[Q] Does This Rom Work With Telus Samsung SGH-T989D? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hey,
I have a quick question, does Hazerd's [ROM] Mhyegen Rom 1.2 | ICS | LP4 | Performance | Battery [6-04] work with TELUS' Samsung Galaxy SIIX (sgh-t989d)?
The ROM looks absolutely awesome, everyone is giving it good feedback.

Do you have a link for that ROM? I can't find it in these forums or the Skyrocket, so you can't flash it unless you want a bricked phone.

Depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for a no frills ROM that "just works", I would suggest digital warfare. It's close to stock and has great battery life and stability. If you're looking for ROMs that have a few more bells and whistles, I would suggest Juggernaut. I've heard slickMOD is the straight up fastest, but I can't confirm that since I haven't tried it. I personally am not a fan of beastMOD, it seemed a little too unstable for my tastes. But its theming might appeal to you.

honestly i think your rom will be the best and most awesome rom ever. Head over here to build it.
I have used ARHD and was very happy with it. I just switched to the Gummy ROM this afternoon and I like it as well.
The problem is no one has enough info from you. Different ROMs have different features. Because of this, "best" is largely opinionated. Read through the [ROM] threads in the development section. Try and get a feel for what features you want then ask around for which one people like the most.
My experience:
ARHD: Pretty much 4.0.2 stock. No visual changes, just performance enhancements. Nice and smooth ROM
Gummy: based on leaked 4.0.3 with major enhancements. Toggles in the drop down menu. Ability to over clock and under volt. I have not ran it very long, but so far really like it.
Hope this helps.

I was on ARHD 2.1.2 for a little while. It ran much better than stock. Then I tried bigxie's ROM and it felt much smoother than ARHD. I'm currently using it with Franco's kernel. While benchmarks don't really tell the whole story, bigxie's ROM with Franco's kernel is quite fast. I get over 3000 on Quandrant (vs 2200 stock, although I think it's an optimization issue) and over 6300 on Antutu (vs. 6000). I like it b/c it looks stock, but adds a few conveniences, like having the power widget in the dropdown notification menu for easy toggling.
From the research I have done AOKP seems to be a winner...I have no experience with it as Im waiting for the price on the gnex to come down before I pull the trigger. But its a very popular among the members I know who have switched to the gnex.
I've always know what AOSP is but what is AOKP. I hear that alot.

Score one for the fellow Fascinate owner! If he can find one of the best ROMs available on the Gnex without even having one, the answer should be even more obvious to Gnex owners. I use the Toro version of AOKP myself and can confirm droidstyle's conclusion
Terminators run on Android
AOKP is simply the best one
Try the Milestone 2, its great!
Kang milestone 2, Franco kernel oc 1.35
Best I have used.
7000 antu score
120k browser mark.
Stable no issues great battery life.
Can't complain

Using GummyNex and franco's kernel. Best combo I have tested so far.
I recommend AOKP as well Go to rootzwiki and get the latest build

Android Revolution HD!!! great battery life, super smooth, but completely stock look - no bells and whistles
AOKP. Awesome extras, great battery life with Franco's kernel, and super stable.

It's tough to say what is the 'best ROM' as different users want different things from a ROM, but personally, I really rate Bigxie and AOKP.
They are the only two ROMs I'd recommend for GSM Nexus.

[Q] Looking for a Rom

Hi guys I have a T-mobile Samsung SGH-T989 galaxy s2.
Im looking for a rom that is simple, fast and has a better battery life.
Could you guys plz include some links because I already bricked my phone once and had to replace it.
Thank you
If you are looking for gb roms try slick mod I used for a while battery life is sick its fast and light.. Lots of gb roms are out there great once head to develop forum and make sure to follow the directions so you don't brick your phone again.. As of ics they are bit buggy I would stay away and try gb roms first enjoy

Ics is the latest version of android and has been further optimized and includes more features compared to gingerbread. It hasn't been officially released for our phone so ics roms are still buggy.

[Q] ICS ROM, jmztaylor or Team D.I.R.T??

Hey guys i havn't been on here in forever and no longer know what to get. someone please help me. i know Jmztaylor has the Unofficial CM9 for Supersonic Nightlies. However Team D.I.R.T has 2 roms: Team D.I.R.T | CM9 Port [UPDATED 11 JUNE 2012] and TEAM D.I.R.T | RemICS-UX Port | ICS 4.0.4. in your opinion which ics rom is the best?
They're all different. It wouldn't hurt to experiment and try them all. They all offer a different experience. It all depends what you're looking for.

just wondering why do you say that one is the best?
My favorite is Team D.I.R.T's Cyanogen Mod 9, it has a little less is it then the rest of the Team dirt roms have. Making it a smaller file, but here's the kicker, you don't have to use go sms it has working MMS and native SMS split so you can use the stock which looks really cool. It also has the MIUI style battery. It's also very stable too no FC.
The remics rom is a great Galaxy S III alternative, right on your EVO, there's just a few bugs I don't like, like setting not sticking unless you restart the device, and having to use gosms.
Lastly, i haven't tried jmztaylors but i will as soon as I root my phone again.
All IMO of course.

