read somewhere in the forums that internal memory has faster access than the SD card expansion memory. My current Galaxy Note is using a 16g internal memory configuration with a 32g Class 10 SD card. I was hoping to go for the 32g option for internal memory if it was going to be made available but maybe the speed benefit isn't that great.
When looking at the pre-order options, I only see the 16g model and it doesn't offer the white version that is listed on Samsung's site! I'm not sure if I should wait a little longer or just dive in now!

I'm in the same boat, I would like to get a White 32gb version but I read AT&T is only getting the 16GB and only have grey for now. I'm not sure if I can wait until the white one comes out or not.

Guys I'm going to be buying this phone but I just have one question.
I'm a pretty heavy use and currently have a HTC one X 32gb and I've used quite a lot of the space. I have around 60 + apps installed
With the note 2 do you run out of space when installing a lot of apps?
Nope. I've got 86 apps installed, at one point had about 126 and never had any space issues, only if I had loads of pics/videos on the internal memory.

You will likely run out of storage as a 16gb note 2 will only have 10gb free... Large games and movies or music will destroy that space fast. Luckily you can root and use the app directory bind. I've moved over 10gb of games to my 64gb ad card. Now I have over 6 gb free on my device for piece of mind.
Enjoy the Note 2!
Hi all
I have looked at the galaxy tad s and I like it a lot, but it’s a lot to pay for just about 6 GB of useable space for apps and games.
Please can you tell me if there is any way to use the SD card for the apps and games as I have just got a 128gb SD card and it seems a shame to just use it for photos, music and films?

When I was looking at the 16GB tablets at Best Buy, after clearing up junks files, pictures, etc., I believe it said there was at least 9GB left.
Hey
I've been thinking of getting the 128 GB sand disk micro SD card. I'm one of those people that have too much media and can never decide on which is more important so I take everything with me. I've had a 64 GB card but I think a 128 would be better for me. I had my eyes on the sandik 30 Mb/s one but I've noticed they've released another one..
OLD http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-MicroSDXC-Memory-Adapter/dp/B00IIJ6W4S
NEW http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Adapt..._sim_pc_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=02GXYJZC6GPX250649MH
I have two questions basically,
1. How come the old one is cheaper than the newer one, since the newer one is faster? Is it really faster or is that just branding?
2. Does it slow the device down a lot in general ? Like not just booting up?

Newer one is cheaper because it is being sold by amazon themselves, whereas the old one is being sold by some other company.
I don't know about slowing the device down. I have 64gb, but it definitely should not affect speed because booting is being done from internal memory. Also, all your apps will be on internal also, unless specifically installed on external.

I meant the time it would take to read the media on the card etc. Not the actually OS booting.
If you use a class 10, and only load your media on it(don't load apps), you should be fine and not experience any slowdowns.

I've found that with a class 10 64gb card you definitely see lag when using the stock music app, that changed when I moved to rocket player. That's with around 50 GB of music, just trying to scroll through artists etc.