It's fast and smooth mainly but the biggest plus for me is it's not AWD or Go Launcher heavy like others. Almost every ROM with a CM base are the same minus a few tweaks here or there and all use the above two launchers and this one doesn't.
This one has more of a real feel then the rest IMO.

currently, I use JMZ's CM9. I haven't tried the other two. I did use Deck's, which was very good as well.
I haven't used Deck's for a couple months. I see he's some some more recent updates. He does good work. I just found for the tweaks I did, I was getting a lot FC and reboots. I use TB to get rid of a lot stuff and use other apps such as K9, Jorte, Trillian, Launcher Pro with Folder Organizer, Google Voice and so on. I do this on almost all ROMs after about a week or two.
Deck's had GAPPs, at part of it, baked in. CM9, you need to flash it. It does have Goo manager, which is nice when first installing to make sure you have updated GAPPS and stuff like that. I remove it after that.
I tried MIUI a few months back. I just didn't like the experience it gave. I found it to be very laggy. I also didn't care for the whole UI. I'm sure it's much improve today performance wise.
My taxing app I based most judgment on is OnLive. I use their universal controller. Between the controller, Jambox, and OnLive's high data usage, any system lag or hiccups became extremely obvious.
Just remember, all ICS roms are still basically betas or prebetas because not everything is working or working well. If you use Boot Manager, you can try them all with minimal fuss, and still keep your daily.

Let's not forget TEAM D.I.R.T's SaladBAR and Paranoid Android! RemICS-UX is cool and was my daily for a few weeks (rare for me) but I decided I wanted a more stock feel so I installed SaladBAR yesterday. It isn't for me and I was going to back to Paranoid Android (amazing rom) today until I saw Papa Smurf's quote that Mazda posted on the TEAM D.I.R.T CM9 port thread about the upcoming release (tonight):
"holy **** this thing is fast as hell"
I decided to stick with SaladBAR until that sucker hits

I think you might be confusing roms here. RemICS has working MMS. I am on it as we speak and it works 100%. As per settings not sticking I believe you are talking about Team Dirt's Cm9 v1.7 which had that issue. Not a dig by any means buddy, but be careful to get your facts straight as many people might be turned off from a rom by your review posted.
As for the OP's question. If it is between the 2 roms mentions in your OP....I would go with JMZ's cm9 as it is more up to date. I hear great things are coming for Team Dirt's cm9. But at the time of this post..its been some time since the last update and JMZ's has changed quite drastically.
On the flip side...Team Dirt's cm9 could be worth the wait for release

I've been running RemICS, and I love it. It runs awesome. It's so snappy: the thing just flys for me. It's funny because after I flashed it I felt like I just got a new device. I like how it replicates some of the Galaxy stuff. I like the Walkman and Memo apps. Battery life is great. I just pretty much really like how it runs.

[Q] Best Kernel for LiquidSmooth RC5?

Hey, I am wondering what the best kernel for the Galaxy Nexus running [ROM]LiquidSmooth-JellyBean v2.0 RC5[10/11/12] (updating ROM now)... I am running franco.Kernel-Milestone5... what would give the best battery life and best performance in your opinions?

I can't do stock kernel, so I use the next best thing which is leankernel . Works for me.
I should add, I'm only giving my opinion based on jelly bean. I've never ran that rom ever, and if you like Franco kernel then use that, I don't really believe that one kernel is always better for everyone. Just telling you what I enjoy

New to Note series, good roms to start on?

I'd like roms that feature optimizations, are touchwiz-based, a stock feel, and have nice customization. Which roms would you recommend for a 1st-timer on the note 2?

No, there's actually a rom called MyROM. I'd suggest JediX to start off with, it's like stock but on steroids. If you need wifi calling then use Jedi Master. Best way to figure out what's best for you though is to just flash the ROMs and try it out.

I recommend Tweaked. It is well built flawless and bug free. Has many features, a handful of themes that support it, and stock features that you seek if you want it. Just chose in Aroma installer. Multi-windows, wifi-calling, t-mobile apps, etc.
Jedi roms, and My Roms are quality as well. Read through the threads, and pick what you think suits you the best.
I'd recommend Jedi, the X variant for the latest and greatest or Master if you need wifi-calling. These have the best battery life, great stability and many themes available.
Tweaked, plain and simple.
